I desire to be married someday but I’m so afraid of marriage. It’s not the commitment that I’m afraid of- it’s the unknown. Like what does married life look like day to day? How do couples struggle well through hard times? It’s so interesting that even though I have no idea what any of this looks like - I still desire it. A priest told me once that we oftentimes forget about hope and the value of it. It’s so true. There’s also such a joy in the present! After a tough end to a situationship I was so angry and sad. I just cried and cried. I wasn’t losing hope but I desperately needed to understand that suffering to realize how that person wasn’t going to be the one to help me on my way to heaven. After being blinded by emotions I got to really take a deeper look and soon after started dating someone who has truly been making me want to cling closer and closer to Christ. Find the person that makes you want to chase Jesus. Remember the goal of marriage. God showed me what I was REALLY looking for in my suffering.

Question: please help with my question. What does rightly ordered sexual desire look like? What does rightly ordered sexual embarace look like? I want to be a celebate/religious and I feel like God wants me to understand this before I commit myself to Him entirely. Thank you

excellent question, after dealing with sexual trauma this is something I wonder everyday. How will i know the difference between being desired rightly and just being used if being used is all i know
