My avatar says it all. I have probably thrown every brand of bowling ball out there. When I made the switch to Motiv the Venom Shock was one of the balls I got later eventhough it was already out. I started with the Desert Tank, Purple Tank, and the OG Thrill (all three balls have the same core different coverstocks). Motiv just fits my game better. As it pertains to the Venom Shock I love the gear core and have bought all of Motiv's equipment which features that Gear Core. Loving the Primal Shock as well (same cover as the Venom Shock different (bigger) core)

The IQ balls (especially the one in this video) have a tendency to whip up to the pocket really hard, but that can be a good or bad thing. If it's whipping in the right part of the lane, it's easy 230s all night. If it's not, then it's basically useless. The ball only seems to make one shape, and if it's not right, you can't fight it. And before you, whomever you are, accuse me of bias: I've owned a Storm IQ before, but I've never once thrown a Venom Shock.

Absolutely 100% how I feel about IQ.

Does your release change as you move deeper, i.e. do you rotate your hand around the ball more? Do you think the IQ Tour is closer to the Blue Corral Venom?
@RealExperienceBallReviews Жыл бұрын
Hey there! Typically, when I move left my hand does want to come around it more naturally (which is ok!). That rotation allows for length and backend. Now, there are times where you might need to stay in the forward hand position from the left, but it’s all situational. I would say the IQ Tour is closer to a Venom Shock than a Blue Coral Venom. The Blue Coral Venom is asymmetrical so different in nature entirely. Will be pick sooner and be stronger overall than an IQ Tour, hope this helps!

@@RealExperienceBallReviews Ah yes, I forgot the Blue Coral is an asym. I mistakenly was only considering length. I have slow ball speed and bowl on a dry house shot with weak equipment. My issue is when I move in because the ball reads early, I come around it more and the increased response to friction more than makes up for minimal additional length. However, if I stay in the forward hand position, carry suffers. Given I am not trying to cover a lot of boards (3rd arrow to 10 at break point), I am beginning to think that I should not move my feet but move my eyes outside. In this case, I may hit the friction sooner, but the ball needs to cover more boards to get to the pocket. Sound reasonable? Thanks, Mike

I would try maybe something a bit shinier? A pearl would be good, depending on what brands you’re throwing, there’s lots of great options. The solid cover on the IQ will make it pick up sooner for sure, especially with lower ball speed. If you enjoy Storm, a Tropical Surge or Hyroad Pearl would be a great option. Something that will give you a bit more length. Try longer pin to pap drillings as well and work with your pro shop operator to find the right solution as well. Hope this helps!

@@RealExperienceBallReviews I am throwing a Roto Grip Uproar. I just put new grips in my Motiv Recon RX1 Silver and hope it can serve as a step down. My next thoughts are pin down Hustle M&M or Motiv Top Thrill Blue/Green. NU Blue may be an option too, but concerned too smooth.

we all know which one is the better ball for what they’re built for, hands down …… not even comparable, let’s not talk of isolated cases

I’ve always been a storm guy looking at both balls for open championships I’m looking for something below my RSTx-1. My gut says venom but lot of people say IQ is better. Thoughts
