Idea...for small to medium size yard waste, use a piece of tin as a "sled" to load on a bunch and the pull it to the burn site or disposal site. More efficient, less work. Just a thought. I love your videos. Thanks.

Grandpa always said, it's always good to have good friends to help you do hard work. Too bad you can't use a flamethrower to burn all that Wisteria since there's so much of it, it sure would make the job a lot easier. If it was me doing that I'd get a bulldozer,there's just too much of it to clear out. Keep up the good work, it's going to look great when you're finished.

This is a historic entrance to the property, you told another. Then the road has been there a long while. Where was the rest of the original property? If this land was that owned by his mother and his grandfather, there originally would be much more to it. This is the first time I've seen the frontage to the road. Goodness. It's so wild. We cut cedar trees for post for the front and back porch of our old farm house. Worked real well. We had horses and did trail rides from there and did benefit rides for sick friends. We had fish fries and pig pickin’s and many good times there. Love what you are doing...👏👏👏

The tree trunk that they are cutting up with the chainsaw for fence posts is probably from an eastern red cedar. The cedars that we have in this part of North America ( Eastern Ontario ) are eastern white cedars.

If you had a blade on the front of the tractor, could you scrape all of that topsoil off of your driveways down to the clay, then spread the big rock gravel down to form a good base for the smaller driveway gravel. Too bad all that Wisteria is in the topsoil, what a great resource you would have for a garden. Please thank your friends for helping you on this project for me. I think I've commented before on adding charcoal to your soil to improve it for the desirable plants you want to keep, or adding new ones. When I saw those punky old logs you're hauling in this video (not to mention rotten old house boards) ,I instantly reminded of biochar experts saying they got best results from making charcoal (not ash!) out of punky rotten wood. Immediately after I watched this, I came across a video by David, who lives now in Alabama, explaining his latest experiment with biochar/terra preta, first found in the Amazon. Your brush piles can have a really great purpose - I urge you to use rotten wood and brush for this on your land in areas where the soil needs help. The job doesn't have to be this elaborate. The deep trench is to help smother lower layers of charcoal before it completely goes to ash. David adds an amazing amount of seriously great soil improvements in his video, but it doesn't have to be fancy. I just throw lump charcoal left from our barbecues into my compost. Clay and potsherds that David added aren't necessary, they just help the charcoal pick up and retain nutrients in a sandy soil. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ep-3koqfhJp4qdE

Awesome job guys. A little step closer each day. A lot of that wisteria is really thick but I know the city has hired sheep to clear some areas and some places use goats.
