When I was a young girl, I was going through my sister's CDs and found Metallica Black (her boyfriend bought I for her and she never listened to it 🙄). I put it into the CD player and immediately fell in love. I listened to the album on repeat for a year and nothing else. I wasn't into metal or rock before then and they were my introduction to those genres and I've never looked back. Metallica and the Black album will always have a special place in my heart. It's literally an album that changed my life.

Except this wasn't about drugs. ha! That's the thing with good lyrics, if you take them at face value you will go in another direction than what was meant. Some leave things open to interpretation as you see fit...this one leans you to thinking drugs because it kind of matches but then he gives it away in seven words at the end "I'm inside open your eyes...I'm you".

☝️A little trivial thing I love about The God that failed is how James uses the sound of him reloading a shotgun to emphasise Beats 1, 1.25, 3 & 3.25 of the Main Riff at various stages throughout the song! Yes, at times it also features during 2nd bar of main riff on Beats 1, 1.25, 2, 2.25, 3, 3.25 & 4. (It’s subtly hidden within the audio mix, but it’s plain as day when u know what to listen out for)…if u didn’t know this, u gotta go and have a listen now 💪

I'm a huge Metallica enjoyer, and not huge in new Metal, but, to give credits where it's due, Slipknot's album was the most well produced, the one where the bass is as audible as possible without taking too much space among 8 different instruments and synths. I'm into production and to this day I don't know which kind of witchcraft went into that disc, but damn, it shows!

the Black Album was produced and mixed extremely well. The drums were thundreous, the snare like a gunshot. The guitars were heavy with minimal distortion, the bass clear and thumpy. They had a new producer which helped them sculp their songs from these 6-7 minute anthems down to a 3-5 minute song which were consumed by so many more people.

Man, this whole album is 🔥🔥🔥 There are five of you, two guitars, bass, drums & a vocalist and you have yourself a kicking band. Kid Rock Sampled this riff for his song 'American Badass' which was used as 'The Undertaker' theme tune for a while in WWE.

I love how you guys react to my favorite band. I first hear these guys when I was 14 back in 1985 and they instantly became my favorite band. I've seen them 7 times in concert and it has always been great! You guys you go see them. They are one of the best bands ever live. They won't disappoint!

@@symptomoftheuniverse4149 100% 🤘🤘 They definitely morphed over the years and those supposed fans that are too stupid to get LOAD, RELOAD and the S & M albums as the CONCEPT albums they are is sad. To me they've only followed the Awesomeness that 70's bands did as well with concept releases. If you can't listen to those albums and HEAR the elements of rock and those Kick-Ass BLUES licks you don't get music. Some people blasted Hardwired but I love it. One of their BEST. Love your comment. 🤘🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
