Tiger hugging his son at the end is when he won the Masters in 2019. The significance is because (as you saw earlier in the video) Tiger was hugging his father in the same spot in the same way when he won his first ever Masters. His father was his role model and hero in life, and he passed shortly before he won the Masters in 2019. So instead of his father being there after the 18th hole, it was his son. One of the most iconic moments in all of sports.

Wouldn't every round of the tournament matter the most since they make cuts to the players at the bottom?
@sphillips88m2 жыл бұрын
@@dbizzle525 Thursday and Friday are very important beyond making the cut but Saturday is either gain the lead or catch up but also it will determine your start time so if your leading on Saturday you start last Sunday and most of tigers shots on here are him leading on Sunday but the player he’s playing with is usually tied or within a couple shots in the recent years at least peak tiger could be five six shots ahead but that can all change in one hole fast so yes Thursday Friday make the cut establish the lead Saturday maintain or catch up to the players who started earlier and Sunday is winning time so yes Sunday shots are the most important

As someone who plays golf regularly, I can tell you that it is a maddening game. It's the hardest game I've ever played. And you can spend an entire day hitting crap shots and feel like you want to never play again, then hit one good one and you are all in again. I once saw one of those signs hanging in the men's room at a sports bar, it read "I hate golf. I hate golf. I hate golf. Great shot! I love golf." That's most amateur golfers relationship with the game.

Love the channel. I'm a little older and have played sports from football to, basketball, soccer, to hockey (ice amd roller)..... tried skiing, played cards amd was pretty good and won money several times, and was even decent at pool and darts. Let me tell you all from 25+ years of experience that golf is by far the most difficult sport I have ever played. You can play a career round one day and the next day go out and play the worst round of your life on the same course, from the same tees, in very similar weather conditions. Golf truly is deserving of much more respect than it deserves, and people should react to it more. Fun fact.... the PGA Tour professional golfers league gives more money away to charities annually than the NFL and NBA combined and those athletes that play golf don't earn money for placing at tournaments unless they make the cut (get to play on the weekend). If you haven't tried the sport, I highly recommend it!

This might sound a bit boring but please read it through. You'll have a new appreciation for just how good the guys on the tour are. Talking about precision, in reading greens you even have to consider the type of grass it is, which direction it is growing (to catch sunlight) to judge how fast your ball is going to roll, and this will affect how much it turn or rolls straight. Misjudge that and your putt will either be short or may even roll off the green. When making your approach into the green from the fairway you have to consider which iron you are using to know where to land your ball. A long iron is going to cause the ball to roll forward and a short iron might even make it roll backwards from so much spin. Not only that, you have to make sure you fly it far enough to get over a bunker or water but keep it short of the hole for an uphill putt which is easier than a downhill putt. This is assuming that the green is sloping towards you and not away from you. Those are just some of the things you have to consider even before you start taking wind into account. If you are hitting from a downslope towards the green your ball flight is going to be lower and longer, and if you are on an upslope it will be shorter. If the ball is higher than your feet it will go left, and if your feet are higher than the ball it will go right. Those guys have an understanding of physics that few have, and they have the physical ability to make a repeatable swing under intense pressure, back to back to back to back.... for 54 holes, not just 18.

10:25 That’s Larry Mize in the 1987 Masters. He was born and raised in the same town where the tournament has been held since the 1930’s. Mize had only a single win on his pro résumé at that point and was considered a complete non-factor going into the tournament. He made that shot to win a sudden-death playoff against Greg Norman and Seve Ballesteros, two of best players of that time. One David against to Goliaths. It’s widely considered one of the greatest shots in the history of the sport.

To put 2:40 into perspective, that was the first time ANYONE had ever beaten Tiger Woods in a major after he was the leader going into Sunday, the final day of the tournament, before that he was 14-0. Also, Y.E. Yang was the first Asian-born player to ever win a major, and he was a 37 year old PGA tour rookie, who had spent more time in the South Korean military than playing professional golf. It's easily the greatest upset loss of Tiger's career, and one of the great stories in golf.

Used to watch grown working men gamble ALL weekend long, screaming, celebrating, running around when their 2 man scramble was having a good round winning money. 😂😂 Besides all that, just the game is enough to get most hooked IF they give it a chance. To answer the young man's question, Is Tiger Wood the only black golfer?: Charlie Sifford was an American professional golfer who was the first African American to play on the PGA Tour. Calvin Peete was an American professional golfer. He was the most successful African-American to have played on the PGA Tour, with 12 wins, prior to the emergence of Tiger Woods. Lee Elder was an American professional golfer. In 1975, he became the first African-American to play in the Masters Tournament. Bill Spiller was an American professional golfer who helped to break the color barrier in his sport. Pete Brown was an American professional golfer who is best known as the first African American to win a PGA Tour event with his win at the Waco Turner Open. Charles Owens was an American professional golfer who has played on the PGA Tour and the Senior PGA Tour. John Shippen was an American golfer who competed in several of the early U.S. Opens. Born in Washington D.C., he was the son of a former slave. Dewey Brown Sr. was the first known African-American member of the Professional Golfers' Association of America, and the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America. Brown became a member of the PGA in 1928. And let's not leave out the ladies... Renee Powell is an American professional golfer who played on the US-based LPGA Tour and is currently head professional at her family's Clearview Golf Club in East Canton, Ohio. Ethel Funches was a champion amateur golfer from 1950 to 1980 who won a number of local, regional and national titles, including seven titles at the United Golfers Association National Women's Open, fourteen wins at the Wake-Robin Golf Club Championships and over 100 local and regional titles and trophies.
