Wow! Absolutely first-class dining. I am so inspired. I fly Coast-to-Coast about once a month for the last year-and-a-half, usually JetBlue. I just got a generic hotlogic Mini. It paid for itself on one one way trip since I'm not buying airport food. Since my departure and destinations are always Regional airports, I have 13 hour days on average with two layovers about 4 hours each, so that's two meals each way. Next time I fly on JetBlue, I have been tempted to bring the ingredients for rent classes signature cocktail and cook for myself food off the mint class menu. You have already outdone that. Presentation is so the key to fine dining and you have hit it out of the ballpark. My strategy, I have cloth napkins to use as a tray table tablecloth and a little Electric tea light, which I have seen used in first class by airlines elsewhere on KZbin. I would love to see what you would do in flight with the hot logic. Making your own hot towel service is now an option.

I saw this video and immediately ordered that adorable Bento box with the bamboo lid. I put it to work on a plane three days later. It was so handy on our trip, sealed up great, very compact! I packed yummy appetizers to go with a split of Prosecco on the trip over Including cured, smoked salmon and little rice crackers. Then we used it in the hotel room to store leftovers from dinner that we could eat for lunch the next day. Thank you. I’ll never pack food the same way for airplane trips again!

I agree. If you want to eat certain foods, it’s nobody’s business but yours. You do a stellar job and I have been learning so much. I’ve started collecting and putting together a small crossbody, away from town purse that adds to the small crossbody stuff, editing my car emergency bag and putting things aside for my personal and carryon bags. Also I am taking copious notes and thinking about a kitchen in a bag (2 bags). Love your presentations.

If you've never tried cooking bacon in the oven, you should try it out. That's my favorite method. I tried the air fryer too but wasn't as happy with it as regular oven baking. That sticker was too funny! I would've re-used it too. LOL

Looks like a great breakfast! A suggestion on your hot sauce would be to pour the equivalent amount in a small fruit bowl, then take your little squeeze bottle, press out the air and hold it until you position it upside down in the bowl. It will suck up the hot sauce.

I love bento boxes as much as the next person but I am lucky to get myself to the airport let alone prepare something like this to take along. I fly a lot and I learned during the pandemic that I can survive a 3-4 hour flight with a cookie and a little bottle of water. There's enough restaurants and snacks at major airports if you're absolutely starving. I love airport sushi and $14 sub sandwiches 🥪. You're definitely going above and beyond.

You could put a salad with some high protein, chickpeas, or edamame in that, and then just bring a little bit of lemon juice and olive oil in those little tiny containers, and make yourself a salad, or even just sauté some veggies and maybe put in some rice and make yourself a nice Asian meal. So many variations that you could do for these boxes! Maybe I’ll try to make one next time that’s completely vegan!😊

I'm a Type 2 diabetic and need very low carb meals. I often bring snack bars, but I might reconsider bringing a bento box next flight. BTW, to get liquids in those tiny bottles, I put the liquid/ sauce in a bowl and then squeeze the air out of the little bottle so it sucks up the maximum amount of liquid into itself. Basically, the reverse of what you do to put the sauce on your food/ drink!

Also as a hint, I too do low carb and high protein for other medical reasons and I found that egg white are great for protein and only 17 cals per egg. By the way, egg whites and egg yolks are close in protein and actually egg yolks carry more protein than egg whites gram for gram but also egg yolks carry the fat and all of the other micro nutrients that are so good for you that egg whites don’t carry so we tend to eat the whole egg. Also research is starting to show that cholesterol issues are not caused by eating cholesterol as much as by eating carbohydrates and sugars, which damage the lining of the veins and arteries, which cholesterol, tries to fix and heal.❤️🙏😊

Yes, especially now on domestic flights in the United States they don’t serve anything. Plus we are on a specialized diet so we have to make sure we pack what we can eat and stay healthy.😊🙏❤️

Im definitely doing the meal for india trip. All be it a diabetic friendly one as both my husband and I ( gosh i sound like the Queen. God rest her soul ) are diabetics. Do you think you could’ve popped the little egg quiches out of the silicone and they would’ve kept their shape? Then it would be one less thing to wash while you’re on your trip. I love this idea! Thank you for sharing.

Hi there, yes, I could definitely hip-hop them out of the silicone and they would’ve stayed fine in the Betos, but I wanted to have the silicone cupcake holders with me in case I decided to bring home some snacks that I wanted separated in the bento box. Plus with staying at an Airbnb. I would be able to make some more egg bites for us during the trip.😊

Aha! Good plan! I love making egg bites for a quick breakfast. I have 2 teenage boys and I often make a bunch of the egg bites and freeze them.

Those look so incredibly delicious, and beautiful! Food presentation Japanese style really is an art form, isn't it? What a wonderful way to begin a flight after an obscenely early start to the day! I love using those little shaped food cutters as well. Just out of curiosity, do you make osechi ryori at Shogatsu? My boyfriend in Japan taught me how to make it my second winter in Miyazaki, after he had finally gotten up the courage to tell his samurai-descended parents that their only surviving son had a girlfriend who was not only not of Samurai ancestry, but a gaigin to boot! I brought two beautiful osechi bento boxes at Yamakataya and we made all the osechi components from scratch. Now that would make a fascinating video to watch!

@@TheoryofSimple It took us 4 whole days, working together - I was a neophyte, but of course my boyfriend, being Japanese, knew what he was doing. It is extremely time consuming, but fun - I love Japanese cooking! I have done a classic Shogatsu meal a few times for friends since returning to Canada (when I lived in an area where the ingredients were available - alas, I would have to drive 5 hours now to find the closest grocery store with Japanese ingredients.)

Thank you so much 😊 Well, they were real bloody Mary’s in the sense that they were the mix and the vegetables, but I cannot have alcohol, so they were virgin🤪 the bento boxes, get packed away, and then used on the trip to store any other food or pack up for picnics❤️🙏😊

The best way to fill bento bottles is to put a small amount of liquid in a shalow cup, squeeze the bottle, put the mouth of it under the surface of the liquid and release. The bottle will suck the liquids right up, no mess!

So I did try that and it does suck up some but it doesn’t fill up the bottle and it leaves some left into the dish. So my newest way is to use an injector and fill them😊 ❤️

Well, as of this, posting the airlines, do not prohibit you from bringing your own food onto the plane. However, you know how things could change these days. The only restriction is if you’re bringing something like a liquid it still has to Be 3.4 ounces or less and that includes the container not being able to carry more than 3.4 ounces. For example if you have a 6 ounce bottle but you only have 3.4 ounces of liquid in it, they will take it but that being said food is definitely something you are allowed to bring through TSA and on the plane with you. since most airlines do not have a food service any longer. This is a great way to make your flight a little nicer especially if you’re going for several hours.😊💕

Ok. Brilliant idea. Looked so beautiful in the box and I'm certain it was delicious. I'm going to try this on my next flight. I too am on a high protein and fat eating plan to bring down my a1c levels and it's working. Just a suggestion: use heavy cream rather than half and half. Heavy cream has zero sugar. Loved the video. Thank you so much !❤️😊🙏Yes, most the time at home I use heavy cream, but it’s very hard to find heavy cream when you’re traveling and honestly the carb difference for 1 tablespoon (.4g vs .6g) it’s not worth the hassle. I can get these little mini moos and these little containers that don’t need to be refrigerated and then carry them on board with me and use them during my travels.. 😊❤️🙏

Thank you! It’s not something I do all the time but when we travel together, I try to make it a little special since traveling these days is pretty horrific! Plus it’s so hard to find healthy food so I try to bring what I can to eat fairly healthy. 😊

Thank you! This bento was for US domestic flight. When traveling internationally with a Bento box, you want to make sure you either eat it all or throw it out with the garbage, the flight attendants collect because some countries won’t let you bring food in. I haven’t found it individually packaged chai. I do however, have a chai tea bag of some spices that go really well together and make a great cup of chai on the plane and I will be putting that in a video soon.!😊❤️
