This is spot on. My favorite ER I ever worked at was a pediatric ER as a travel nurse. Kids are the best ☺️

*knock on wood* have never had a fracture before, but can only image how many kiddos come in from an accident - kids are so strong though, you work with a tough group of patients :)

When I was 12 I got appendicitis and there were so many complications that I spent a week in the hospital and it took 3 months before I got it out. Then my friend got appendicitis a few months later and it only took him 3 days to get it out and I was so jealous... But honestly that experience was what inspired me to go into nursing so in the end I'm grateful

You touched on alot of important things seen in Peds ER. Croups are the worse 😣😩😫😵. I had it often when I was little (glad I grew out of it) & whatever our family doctor had my parents doing worked! I have empathy for kids that get it. We see various ages but mostly teen - adult unless Labor & Delivery or Pediatric patient having a Fracture or high fever.. Currently they have everyone in the ER reviewing Stemi Algorithms... This was very helpful w/insight... ☺️👍👍👍So glad you enjoy being with Peds aside from Adults... Please continue to do videos like these.

I love this video :) I have 2 semesters left for my BSN and currently work as a cardiac LPN. I still have no idea what I want to do with my BSN, though I loved my Peds rotation. It's helpful to see your real life experiences and take on your role :)

Introverted i’m 13 also , at first i really wanted to be a peds nurse lol , until i thought about seeing all these sick kids 🥺. it’s more than just checkups , and hiccups and stuff .. more diseases , broken bones ; so i decided i’ll just be a NP , good money .. and when i see my patient i won’t be as sad cause i know they are adults and they are responsible

I think grouping RSV and flu in children is an inaccurate representation. Flu and RSV can both be viral, it would’ve been a better representation had you grouped RSV and bronchiolitis with each other.
