I don't know if it works in every airport, but it works in NYC. A long time ago, I had bought something at the airport food convenience store and they gave me a bag. I kept the bag and put my own food for the plane in it. TSA doesn't care how many bags you have with you, just as long as the stuff in them is allowed. Meanwhile, because of the CIBO vendor bag, I basically get to have 1 carry on (my backpack) and 2 personal items, because it looks like I bought food at the airport.
@TheoryofSimple Жыл бұрын
That is true! If it’s a food item, they presume you’re going to eat it and get rid of it when they collect the garbage. For me I am going to eat it but I’m going to have to keep my containers. I think as long as the airlines are not serving food, they have to be able to give people options to bring her own due to blood sugar issues, and like one of the flights I took earlier this year with my dad where we were stuck for a long time and all of the restaurants at the airport we were diverted to were closed by the time we landed so I think that is something they’re going to just have to allow until they start serving food again🤷♀️😊

I learned from flying during Covid that I can survive on a 4 hour ✈️ flight with a little bottle of water and a cookie. If I put a couple of granola bars in my backpack 🎒, they usually make the round trip, and I discover them when I get home. I have very well traveled granola bars.

I remember flying during Covid, and I was so afraid to take my mask off and even drink water! I usually bring more than just a couple snacks because I flew a few times where we were rerouted and ended landing and staying overnight somewhere and it’s late and nothing is open and it’s been a long day and just wanted a little something to snack on. Last time I traveled with my dad a four hour flight became a 36 hour ordeal.

So I just ordered news ones - largest size in the polar bears (for food), regular size in folk art birds (for travel kitchen) and mini child size in baby sloth (for sweet stuff, or I will totally overindulge in that category!) Btw have you seen Envikit? I just got one and love it. Thanks for sharing! I really enjoyed the video. I actually have that same miso soup, and prefer chopsticks too. I have been looking for a nice wooden pair to travel with that were sturdy enough. The snack containers with the lids attached is really a fabulous decision. As much as I enjoy my lock& lock little container with dividers, how many times do we need to drop the lid in turbulence? never again with it attached! I have used a cloth handkerchief to wrap food in before, but the waxed cloth is probably a better idea. I have used a small 10ml spray bottle for olive oil and used a packet of "real lemon" which is lemon juice that is crystallized like sugar. Packing some cooked rice could make a nice addition to the soup, and make it more filling without taking up a lot of space. sort of a step in between the snacks and a full meal.
@TheoryofSimple2 жыл бұрын
Hi LG! So happy you enjoyed the video and got some really great hacks and new accessories for your next travel adventure! I’ll have to try the little spray bottle for the olive oil. That’s a great tip!

Hi Eunice, I love all of you ideas, but I was thinking about the snack containers you got from the hardware store. They are a great size, but not necessarily made with food safe plastic. I use slim pill boxes with separate compartments. They are about the same size as your containers and 5 food safe plastic. Just something to think about.
@TheoryofSimple Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much and you’re absolutely correct. The ones from the hardware store or not food safe. However, I do feel since I’m not leaving food in there for very long and it’s not a liquid or being heated. It’s probably pretty safe.. although I do like your idea about the pillboxes, I just find the compartments are so small. But they do make food safe ones now on Amazon now snackle boxes are becoming more popular.💕😊
