I've watched his swing more than a hundred times, and it's just a beautiful piece of art

Errm, I started watching it over and over on VHS so I'm probably at a million by now 😂

Such a pure ball striker. I love the sound it makes when he strikes the ball.

One of the greatest days in Open Championship history. Thank you so much for the great memories.

As a working-class Brit I had zero interest in golf back then (and why would I) but Nick Faldo's stunning, gritty performances back then open my eyes. And through him I also fell in love with the Ryder Cup - such a unique and special tournament. Thank you, Sir Nicholas, for enriching the enjoyment of my life.

Sir Faldo has the swing of smoothness.

I could watch Faldo swing.. forever. Best looking swing, best tempo and rhythm and surgically effective. Love it. Fred Couples used to get all the praise for his “easy” swing. Faldo is easily in the same conversation.

Unreal contact aswell, that sound, particularly with the three-wood is unbelievable

Faldo was a different league to Couples...I loved his swing too. But for perfection, Faldo was the one. After Faldo it all became about power so was probably the last of a kind

I love how Faldo stares at the ball after any hole that isn't perfect, as if he's thinking: "ball, why do you hate me?". 😂

Can't believe he stopped the approach to the 1st so quickly downwind, also his approach to the 4th was uncharacteristically risky given his position but more or less flawless apart from that, except not as many putts dropped than over the earlier rounds!

I asked Nick Faldo for an autograph at the Irish Open as he walked off the 18th when I was 11. He said 'Fuck off kid'. Been rooting against him ever since.

Be good to know the manner in which you asked for his autograph. There’s always two sides to every story. I asked for his autograph at St Mellion in ‘91. “Later” was his reply as he strode on without looking. Didn’t bother me at all. Been rooting for him ever since.

Was fine with me in 1991 Birkdale. It was a practice day.

@@brianmcg321 The old people and the kid who asked for the autographs are Costner's parents and his son. Terrific movie.

No flash in Sir Nick’s game. Boring golf at its best.
