All I can say is lever action rifles are unmatched in my eyes, always been a fan, I received my dad's old 30-30 Winchester lever action in my mid-teens and I've been hooked ever since. Being modernized and modified like this is just a dream come true. I love that people are out there still doing stuff to these guns.

I think a mechanic worth adding to the modern manual of arms for a lever action is when reloading; stuff the first round in and work the action. THEN finish loading the tube. This avoids several issues: 1) not having a round in the chamber and the gun in service asap, 2) not filling up to capacity, 3) potentially getting tunnel vision (gives a second to look up and scan), 4) forgetting to chamber and cock the rifle after loading. Ultimately, getting it back up from empty to 1-shot is better than being caught with four in the tube and none in the spout when you really need it.

After seeing the absolute hail of lead the cowboy action shooters are capable of putting out with their lever guns I've been sold on their viability. Not to mention something like the 45-70 is about the most versatile round in existence. It can handle the Big 5 in Africa, Bear or Elk in the lower 48, Moose in Alaska, even deer with trapdoor loads, and of course it has the potential as a quick handling and very well balanced gun for self defence. As for extra ammo on my end I've been wearing the Kirkpatrick bandolier, and it's also quite nice (currently waiting on another for 357).

One of my prized hunting rifles is my Marlin Guide Gun - 45-70 and I have loaded up a "Gormet" selection of rounds for it. I love hunting deer with it around here since the woods are heavy and the typical shot is 50 yards with 75-100 yards max. I shoot 310-grain hollowpoints at 1700 fps and with Leupold 2.5x scope. I do not have to worry about tracking a blood trail. They do not get up and run. In reality, less spoiled meat this way. Also, we have lots of Black Bears and I know I am not undergunned at all. Love that the classic lever actions are now getting their due respect. I hate semi-autos.

There are no “REMLINS” The Remlins are J.M. Marlin lever guns that Remington inherited when they purchases J.M. Marlin Company from J.M. in Connecticut. Remington purchased Marlin in 2010 and did not produce their own Marlin lever guns until 2016. Remington is owed an apology from all those who maliciously slanted Remington when they were all J.M. As somewhat of a "purist" when it comes to the old school Aesthetic of Lever Guns, I have to say that the Thumper is well done. Too many "modernized" Lever Guns try to reinvent the wheel and go all Space Age with their configuration. The result generally ends up being a skeleton frame that looks like it would break in a stiff breeze. Kinda defeats negates a lot of the benefits of a Lever action firearm. This thing, however, looks like you could use it to club a Grizzly Bear after you run out of ammo.

Lmfao, it doesn’t matter what you’re shooting. If you’re hitting pigs anywhere other than below the ear they have the potential to run. I’ve killed more than my fair share with an 1895G and 325gr FTX. They run less with a small round below the ear than a big round through the pump station. Also, .45-70 doesn’t knock huge holes. It just opens a permanent wound channel the size of your thumb. It’s a lot of things, but it’ll never be a magnum rifle.

@@200130769 I mean it’s literally built for practicality. Easy to access ammunition, a rail you can attach literally anything you need per situation you need to use it for. I’m just not sure why it needs an explanation on why the one with less limitations is more practical, it’s implied.

What are your thoughts on .458 SOCOM? Seems like it would give you the ballistics of a 45-70 with the ergonomics, ease of reload, and ease of follow-up shots of an AR

I love the idea and all behind this. However the price they want to me is more than what I think the worth is. I’m by no means judging anyone that wants to do any of this and gets a rifle pimped by mad pic custom. I think I’ll just stick with putting a few little extras on my fire stick from ranger point.

Those guns look amazing ! I'm super new to the hobby / way of life, and not really a fan of that style but...I do like something similar, in terms of "look." And that's the Fightlite SCR ! Rifle. But, seems like they don't make them anymore...and the ones I have found, have an added $1000 cost on top of the base cost, pretty wild. Your V1 and V2 reminded me of the SCR a lot. Nice video, I learned a lot.

I've never understood why this concept didn't catch on sooner. I've always thought the lever gun could be a tactically viable weapon. I read about the idea years ago. I think it can be a good weapon, at the very least, for home defense and possibly police use in some situations.

I think the one caviot is it's slower loading. They definitely have a reliable action, and can be fired fast, just not loaded as fast as a magazine fed weapon. Those steam punk looking rifles are great though...how cool is that?!?!

Except for being inferior in every single way to a semi-auto, sure. The Army should not have rejected lever action 150 years ago, but that's where lever action belongs in a practical or tactical sense: 1870. They are obsolete except for entertainment and have been for a very long time.

Since you mentioned starship troopers I could just imagine a trooper sporting the thumper version 2 engaging an arachnid warrior alone blowing off its knife like limb arms then blowing off a leg making it stumble and unloading the rest of the magazine right in its nerve stem. Then reloads with crazy sleight of hand getting ready to squash the next bug. Love that gun man and appreciate its introduction.
