Excellent. In sanctification, being conformed to Christ's image requires yielding to the Holy Spirit. The church today does not give enough attention to and believers do not understand the power and victory they have in the Holy Spirit. If they did, there would not be such a debate. In His GRACE, Christ has given us His Spirit, so that we can have power for living and victory over sin. We yield to His Spirit because we are grieved by our sin because we know how much it grieves Him. It is not "cheap grace"--We know how much it cost Christ and this truth guides our Christian walk.

Romans 5:20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: Romans Chapter 6 1What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Titus 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Nope God's Grace does not give anyone license to commit the things that made us lost before God Himself intervened and granted us repentance unto life Christ came to set us free from those things by the salvation that same Grace gives.

Does anyone in martial arts think that in ONE DAY they can swear an oath and become a black belt?? Repentance is an ongoing process of a mind being changed by DAILY Bible study, prayer and the working of the Holy Spirit. Repentance isn't "confessing to a priest" and he sprinkles you with "holy water," making you an instantly sanctified, black-belt Christian in the blink of an eye. How patently ridiculous and superstitious. Catholic nonsense all goes back to the idea that justification is INFUSED, and that it happens over and over again. "Whups, I sinned again. Time to go back to the priest and get "justified" again!"

Catholics like you think that justification is INFUSED. We are instantly made holy once we confess and take an oath. But oh boy, watch out! If you sin after being "justified," you lose salvation. Reformers believe that justification is EXTRINSIC. It's a change in a Christian's LEGAL STATUS, ONCE AND FOR ALL TIME. Does a person step into a dojo and INSTANTLY become a black belt??? The main error of the "too much grace" thinking is a Catholic idea of repentance. Repentance is NOT: I come to confess sin and swear an oath to not sin anymore. Rather, repentance is BELIEVING something NEW that I didn't believe before. It's not MY willpower and oathtaking. Rather, it's getting a REVELATION about the comparative value of God's reward, compared to sin's shit pile. When you come to UNDERSTAND the value, you just don't want sin as much, anymore. Until and unless you get this revelation in your heart, a million confessions and oaths mean NOTHING. They're just curtains on the Titanic.

@cranmer1959

@@johndodson8464 No, I'm saying the exact opposite. I'm saying that all of the gifts or graces are caused by God. Therefore, you cannot use justification as simply an evangelistic tool. ONLY God SAVES. So in the golden chain of salvation unconditional election precedes everything else! Furthermore, regeneration is not an act of the will on the part of the elect. The elect person is passive in regeneration. Regeneration precedes believing the Gospel!!! True that the Gospel call is the instrumental means God uses to issue the effectual call or regeneration, but that does not make your argument for cheap grace any better. That's because justification is an eternal decree just like election is unconditional. Justification is only realized in time AFTER regeneration and believing the Gospel. Believing the Gospel is impossible without 1) unconditional election, 2) eternal justification (See Revelation 13:8), and 3) regeneration/effectual call. Following true belief and realized justification the next gift is repentance. (Acts 11:18). And after that? The grace of sanctification is a progress in being conformed to the image of Christ. The short of it is that assurance is not automatic. Even if a person is elect and regenerate, to attain assurance the graces of repentance and sanctification must also be realized. Only God can cause the regenerate believer to cooperate in believing the Gospel, repenting of sins and habits, and struggling against sin in the process of ongoing sanctification. These men are deliberately ignoring the golden chain of salvation and instead over-emphasizing only one link in the chain. So they are what I would call practical antinomians. And lastly, I do not believe that any of the other graces are the ground of our salvation. Justification is by faith and faith alone. But is believing, repenting, and struggling against sin optional? I think not.

Your video title reads like something Satan would have whispered to Eve in the garden. You think Jesus didn't teach works salvation? This is the *_work_* of God, that _YOU_ believe on him whom the Father hath sent." (John 6:29) So according to Jesus, believing is a work that _we_ do, as God cannot believe on himself. That means repentance is a work, baptism is a work, prayer is a work, literally everything we do toward God is a work. In Romans 3:31, Paul says we are _not_ free to ignore God's law, then in Galatians 5:19-21 he lists all the behaviors that will prevent us from entering heaven. Jesus says in Mark 10:19 that we must keep the commandments in order to inherit eternal life, and he recites the Decalogue. The Reformers and those who follow them are deceived.

Your critics accuse you of turning the grace of God into licentiousness. It's a fair criticism. You guys twist scripture to have the opposite meaning. For certain persons have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. - Jude 4 But do you suppose this, O man, when you pass judgment on those who practice such things and do the same yourself, that you will escape the judgment of God? Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance? But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, who will render to each person according to his deeds: to those who by perseverance in doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life; - Romans 2:3-7
