I've driven Sydney to Perth 3 times and that's bad enough, biking it would be an endurance test. The big fuel tankers up the centre have 4 trailers and when they hit a road undulation they wiggle like snakes. Thanks for posting the video, it brought back memories.

Great Vlog Josef and really well fitting music to go with it, I liked it very much thank you. It is obvious the toll a trip such as this is taking on your body. Must be very hard to do it day after day. Glad there are not too many hills!

Cheers mate, I'm going to work on fixing up some of the rendering in the next episode. I felt I didn't want to fix it in this one because I had to render this film twice and it took 9hrs all together on my PC and then the upload took 2 nights ;) thanks for understanding anyhow :D

@@TheOneGoodRoad I understand completely the uploading of videos can take a long time and might be annoying sometimes,especially if you don’t have good WiFi and you just have your local SIM-cards.Using your local cards consumes a lot of data volume and the longer the video the more expensive the uploading will get. This leads me to the question : Did you have strong WiFi in the motels and road houses allowing you to upload videos ? And which SIM-cards did you use in Australia ? I am planning to do the same bicycle trip with my Brompton folding bike at the end of this year,just the other way from Perth to Sydney collecting some money for a charity. My respect to you for your achievement 👍💪😊

Fantastic documentary, mate! You really show how rugged the Nullabor can be. Stay was the estimated cost of the journey, i.e., food, water, and camping grounds? A bit on camels, they were introduced in Australia when Afghan settlers were invited to help and teach the British to survive out in the deserted regions. Without them or their camels, exploration through Australia's centre would have occurred more recently. We even have a train named after their efforts, the Ghan, which goes right through the center. Australian Camels are now highly prized and such exported to a lot of the Middle East to the extent that most domesticated camels there come from Australia. The wild ones cause a lot of damage to the local environment, destroying water holes and oases the Indigenous people relied on for millenia and, like the Buffalo up north, are very much invasive.

Are you asking me to state how much a roughly spent on cost of my journey? I'd rather not say, it was very low compared to most..

@@TheOneGoodRoad Fair point. If it can be done on a budget, then that makes it a little easier on my conscience knowing I can do it on a budget as well. Thanks, mate

@@TheOneGoodRoad Really? I'll keep it in mind and check it out if ever I get in a bind during training. At the moment progress is slow but getting there nonetheless. The goal at the moment is to set out in two years and hopefully do a shortish tour in 12 months.

Hi there 👋 Do you think Perth-Sydney cycling with a Brompton folding bike is doable ? Which direction actually would you recommend ? Westwards or eastwards ?

Pick the prevailing winds for the season you are in otherwise you will have horrible headwinds. It could be possible yes... 😉

hello, how did you get the water to Nullarbor plain?
@TheOneGoodRoad6 жыл бұрын
You have to fill up at roadhouses. Or ask travellers for water there is no natural rivers for 1,200km..

Наve you seen somewhere on road of Nullarbor a huge water tank for collect rain water with a tap😆? Which you have to boil😆.

Met a Japanese cyclist travelling around Australia once. He said he had a choice when he got here. Ride a bicycle around Australia or a motorcycle. He chose a bicycle. He then added that he made the wrong decision

100k, is only 62 miles, where I live in Wyoming, towns are 50+ miles apart. I'd live to pedal the Nullarbor plain. Course I'd do it on my recumbent, with a trailer, but go west to east, prevailing wind and all.
