For the first problem, you solved for V final incorrectly. The 1/2 should go the left hand side multiplying with 2 which would become 4 2gh = 1/2v^2 4gh = v^2 v = √4gh since √4 =2, v = 2√gh two has to be outside of the square root

Yeah, I got the same answer. I just plugged the square of speed straight into the equation (g=9.8)
@TahaElAmineHaddouche2 жыл бұрын
can you explain how you got the answer , please ?i feel like i am missing something
@yuvalkoren40702 жыл бұрын
@@TahaElAmineHaddouche You assume E1=E2 when E1 is mgh when the object is at rest at the beginning, and E2 is (mv^2)/2+mg(2r), and solve for h. The velocity in E2 is the critical velocity that the object needs to have (at the very least) to continue in a circular motion and not drop off midway. The critical velocity is measured by the square root of the acceleration due to gravity (a=g=10m/s^2 in the Earth's case) times the radius of the circle. If you want I can send you a picture of the calculation.

Ok, so quick question why is it that when it is frictionless you are removing all of the m in question 4 but when it is friction you are plugging in the values for m?
@dangerous_woman9 ай бұрын
He can take m as a common factor on both sides and cancel it out if there’s no friction, for example mgh = 1/2mv^2 (the m’s go). But if there’s friction since m is not a common factor he has to include it, like mgh = 1/2mv^2 + W (m can’t go). Hope this helps.

Hello! I just had a question about number 6. For number 6 part (b) it said to find how high is point C relative to point B, but I think you found it relative to point A?
@zs11752 жыл бұрын
Hi, I just wanted to help out. I think it doesn’t matter in this case because the height at point B is 0m. 29.57-0=29.57. So you can calculate the height of C with A. You could also do calculate with B if you wish (using kinetic energy) and you should get around the same answer.

You're talking about the number of energy lost. Technically, it is correct to say the positive number. For example, you can say "I lost 30 dollars gambling yesterday" or "My back account has -30 dollars/my account went 30 dollars negative" so you can say energy exchanged/gained was -1350 or 1350 was lost

@malekhaddad58602 жыл бұрын
This was months ago so you prob figured it out by now, but in case someone else has this same question, gravity is independent of the path taken, think of it as always pushing down. So whether you are going sideways or not has no effect. Since gravity is the only force playing a role in how high up the hill it will go, the angle does not affect it.
