Well folks, it’s another Saturday morning cartoon season finally and this one kinda tugged at the heart strings a bit but not in the way you would think. I think we could all see and somewhat feel the sadness that these two ramblers felt in their voice and demeanour that another mini voyage had ended for them. You could tell beneath the back and forth banter it bothered them. And we felt for our hero’s. But all is not lost, because by the time you are reading this, Laurel and Hardy of the north are already have started the final stages of planning for their next adventure and I’m sure it will be as good or better then the last. Stay tuned!

Well a coffee recipe?? I use a Revere ware stainless perk pot at the cabin but not sure on how many full cups it holds. I put in a third cup of coffee for it. The late friend Hawk was the that wanted to perfect the perfect camp coffee. It is all in personal taste and hard to have an exact recipe.Even how long it perks is part of the recipe. I do prefer McCafe medium roast and think it may be the important part of my recipe too.

Bongiorno Martin and Jim, My wife and I (this is her laptop) are saddened to see the season end! As Roy Rogers used to say "Until next time and may the Good Lord take a liken to ya"! We are dying to whip up a batch of caramel rolls but we're on a low carb, no sugar diet! RATS! I have a very important, off topic, question to ask. We've sold our main home, the cabin of 35 yrs is going on the market ASAP and we're closing on 108 acres next month to live out the rest of our lives. We decided to "live" the dream instead of going to it for weekends and weeks at a time (we're retired). My question is: do you carry any protection when you guy's go hiking; be it pepper spray, maybe an air horn, pistol, etc. ? I'm pretty sure wolves won't be an issue but bear scat, moose, etc. is all over the place! I don't believe we'll need it but it's better to ask someone like yourself who has much more experience.. TY and ditto Roy Rogers!
@TheNorthwoodsman12 жыл бұрын
After walking up on a bear or two I mean to carry the 44 mag pistol but then I just don't. I feel that a decent range bear spray would be the thing that you would strap on each trip. There is always next time but I have bumped into so many black bears over the years and even the sow and cubs I have almost tripped over took off in the other direction every time. Wolves I do not worry about but when they are howling between me and the cabin as it gets dark it would feel better to have a gun along, just to scare them off if they got nosy or thought I was legal game. MOOSE in rut, now that is a real problem so a gun would be nice to have along. No definitive answer here but do what allows you to enjoy your haunts.
