After the 70’s, did it feel like the 70’s were over? I think often of what it would be like growing up in my parents time and how the music surrounding me would affect the experience over what little experience I experienced now in 2024. I woke up thinking of this song today because I watched a Vietnam movie the other day and only thought about how even this song must’ve set such a vibe - locally and internationally. As someone half your age I feel like the 2010’s blended into the 2020’s mainly because there’s no soul in our music or society anymore. This is a question I know I could easily ask my parents, but I think I would get more insight from a stranger’s point of view.

@@8liontv after the 70s, most of us were raising kids and listening to Sesame Street. But occasionally going out. In my experience the 80s blended into the 90s. Then our kids left the nest ( if we were lucky ) 2000s meant nothing to me musically.

More than a song, this is a hymn, not only to the 70's but to eternity! What a rhythm!! This song contains something of wildness and machismo united that as soon as it is heard it motivates the body to move, and at the same time it lifts the spirits of even the most discouraged person. This work of art was the companion of my teenage years growing up in a rough neighborhood in Mexico City. What memories! My friends and I used to listen to the CCR after countless fights we had when gangs from other streets came to attack us, and we had to defend ourselves. But THIS, THIS ANTHEM was always our companion after those fights which did not stop being heard in all the houses of the neighborhood at full volume! Now with the passing of time, and with more than 60 years on top, I can't stop listening, and appreciating even more, this melody in which John Fogerty shows himself great with that unique voice. But that drum beat is simply masterful under the guidance of Doug Clifford!!

There is a sign for them in the dead earth: We give it life, producing grain from it for them to eat. And We have placed in it gardens of palm trees and grapevines, and caused springs to gush forth in it, so that they may eat from its fruit, which they had no hand in making. Will they not then give thanks? (TQS. 36 : 33-35)

Viva la CCR!
@rossmacdonald38803 ай бұрын
Hey 34 is young but you’re old enough to appreciate classic rock. It was a great time to grow up and hopefully you will keep it alive, maybe start your own band or DJ. John Fogerty is a legend in his song writing, singing and guitar. CCR is will survive! ☮️❤️👍🍻
