I really like watching you from the younger generation enjoy and usurp all the wisdom that was given to our people thru song... keep it up and may you and your family be blessed.

Hello, I am 53 years old and I grew up listening to Frankie Beverly and Maze. I was approximately 13 years old when I first heard this song, and at the age of 14, my uncle allowed me to listen to the entire album, which was Maze live from New Orleans. Since then, I have been a devoted fan.

Hi, Ashley! Maze feat. Frankie Beverly is one of my favorite bands of all times. Beverly was a close friend to the great late Marvin Gaye who introduced and helped him to sign a deal with Capitol Records in the middle 70s. In 1989 they released a tribute to Marvin with the album "Silky Soul", including the title track, plus "I Can't Get Over You" and "Just Us". They have other great hits like "Happy Feelings", "A Place in My Heart", "Before I Let Go", "The Morning After", just to name a few. RIP to Mackinley "Bug" Williams.

Maze, the third member of my Holy Trinity of full bands with Earth, Wind & Fire and the Isley Bros. Pretty much every track on every album was good stuff for all three bands.

May the Iconic, Legendary, Musical Genius that is Howard "Frankie" Beverly sleep in eternity, peacefully. I met him in 1980 & I say with a heavy heart, he will surely be missed. May he continue to sing with the angels. Frankie Beverly. December 6, 1946 - September 10, 2024. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Love can be bitter, love can be sweet, sometimes devotion, and sometimes deceit. Indeed, its the poetry of life. This is one of my all-time favorite Soul jams from this era. This edition of FB and Maze was an incredible and underappreciated band, both in the studio and live. #respect

I had slipped over to listening to more rock when this was out, but was also roller skating and heard this there. The rink i went to played the live version from the "live in New Orleans" album. If you ever do whole album reactions, "Maze live in New Orleans" would be a good one. If you can find the original version though. For some reason the new version is missing about 4 songs. Also specifically the New Orleans album, 'cause there at least two live Maze albums. Maybe 3?)
