Games like this don't seem to realize that sometimes dying in one hit is MORE balanced than multiple. Remember, it's not just dying that counts in balancing a game like this, it's also killing. If you're a giant predator and it takes multiple hits to kill any prey even if it's tiny, that's super annoying and unrealistic. Some prey should be a risk to tackle, and some prey should be small rewards but little risk. Some predators should be just a pain in your side, others should be a death sentence if you don't run as soon as you see one. Just make small prey fast enough to escape large predators if they react quickly, as it'd be in real life.

You really hit the nail on the head there with the comments on power-gap, power-creep, and regressing to legacy. The devs are seriously just making the same mistakes again and again, and it doesn't seem like they realize that or are ignorant to people's concerns about it. So much so that they construct entire new catchphrases to invalidate criticism, such as how the isle is supposedly not a pvp game, or not pvp-focused, but rather a "survival game". That ontop of the irony of defining it as a hardcore game yet having very stat-determined rather than skill-determined balance is what makes this video a breath of fresh air to listen to. We need someone large in this community to echo the experienced, veteran players' concerns who have seen the whole song and dance already.

Their biggest mistake is that they're focusing on stupid fluff like nesting and skins while the game itself runs like shit. Powerful computers are struggling to consistently pull 60fps, collisions are comically bad (love getting force grabbed by deinos from 20 feet away, happens _all_ the time, and do not get me started on pteranodon jittering across the sky), there's massive desync on servers that aren't even half full, and yet they're focusing on literally everything but these core issues. Focusing on adding extraneous content without fixing core gameplay issues is the single biggest mistake they made with Legacy and they're doing the exact same thing with Evrima, except those issues are even worse this time around. It really doesn't matter if the game is balanced if you can hardly play it. They can go back and tweak stats after they put out the dumpster fire.

@magiv42052 жыл бұрын
I think Rexes should have super high damage, but not the absurdly inflated health pool of apex herbivores. They're definitely not glass cannons, but they should still never be careless around animals like Stego or Deino. Similar to the matchup of the last two, Rex and Trike should be incredibly dangerous for eachother, but incredibly rewarding when taken down. Plus, adult apexes shouldn't be hunting smaller dinosaurs anyway, it's just not energy efficient. Killing for sport will be punished by a drained stamina pool and eventual starvation. This way, the roster of smaller and/or mid-size dinosaurs isn't thrown out of balance by adult apexes, though the juveniles will still prove an interesting threat.

One big problem that stuck out to me is how the game still has shit boxes that, unless are somewhat decently fixed, will almost completely eliminate the majority of effects these stat changes made to the current combat matchups in the live build. Plus, stam regen rates are still really broken on some animals, with stego being able to regen every bit of its stamina after fully bucking and killing a singular utah (with its tail swing) in just 15 seconds. I hope you understand why the endurance hunter, aka "utahraptor ostrommaysi", would have a problem killing stegos purely by bleeding it out while also trying to juke tail swings in order to land a successful pounce. On top of that, utah still has issues with actually being viable in a fight against carnos and tenos, the two things that the "pack hunter" in theory should be able to kill if its pack and own attacks are coordinated correctly. A poorly aimed pounce and/or pounce bug is all utah's opponent needs to make it bleed like hell thanks to the fact that most of it's preferred food is able to bleed it more than it can to them. I'm not saying that utah shouldn't be challenged during hunts, but I'm not saying that it shouldn't be garbage at doing what its built for either. Simply put, carno and teno should have a weaker bleed output, and I hope you see why. Nonetheless, it was a great video that showed great balance discipline and attention to detail when producing. Thanks for reading. : )

I think Dino's (the gators) should take less head shot damage. IRL gators and crocs can tank shotgun slugs to the face at point blank range ,in fact, their skulls are SO hard that its advised to AVOID shooting them in them face completely because bullets will ricochet off of their skull and send shrapnel back at the shooter,and many people have accidentally killed themselves doing this.

It would aid in it's ambush gameplay while at the same time be fairly hard to attain a headshot on land as a deinosuchus. It would further incentivize stego to protect it's head in a deino fight, which really isnt all that hard. Also I think it is kind of absurd that a carno takes two headshots from a deinosuchus to kill it, despite it's relatively light build.

personally disagree with some of this logic, speed holds a lot of control in a fight, faster animals can simply choose not to engage, unlike slower animals unless there is a huge stamina advantage. generally the slower animal in a same-tier matchup should have an advantage in the melee, but that's just my opinion. in cases like utah vs pachy or carno vs cerato, a melee disadvantage could make the faster animal consider their options more when engaging, which is important considering they control if a fight happens at all
@uncanny-v2 жыл бұрын
I believe your logic is flawed in that you assume running means survival, or even that its fun. Run if you can’t win makes sense, but we’re talking about carnivores on the hunt. The decision should not be I can’t kill that let me run away and hope I can find the one dinosaur I can kill. (cant kill pachy lets go find utah) I think the gameplay should be I can win if I play this right, and die if I mess up.
@somerandomperson65112 жыл бұрын
@@uncanny-v running can mean survival in some situations, but most of your point here collapses as the roster grows. The small roster we have now creates a limit of options for carni players, but in the future a utah will have a lot more choices than a pachy in its size range, like galli who may be faster than utah but in turn will get clapped in a fight (just a speculation). A utah should not have a 50/50 with a same tier animal slower than it who has no other significant means of evasion, a carno should not have a 50/50 with a same tier predator that is probably as slow as a tenonto, otherwise it presents a disadvantage for the slower animal unless their stamina gap is large enough to present an equalizing risk for the faster animal. Imagine if t rex has a 50/50 with triceratops, the rex can engage when ever it wants and disengage when things don't go its way, the trike can not do the same, this presents an advantage for the rex despite an equal melee playing field. That is just bad balance
@Saurygiel2 жыл бұрын
@@somerandomperson6511 Depends on how attack costs are handled as well. Whether an attack uses a considerable amount of stamina or has a cooldown or delay for reliable counterplay makes a huge difference in how something can be balanced. You can have something be strong and fast, but if it's attacks are more limited or have a lot of room for counterplay then it can be completely fair. Problem is that not every animal plays with those concepts in mind (case-in-point: stego having the strongest attack in game but using practically zero stam, with very little opening for opponents when missing a tail-swing as well). And some of these concepts aren't even present in Isle, but I mention them as good examples can be found in PoT. For example, say Rex is faster and has more damage attacks than Trike (excluding a charge attack or something that Trike might have just to be straight), but Rex has a lot of room for error with it's attacks because they are performed slower, or might have a cooldown after using them. Or perhaps, a certain attack uses a considerable amount of stamina, and hence the tide can turn very easily between who is chasing and who is fleeing if the Rex does not play well.
@somerandomperson65112 жыл бұрын
@@Saurygiel stamina usage in attacks ties in to a stamina disadvantage equalizer, which can be one way to balance a matchup. Cooldowns are generally a pretty lame and artificial way of balancing animals, personally i prefer no cooldowns, I think it is best to leave it up to the player not to spam an ability by punishing their actions with diminishing returns on stamina or effect. Spam jumping in legacy came with a diminishing return penalty, in my opinion this feels more natural and allows more opportunity for poor decisions and panic attacks to be properly punished. Deino is an example of an animal that has a good setup for balance behind it, it has a weak bite force pound for pound, which punishes it for spam biting other animals in its own tier, its strength lies in its grab ability that drains a lot of stamina while also enabling the deino to fulfill its niche, that ability can be tweaked and expanded on freely as the roster expands. Deino's lunge is powerful, but it can spam it, and that doesn't present a balance issue because of its stamina drainage. Rex can be balanced through special abilities too, but if it holds both speed and combat advantage over a trike, it would need harsh punishments in its endurance, ironically it was quite like that in legacy and it still shitstomped trike almost effortlessly. Between a slow defender and a quick assailant, it should generally be up to the assailant to possess the skill required to overcome the melee disadvantage, otherwise it is free to harass its competition at its leisure. It's more than likely that rex will be able to break a trike’s legs with a broadside hit and prevent the already slower animal from even attempting to flee, similar to legacy. It only makes sense for the trike to outrank the rex in combat or endurance. If rex receives a grapple bite which attributes to its fracture, and is punished for spam snapping like deino is, it can be used to balance the interaction better, more issues are introduced in spino vs giga, giga vs trike, and the infamous giga vs rex matchup that was complained about so much in legacy. These animals need advantages and disadvantages in order to equalize them and emphasize on different skills depending on what disadvantages they need to work around. If rex is faster than trike and has nothing hindering its chances in the melee, it is not a true 50/50 make my viewpoint short, each animal in the roster should hold an advantage in each matchup between these three survival traits: evasion/combat/endurance. This applies to small vs large, and within same tier competition. For example, beipi may be outclassed in combat with a deino, but it outclasses it in evasion. Theri may be outclassed by allo in evasion, but it outclasses that allo in combat.

So thank you for that, Pesky.
@mikey-qe9op9fv9w2 жыл бұрын
I think a neat idea would be to give each dino species a unique passive that amplifies it's niche. For example since Utah raptor is a pack hunting predator that often times requires a pack to stand a chance against most threats, the Utah raptor should be rewarded for hunting along side with other Utah raptors. Here's an example of a passive. Utah raptor (pack mentality): for every other Utah raptor that is within 40 meters of you, your attacks deal additional 1 damage and you gain +1%movement speed. This stack up to a maximum of 5 times. This means in a pack of 5 or more each raptor is going to deal an additional 5 damage and be 5% faster.
@vilkasrex80672 жыл бұрын
No to passive damage boosts just because of the presence of individuals. They'll already be given a significant boost to damage output within a pack just because of the added strength of numbers. I'd always suggest staying away from granting passive damage alteration within a PVP environment. You could however, do a debuff to a prey item, by stacking a % increase to bleed per predatory pack member within a certain vicinity. Essentially there'd be a maximum you could stack on an individual, let's say for the sake of argument-a max of 10% for maintaining 5 individuals within 35 meters. Think of it like a bare bones stress system, where the prey item bleeds out rapidly due to the increased heart rate because of the amount of stress it's currently dealing with, etc. Although I like the thought of passive abilities, I think it'd be better to have active participation within "hunts", not tacit participation. I do like the above mentioned ability of making the Utah a better pack oriented bleeder; thus, I'd suggest altering it slightly. Instead of it being a passive ability, make it an active one, by requiring the other individuals of the Utah's pack, who are not actively diving in to do damage, to spam the threaten call periodically. This not only will build up a hidden status bar to eventually apply the "stress debuff" on a prey item, but it also creates active participation outside of direct damage dealing, while also creating risk and reward. What do I mean by "risk and reward"? For one, you are increasing the bleed out of the prey item by maintaining it's "fear and stress" just by active positioning and vocal threatening. But this also adds a bit of danger, as well. Partly because you have to have good positioning to threaten, because some of the threat displays play animations and could leave one in a compromised position during a hunt. In addition, you'd be broadcasting to the local area that a fight is happening, inviting competitors to participate. We can play around with the balancing with the numbers, but the idea seems, to me at least, to be a rather balanced one. It could be difficult to implement, however, I think this would be a great additional effect to the play style of the Utah.

This was incredibly well put together, and I agree with all of it. So much so that I want to attempt to put my own logic to it, since I'm most excited for it. Troodon's (Predicted) stats: 220 Health | 25 base bite damage. Troodon's main advantages toward the other dinosaurs would be: a. Agility, b. Stronger bleed and c. the venom. I'm not exactly sure what the devs are planning with venom, but for circumstances I'm going with the mainly hallucinatory that only causes the victim to see multiple troodons and panic, while eating at their hunger at the same time. I would hate for it to be another type of bleed so I'm being optimistic. =- Match-ups: -= *Carnotaurus* - Carnotaurus favored A body shot on the troodon from the carnotaurus will leave only 20 health, which should give the troodon a chance to get away if in a battle. A head shot will kill the troodon, so it can't survive a carno's ambush. Especially not if the carno lands a charge in any way. Troodon would need to slowly bite the carno 74 times for the carno to fall, so only a high number of troodons swarming the carno can take it down. A lone troodon should never take a carno, the troodon should simply apply some venom to confuse the carno and run off. *Deinosuchus* - R.I.P troodon Troodon should not be an awesome swimmer (But not a terrible swimmer either), nor be able to hold it's breath. *Dryosaurus* - Troodon favored Dryo is likely going to be on troodon's diet, and as such the troodon's sheer agility would be able to over do even dryo's agility. Dryo's only option is to run, as it can only tank 5 hits as the 6th hit is exactly it's health. Troodon would be relying on the panic from dryo to kill it, which could mean troodon has an easier time killing the dryo if it has back up like a stego. I've balanced this so that troodon can hang in there when alone by having a favored 1v1 to dryo. (I lowered troodon's bite damage significantly so dryo wouldn't die in 3 hits though.) *Hypsilophodon* - Troodon favored Troodon would be one of the few creatures that could contest hypsi's speed and agility, making bushes and high spots the hypsi's bests friends as the troodon can out maneuver the hypsi on the ground. It takes a single shot for hypsi to die to troodon, however, if the hypsi can see the troodon coming a tail hit will not end the hypsi. *Pachycephalosaurus* - Pachy favored Pachy's punishing damage would hard troodon heavily, since its relying on speed and agility to take down it's prey. A body or leg fracture would put troodon out of the fight, meaning a 1v1 between the two would be near impossible as it takes 24 bites to take down a pachy, theres a guarantee that troodon will get caught. It only takes two full rams to kill the troodon, or alternatively, three headswings or a headswing paired with a ram damage to again two shot the troodon. *Pteranodon* - Troodon favored Since troodon primarily relies on chip damage to kill things, pteranodon gets to survive four whole body shots from the troodon, but troodon is stealthy, and it's bites are likely pretty fast. So if the troodon can sneak up and land three head shots quickly the bird wouldn't know what hit him. This would be vastly easier with only one extra troodon to help. *Stegosaurus* - R.I.P troodon Troodon is smart, and as a smart dinosaur the troodon knows the only way to kill a stegosaurus is to lead it to a frozen pond, where the troodon is too light for the ice to break but the stego is far too fat it'll crumble and freeze to death or at least get slowed down. *Tenontosaurus* - Circumstantial Tenoto can one shot a troodon with its tail slam and two shot the troodon when the kick is paired with any other move. Which seems accurate to me. A lone troodon should not be able to kill a teno, but a pack of around 6 troodon would be able to overwhelm and decimate a lone teno. It would take 66 bites from the troodon to take down a teno, which paired with the troodons quick biting and speed would not be a difficult feat, as the teno is far slower than it. *Utahraptor* - Utah favored Utah can kill a troodon in three bites, a troodon can kill a utah in 20. It would take 5 troodons to take a single utah, and utahs aren't often alone. A pounce can also easily take a troodon. That took me an hour, even more props to you for doing that with 9 different dinosaurs.

Only things I flat out disagree with are Tenontos bite costing stamina and making the tail slam do more damage than it's kick. I feel that the kick being the damage dealer is better because it encourages comboing with all of your attacks giving each one its own purpose in a fight. The way I see it currently Tenontos tail slam is used for it's reach and stun allowing you to punish something that gets too close with crowd control and allowing you to follow up with the harder to land kicks for maximum damage. Edit: (I think the Teno bite costing stam may be an error because on Pesky's chart it says all attacks cost stam while later the bite is not listed with other stam attacks.)

I've got to say that I like the weight = health thing which we currently have going. It keeps animals realistically tanky for their size, and keeps them viable at all stages of their growth. A 1800kg stego is pretty similar to a 1800kg carno, just good at completely different things. In the balance before the weight = health overhaul, you had things like a 500kg stego having less than 1/3 the health of an equal weight utah. And less health than even a 120kg dryo! The result was animals being completely useless until adult. Which then encourages camping in a bush for hours because if you venture out you're just fodder.

Nice, but about Stego's bite force, now it got 50, and utah which got a way larger mouth got 55, just 5 more than stego does. When i realized this, then it disgusted me very much. I still think 40 bite force for stego is WAY too much, it should be closer to 20, cuz it got a small mouth with zero teeth. Where Utah got a way more larger mouth with teeth. So yes 80 for Utah is reasonable correct. However, stego's should be 15-20, because of this exact reason. Also another thing about Stego's tail swing, yes i totally agree that it should do tons of damage. However, as it is now, then there is basically almost no timeout between each tail swipe, which make stego impossible to take on as a deino. There should be a high amount of damage, but add a bit more timeout, so it's actually balanced.

The problem with this is that we don't know if this will function when other dinos are added. Stego might be op now but that's because there are no carnivores that are supposed to be able to defeat it
@thejaiganticbridge54792 жыл бұрын
That's kind of why fixing current in-game animals stats now is crucial to a smooth sailing progression of future content. When all current animals are fixed and balanced, each individual new dino only needs to fit with its concept and the previous fixed animals. If all animals are unbalanced and they add a new animal, regardless of whether the new animal is balanced or not, it will not fit properly with the other broken dinos and instead of an update focusing on one dinos stats and addition, they have to focus on readjusting all of them, which is just more work.
@aeyelashbug63112 жыл бұрын
@@thejaiganticbridge5479 What I mean is that if they make carno and stego balanced compared to each other, then when they add allo they're going to have to make it much weaker than it's supposed to be so it's not overpowered compared to balanced stego
@thejaiganticbridge54792 жыл бұрын
Balancing doesn't mean equalizing, the proposed stats in the video makes it fair in the greater picture, not just current matchups. The carno and allo have different abilities and playstyles, so while the carno is suppose to struggle greatly, an allo has a 'fairer' matchup against the Stego, because Stego is suppose to be apart of its prey list. Just because the carno 'could' hunt a Stego doesn't mean they should, since it's extremely difficult.

Deino has about 20,000-22,300 psi of bite force which is almost 2x stronger than Rex’s 12,000-12,800 psi bite meaning that if rex has 1,200 damage per bite that would mean deino would have around 2,000-2,200 damage per bite. Also most deino specimens are heavier than most rex specimens so 6,550 hp is to low 7,000-7,800 would be a reasonable hp for its weight since the isle devs are making the evrima “more realistic” although I can see deino being way to op, this is how it was in real life so I don’t think it’s a problem. Also if there’s a 1.5x multiplier than deinos bite would do around 3000-3300 depending on its damage but with stego it would do around 4,000-4,600 damage

I know you said _current_ evrima, but, a lot of this sounds more like something that is fixed by adding more playables to the game to balance check the others. Like. Carno. I don't really see how you're comparing it to...Acro of all playables in a matchup against Stego. No matter how much faster a Carno is, none of the three mentioned playables (Allo, Alberto, Acro) would be so slow as to get hit more than once in a drive by attack. And this is before we get into how each would be much tankier, dealing way more dmg in Raw/Bleed/Fractures, and we still need to consider what their recovery rates will be like in a prolonged fight. Acro and Alberto should actually be fine. Allo on the other hand, and I say this as an Allo main, should decide it has better things to do with its life than bother an adult Stego. Same with Deino. The more playables you add, the better it becomes as the list of viable prey increases. It also gets checked more often by bigger creatures, but, that's the point. You're a river beast, stay near the water. The only thing I would give Deino, is a tail slap to stun smaller playables-not more dmg on the bite. Another thing, I think you could go further in balance by designing more biomes that better favor the mechanics and features of an individual in lieu of their stats. Such as barriers that hard block playables incapable of jumping or are simply to large to pass through an entrance.
@bigmoe98562 жыл бұрын

I will say that something I feel is very overlooked regarding The Isle's balance is collisions. The fact that creatures can run through each other is, in my opinion, the single biggest contributor to the power gap between large and small creatures. Because any creature can simply run through other creatures, bigger creatures are at a severe disadvantage, as their hitboxes are spaced out from their centre of mass, leaving a relatively safe window to attack and keep running. As such, to prevent small creatures from hitting them consequence free until they die, large creatures get more health to survive the hits. If collisions are implemented, everything changes. You can't just land an attack and keep going. Your opponent is now a physical barrier to you. Big creatures can now punish attacks more effectively, because their aggressor is now right there, and so big creatures don't need as much health. It's not much, but changing the combat from "hit and keep going" to "hit and stop", windows to attack require more consideration, players can now turn to present a threat, as opposed to watching as their aggressor keeps going and exits their range, and attackers trying to kite and harry have to account for turning and retreating. Loved the video regardless. Cheers.

Here is a suggestion, of which someone in the comments provided inspiration for; what do you think of an additional system to contend with during normal game play? I had some mediocre brainstorming, lemme know what you think... New status effect: Stress The way it would work: Stress would be a hidden status bar which would fill up during a hunt through the use of the "Threaten" displays, within a certain radius of the affected individual. Predatory individuals during an active hunt, would need to fulfill two requirements before the status condition "Stressed" afflicts an individual(s). Those requirements: being within the effective radius of an individual(s) being hunted, and the active usage of the "Threaten" display or 3 call during the hunt to apply and maintain the condition "Stressed" to the individual(s) being hunted. Once applied, the "Stressed" condition will cause the affected individual to bleed out faster. However, this effect will not be permanently applied when it is first achieved. The hidden status bar, after being filled, will then start to decay, forcing the hunting party to choose to maintain the decaying status bar by 3 calling periodically, or let it decay and lose the benefits from the "Stressed" condition. While actively "Stressed", the affected individual will bleed out X% faster than an individual who is not "Stressed". The percentage will differ between species. This Stress system is primarily a mechanic to create a usage for the 3 call, an alternate role during a hunt, to give incentive to bleed out targets, and a risk/reward during a hunt. This system will favor pack predators more so than lone hunters, primarily because it'll be easier to actually achieve the status effect and maintain it during the course of the hunt. However, there should be added caveats. Not all species should be treated the same within the Stress system. There should be a distinction and classification of which different species should fall under, to give a range of different play styles for individuals to choose to participate in. The idea I have is something like this: Herd/Pack: When there are 2 or more required individuals within a certain proximity to each other, let's say 35 meters, and are in a group, they will maintain the "Herd" or "Pack" condition. Being in a group relaxes the animals, so they are not so easily frightened. Note that not all species will have the same requirements to form and maintain Herds or Packs; an example being Tenontos can have a Herd of 2 individuals, where as a Pachy needs to have 3 individuals to be considered a Herd. Note, there'll also be a maximum of individuals to a Herd/Pack, or you'll create a "Mega Pack" and lose all the benefits of the Herd/Pack status. You cannot be near individuals who may be able to aid you in a hunt, and still benefit from the Herd/Pack condition. Also, for some species it'll be impossible to form a Herd/Pack, and for some species they can benefit from the Herd/Pack or Solitary conditions, but not both. While maintaining a Herd/Pack, the individuals within the group will have decreased Stress accumulation, making it require more 3 calls to be made to afflict the "Stressed" condition. As an added bonus, if individuals of a Herd/Pack become "Stressed", if they maintain closer proximity to other affected/unaffected individuals of the same Herd/Pack, let's say within 10 meters, just for argument's sake, they will accelerate the decay of the "Stressed" condition. So in effect, Herd/Pack animals will be harder to Stress, but are still susceptible. And when they do become "Stressed" they can continue to play as a group to remove the condition quicker. Solitary: When an individual is alone and not in a group, they aren't susceptible to Stress, since they are well equipped to deal with threats on an individual level. When a Solitary individual is confronted by a Pack, they cannot become "Stressed", as long as there are no individuals of the same species within a certain radius, let's say 50 meters, and they are not within a group. Some species can benefit from both being in a Herd/Pack or from being Solitary, but not at the same time. When an individual who is capable of benefiting from both Herd/Pack/Solitary, when the individual is a part of a Herd/Pack and/or a group, they lose the benefits of being Solitary. If the individual is a part of a Herd/Pack and is "Stressed", they cannot run from the Herd/Pack and abandon their group to benefit from the Solitary status until their Stress has decayed, and they have met the requirements for the Solitary status. However, if an individual's Stress level is rising, and they run from the Herd/Pack and fulfill the requirements for the Solitary status, whatever Stress has been accumulated will be removed. Timid: An individual of a species which is tagged as Timid, they are highly susceptible to Stress, being they are naturally alert and flighty, yet adept at escape or hiding. Timid individuals, such as Dryo, Hypsi, or Ptera, can be alone or in a group, however, they will suffer from an increased "Threatened" range and Stress accumulation. Timid individuals who are afflicted with the "Stressed" condition, once an attack lands the affected individual is guaranteed to bleed. However, they also have a higher decay rate for the "Stressed" condition. This provides small windows of opportunity to hunt Timid individuals and there's an added incentive to participate in the Stress system. To some players, this may seem as only a detriment, however, surprisingly, this can act in favor of Timid species. Let me explain. For now, most of what would be considered the Timid roster of species are low HP, smaller individuals who are highly mobile and can easily escape or hide. If any of them were to actually be hit, it'd most likely be game over for the individual anyway, so the guaranteed bleed and added bleed rate wouldn't alter the already established style of play for these species. However, it gives those hunting Timid species the choice to initiate a hunt by 3 calling to have an added benefit, or to remain hidden and ambush from stealth. Should the predatory player initiate a 3 call, any Timid individuals nearby will hear broadcast and have a chance to react and escape. If the predatory player chooses to remain hidden, the status effect won't inhibit the preyed upon individual(s). Thus, it'd be a detriment with a benefit. I know it's a lot of reading, but that's the rough idea, at a glance. We've already heard from the dev team that they were interested in a Stress system already, so we may see an iteration of "this" similar idea in the future to some extent. So it may not be too far fetched. I dunno though, what do you think?

Major props to you for truly going in-depth with these purposed changes, taking consideration of play style and changes. I've wanted to try out the game since it came out but several outside factors stopped me from buying it, but of late when I am considering it again, I'm sadden to hear what has happened to the game.

I listened to all of this and let me be honest, i could not disagree with one thing. This is amazingly planned and i agree with all the changes and hope they will be applied from the Devs

Utah's appearence is already a Nerf it self. Considering Feathers in dinosaurs helped in movement and also defense similar to fur.

Skins that let you pick feathers, fuzz, or neither would be a great feature! I know they have only shown recolors but I would gladly accept even that over everyone of the same species and sex twinning.

I would have completely forgotten The Isle existed with how long it takes for updates to happen, if it weren't for Pesky reminding me it's still alive.

In theory, this simplifies later balancing. All that is necessary from this point forward should be balancing against a few animals from each “tier” meaning you don’t have to analyze every single matchup

This has been insightful and I hope the devs actually take your advice to implement these changes. Thank you for your time Blue Carnotaurus man!
