For those having trouble with when a positive number becomes negative: When there is minuses in algebra, think of it as *”plus* a *negative”.* So turn the minuses into negative numbers then add. Ie a - 6 - 7b “a minus 6, minus 7b” Becomes a + *(-6)* + *(-7b)* “a plus negative 6, plus negative 7b” The minus symbol sticks with the term after it… Think of it like a fusion of the symbol and the term, becoming one. I had trouble with this and thought i’d share what helped me understand it better. Hope this helps.
