If you watch any of the behind the scenes footage, you can see that the scene with Ji-yeong was particularly difficult for Jung HoYeon. Like you said - it was her first acting role, and this episode is heavy for someone with such little experience. She did an absolutely incredible job; but in the behind the scenes footage, repeatedly obtaining that extreme emotion to get the proper take for that scene was clearly taking its toll on both actresses.

It's telling that Deouk-su; to some extent, is more upstanding than Sang-woo. As out of all of them he actually went to one of the guardsmen for assurance they could play another format with the marbles. While Sang-woo only chose to manipulate Ali, rather than actually consider his manipulative suggestion could actually be a possibility. Shows he was and is in it for himself only. Yet conceivably, he would know such an interpretation of the rules can be deduced, as he brought up clause 3 as a means to have a way out.
@richard_nj3 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't go that far. Nothing in the series suggests that Deok su has any compassion for his fellow participants. He definitely also was and is in it for himself only, there's no question about that. Sang woo is just simply a lot smarter, which allows him to be more cunning and insidious than Deok su. That makes Sang woo more dangerous, but it doesn't make Deok su any better.

Ali (Anupam Tripathi is the actor's name since Mickey asked) wasn't stupid or dumb. He was just a good natured guy who wanted to trust Sang Woo who had already helped him so many times. He didn't want to believe that someone whom he looked up to as a big brother would do that to him. But he was wrong their sadly. We live in a world where being Good natured is seen as being stupid or dumb and thus an opportunity to be exploited upon. Ali even calls Sang Woo, "Hyung" which is a Korean honorific for someone like an older brother figure at the end but it's not shown in the subtitles. But then Sang Woo exploits that good nature of his.

@NCore_._3 жыл бұрын
@@pamoweiberezi5315 Well then you didn't get anything I said. It's not the matter of seeing through what Sang Woo was scheming, it was about believing in someone who helped you till this point. When Sang Woo asked for the marbles directly at first Ali said that he can't since he had a family. He definitely prioritized his family. But since Sang Woo had helped them so much already, especially him, he tried to believe in him when Sang Woo told him that both can win. He was gullible I agree but he was Good Natured and as I said being Good Natured is taken as being dumb and Stupid these days as it's seen as an opportunity to be exploited. So ya he was dumb and stupid for being a good natured and innocent guy who wanted to believe in someone whom he looked up to as an older brother who had never been bad towards him until that point.
