Do you have a video explaining why and how the values for electro-negativity (i.e. fluorine) are determined? Like, why is it 4 exactly? If not, can you make one? I'm gonna look for one on you channel, if you don't have a video on this topic, I hope you read this and make one. Love ur vids

But if polar bond needs to be .4 or less then how does it make zero and .3 nonpolar because they are less that .4 which should make them Polar?
@iqonah5905
@iqonah5905 2 жыл бұрын
Non polar bonds starts from 0.4 to less values. Polar bonds starts from 0.5 to 1.7. Higher than that is an ionic bond

I have a question:We say C-O bond is more easily breakable than the bond between C-H because of the differences of their electronegativity. But why don t we say that Li-Cl is most easily breakable bond instead we say it is ionic bond but electronegativity differences is bigger than the others. Should nt this be weaker from this point of view?

EN of Nitrogen = 3.0 EN of Hydrogen = 2.1
@matthewwilliams602
@matthewwilliams602 3 жыл бұрын
Because N is closer to F. Fluorine is the most EN element, so whichever element is closer to Flourine, it will be more electronegative.

Are ionic bonds polar or not? Please respond. Thank you! Which bond is more polar KCl or H2O? Which molecule is more polar KCl or H2O?
@mubasshirakhan7318
@mubasshirakhan7318 2 жыл бұрын
Since ionic bond has a positive and negative ion the bond is polar also KCl is more polar compare to H2O because K is from group 1 which is most positive and Cl is from 17th group which is most negative. However H2O shares covalent bonding and it is polar but less in comparison to KCl. Hope it helps.
