Cool trick with the pencil on the beard. I probably would have suggested he shave it off since it really was just a whisp. I, unfortunately, am the opposite. After shaving my face, I can shower, dress, look in the mirror, and my beard is already coming back in. hahaha I'm thinking for Halloween, any females going male could use that trick for a more natural looking 5 o'clock shadow. Thanks for the knowledge. I always love your videos and your tips, tricks, and experience.

Hairgrippers. It grips hair. That’s amazing, I’m gonna need some of those.

They are really handy. I use them all the time.

@@theoneminutebarber Can you use them on the back of the head to protect your neckline?
@theoneminutebarber2 жыл бұрын
Possibly I've never thought of that. They don't stick tight and only stick to long hair. So not sure of the outcome.

Hello, I really admire your work as a barber. There is a concept with cutting hair that I’m struggling with and I am hoping you might be able to help. None of my instructors have been able to explain this in a way that makes sense to me, and I feel like I’ve searched all of KZbin, and you’re the only one who seems to really touch on the subject clearly. It has to do with the occipital bone and occipital ridge. How to find it, where on the back of the head I should actually remove the clipper as I’m working, and how this may change depending on head shape and what hair style you’re going for. And it seems like there is a bit of a paradox. I see a lot of haircuts that seem to look good where whoever did it, went up and off right off the occipital, but I also see haircuts that seem to look good where they went higher on the head, closer to the crown. I don’t understand why, or how to know when I should bring it higher or not. I don’t know if this makes any sense. I wish I could send you a little diagram of what I mean. If you have any videos on this subject that maybe I’ve overlooked, could you point me in the right direction? Thank you.

Most of my videos discuss this area of the head they are very important. I think you understand it well all ready. Basically you will always glide off the occipital ridge but at what angle will be important to the way you finish your cut. You understand how to make it tighter or heavier depending on the angle you glide off at. And over time you can adapt that to suit your client.

Well the degradation doesn't look perfect especially between 0 and 1 guard , also the way you did it is a little bit unorganized . But in general the haircut looks Amazing like evertime ❤️👌 thank u so much i learn a lot from you Hero❤️👌

Nice work however I’d approach the haircut by debulking with a number 2 or 1/12 and then set the bald line and then fade from there... Less risk of raising the fade plus you have a cleaner workspace

That's smart working nusense. From time to time I would do the exact same. Where are you working out of? It's always good to see some pro barbers on the channel.

Hello Michael Holm. I have a question regarding fade. Most videos of different channels including your videos showing fade basically like half head with hair and half not. I would like if possible to see fade but...for example the neck, NOT SO HIGH! For example on the sides the lowest is just above the ears which is great. But the final result is too high..like 3-4 fingers face. Can not be 2 or even 1 finger fade including the back of the neck?

I'm a beginner barber. Im Struggling with fading. I always seem to leave lines and weight lines. My cuts don't pop and stand out. Any tips? Can you do a vid on the correct angle of holding the clipper when fading??
@theoneminutebarber2 жыл бұрын
Yes Frazer that's actually a useful video. How long have you been barbering? The best tip I can give you is to keep doing what you are doing and watching cutting videos, you will gain so much from watching others. But one specific tip regarding lines, you must make sure your clipper blade is zero gapped. That means the top and bottom blade are perfectly aligned. And you will notice I use a T outliner after the foil shaver, because if I don't the zero gapped blade of my Wahl senior isn't short enough and will leave a line

@@theoneminutebarber thanks for the reply! I've been barbering part time for the past 7 months after going on an intensive 4 week training programme and now at a shop 3 days a week. Mostly shadowing and watching but trying to build up clients. I'll look up some zero gapping videos and get on it!

Nice video. Did you really only use a number 1 guard as your highest guard? It didn't even look like you opened it. I usually always use a number 2 and a 1.5 open then closed, then 1 open then closed
@theoneminutebarber2 жыл бұрын
The method you use it's normally exactly the same as what I would use. It never even crossed my mind that I didn't use a number two on this.i guess I just never felt I needed it.

@@theoneminutebarber Looked great either way! I think sometimes I can create more work for myself but in with a 2 first as my 'default'. Sometimes it doesnt need it and the weight blends nicely with the scissors
