In my opinion, musicality is judged by the ability of a song to spread a certain emotion. Every time I listen to Good to be Alone, I feel Theo's emotions. I understand what demons and angels were flowing through his body and spirit when he composed this masterpiece. Melancholic yet somewhat tranquil. The convincing of one's self that they are better off alone. trying to push forward in a world where they feel solitude and isolation. This song brings a stone to my throat but a smile to my face. Theo is a very honest man. He has no fear in showing his true self through the music he releases into this world. That is the definition of a true musician, the meaning of a true artist. It takes plentiful courage and outstanding amount of love. Thank you Theo.

It's just over a year now since the love of my life left me - we were just kids when we came together. Every night I go to sleep thinking of her, and she's back on my mind even before I wake up. I fall in love with her every day, even though she's hundreds of miles away. We spoke on the phone today for the first time in months. It's good to be alone, but it isn't at all.
@chetpoete6 жыл бұрын
Looking out my rear view mirror The miles behind don't disappear Like they used to When I was with you However hard I hit the gas The engine don't run half as fast As it once did When we were just kids All of the good old days are gone But this life keeps rolling on On and on... It's good to be alone No one to call you on the phone After a month out on the road No one to tell you welcome home No one to scratch you down your back No one to cut you any slack You got to scratch it on your own It's good to be alone The mountain tops don't stand so high The open road ain't quite as wide As it once seemed When we had the same dream The evening stars don't shine so bright When we don't make love through the night Like we once did Yeah, those lights are faded All of the good old days are gone But this life keeps rolling on On and on... It's good to be alone No one to call you on the phone After a month out on the road No one to tell you welcome home No one to scratch you down your back No one to cut you any slack You got to scratch it on your own It's good to be alone Alone, alone Alone, alone Alone, alone You'll learn to scratch it on your own It's good to be alone

I just recently met "the" one and this made me realize how precious every second spent with her are. And that even if people are real soulmates, and really want to make a family together for life, sometimes - sometimes, life have other plans. But for now, I enjoy it, and I will, every second, as long as it lasts. Because every second with your soulmate is a whole eternity.

By all means I'm a passion over practical kind of guy, but family stresses and issues as well as wanting to one day have a family and a sustainable means of living pushed me into a career that has only felt like the lesser of all evils...I've been playing since I was 15 and nothing I have ever experienced has made me feel like what getting on stage and being my truest self feels like. At this point I have a full time job, while also rehearsing, recording, and gigging 4-6 times every week trying to build this dream. The schedule, the constant hustle, and the perceived "temptations" have prevented all worthy relationships from ever having a chance. I can't describe the feeling of pursuing your true calling while it prevents what feels like true love to manifest, but this song helps me make sense of it. While I hope I am not getting jaded on the idea of love, sometimes it truly is good to be alone.

I was losing my time on those vulfpack instrumental jams -- and they are great. But nothing beats real songwriting... Great three chord song are like love poetry... such a cliché but unbeatable when done right. Like you did here. First line is vaguely echoing Don Henley's *End of the Innocence* -- great!
