In the Disney+ series, 'Loki,' the god of mischief is arrested for time crimes. This confirms there's a multiverse in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Are there real scientific theories behind this fictional multiverse? Professor Michio Kaku, a professor of theoretical physics, helps break down the MCU multiverse.

Funnily, Michio Kaku, Neil Degrasse Tyson or Bill Nye aren't the only ones who seemingly appreciate or even love Marvel. If you look up videos on this site, plenty of scientists seem to vibe with Marvel. Then again, we need to remember that prior to the current "golden age of superhero movies", comic books used to be for nerds and geeks only. Guess what scientists used to be before graduating :P (and still are)?

@@amosp9411 that is true, it’d just take many years. Like as a graduate student in theoretical mathematics, I’m just now being able to comprehend the math of Quantum Field Theory (which is the most dominant quantum theory currently.) I’ve studied straight math and physics for almost 8 years now and I’m just now getting to the point of understanding it. It’s crazy how complex these are, so if there is someone who can explain it broadly in a few sentences (like Richard Feynman for example,) I’m extremely thankful for it.

That's because his "explanations" didn't actually explain anything and were aimed at elementary school children. His description of an Einstein-Rosen bridge was "you take one funnel, take the other funnel upside down, join them together, and you have a bridge, connecting two parallel universes." So a non-explanation of an unobserved theoretical phenomenon, that doesn't actually have anything to do with "parallel universes" in the first place. This guy is giving actual physicists a bad name.

Multiverses are fascinating. They exist, in my opinion, based on our choices. That's why Dr. Strange said In Avengers end game (I think ), "there are a million outcomes but none of them are favorable based on your responses". There are a million ways life can go based on our choices, there are a million alternatives, affecting our paths, hence the theoretical existence of multiverses and we are just living in one of many.

Way I see it, it doesn't really matter whether there's a big multiverse or just this one reality, us humans still experience life the same as we always did. Who cares if we're small? I can still think and feel, but the largest of stars (as far as we know) cannot. We humans and our fellow creatures are special in that way, and I'm satisfied with that.

@@aj3910 no theoretical means they have proved it on paper using mathematics. It doesn't mean it can't be proven in real life. Like Einstein proved the existence of gravitational waves(* I think in 1916) on paper and the gravitational waves were detected in 2016 100 years later. So these things just haven't been discovered yet.

the tree theory makes sense too me, I picture it as like the roots of the tree was before time was before existence they were all spread and they have all started somewhere without starting then they met in the middle to for the base of the tree, that’s where the chaos comes in. It’s like the timelines in the middle of the tree kind of just leave each other because it’s easier to stray away and there’s the branches. The branches off the branches could be something totally different like a spark in reality which kind of blows up and leaves us to start their own timeline. I know it might not make sense buts that’s how I picture it which is why I love space and always seem to learn something off it which I would never think to ever exist.
