Great interview. They are telling my and countless others. Got 9 years now. There's such wisdom and honesty here. At least from my own experiences in order for me to even listen to someone about staying sober I needed someone who had been there and was completely honest. Didn't hide the horrible situations they were in. If a person is handing you a sheet of paper to read for me I would roll my eyes and throw it out. I never went to AAor anything. I know it works for alot of people, but for me their life still revolves around drugs and alcohol. If your going to a eating a day, two a day I just feel like it's still controlling you.i was just ready though. Maybe that's the difference. It wasn't working court thing or intervention, I had just had enough. Walked 8 miles to an emergency room and said you gotta help me. Anyone out there struggling don't beat yourself up. Everyone messes up. One day of sobriety is a monumental task when your in the thick of it. Your trying. You will get there. Eve tally the guilt and embarrassment of your addict life will go away. Do you use any substances at all? Caffeine? Nicotine? Alcohol? Pharmaceuticals? I know of very few people who have truly been sober most of or their entire lives and most ex "hardcore addicts" always have some sort of crutch. Whether it be caffeine, pills, extreme sports or sex. Very few people are completely sober in this day. Even Mormons that won't even use caffeine. Drink Ephedra tea flat out. Ephedra tea is far more stimulating and euphoric than pseudoephedrine.

Every one says they're chasing that first time - fuck. Every speedball was the first time. That's how good it is or people wouldn't become addicts. I shot for thirty years. You can drink meth for four days, have one night of not sleeping but not sick and be okay. Their lie is that you have to he on meth for the rest of your life. At 67 yrs, I'm clean. Not that it's anybody's business and not that it matters. Never been to rehab. Wild Horses would have to drag me. People asked me how I stopped. I said, I called it a night. After I found out I was going to prison the next time I got arrested - I called it a night.

Funny you guys mention methadone for pain, I am in methadone purely for pain management - crazy right? Particularly because I have never been what the status quo would class as a “junkie” nor have I ever used heroin intravenously or for recreational purposes (my poison has always been hallucinogens). I was put on methadone because, as Billy noted, it has a long half life (stays active in your system). To add insult to injury, had Australia made medical cannabis more easily available & affordable, I doubt I ever would have needed to go down the opioid path As a fellow musician, I absolutely love the madhouse chronicles! I look forward to each episode & as soon as I see there’s a new one up, I drop everything and watch the boys “talk shop”, to turn a phrase. What did Bon say?? In Brazil we also have a place in São Paulo and in large cities where there is a large concentration of open-air drug sales, it is called "Cracolândia", it would be the equivalent of the land of crack... "crackland". However, here, large corporations have a scheme with the police to keep these Cracklands in strategic locations, with the aim of devaluing the price of property there, and then when all the residents and shopkeepers leave the neighborhood, they remove the drug dealers and drug addicts. , they buy everything, and sell it 4 times more expensive.

I would like to correct Billy. Methadone is small dosages is used for chronic pain control. I have had multiple cancers and major surgeries and to control the after effects after all other opioids fail, I am on 5 mg three times a day of Methadone. I have been on this for over five years. I have had relief although I have attempted to skip or lower the dosage myself and the withdrawals are HORRENDOUS. Stomach bug and flu combined hurt less then those withdrawals. It does get in the bones though. It is used a higher dosages for heroine addicts subsitutions. I am at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston TX. It is a pain medication that although works on my chronic pain, I wish I never used and honeslty would have rathered die from cancer at times.

Great podcast lads ❤ What if we didn't treat addiction as a disgusting thing, what if we treated junkies like living breathing humans! Tier by tier to intergrate them back into society. Relapse means back to the first tier! Progres means a better life❤

@TheOsbournes I was wondering if Ozzy or his production company has a collection of every tour tee shirt made from all his tours? That would be an amazing book or episode to go through some to reminisce some forgotten tour stories ??

The inevitable Ozzy Biopic will have to be a 3 hour Epic of a man setting the precedent for rock star excess and destruction. A man who partied so hard he has no memory of a 12 year period and scientists had to study him.

As someone that doesn’t suffer from this type of addiction, it is difficult to relate. I do appreciate your candidness & straightforward approach in discussing your personal experiences. I applaud your courage. I think it is admirable to tell your stories as it may reach someone with similar addiction issues that needs to hear it. I suppose we all suffer from one type of addiction or another, though don’t we? If it’s not illegal drugs or alcohol, it might be nicotine, or food, or RX drugs, or other affliction.

I became addicted when i was 13 from doctors prescriped opioids for back pain. Later i used heroin, prescription fentanyl, morphine, nitazenes, hydromorphone and many other opioids. Now i am on monthly buprenorphine injection and it works well for my pain and i don’t grave getting high. I am addicted to it but it is only medication that works for me and my life is great now.

in the live chat i said i never did hard drugs, but i did try salvia twiced. i gotta correct myself bc i was given a dose of fentanyl via IV when i had my last child. the nurse administering said it would make me feel like i had several glasses of an exquisite vintage wine, i would say it felt more like every cell in my body was inflated with helium. i felt utterly euphoric, and it hit me immediately, which is to say the way i felt is an understatement to how it actually felt bc i fear if were to describe it honestly it would drive an old dope head to relapse.

What’s that? A form of pot or Acid? I had fent before in hospital as well, for a spinal tap. I don’t consider this breaking your sobriety luv

i would be the only one in the comments who has lived like ozzy but its great to know ozzy just smokes a bit of pot here and there now. thats all ive done since quiting hard drugs and booze 3 years ago, the only thing i do is tiny, macro miniscule amounts of pot. and that helps in every way... couldnt be sober for more then a few days without pot. so to get to 3 years at this point, its clear pot helps in every way, i suggest to anyone who wants to live sober, just quit everything and only smoke tiny bits of pot, youll be fine in a few years, figure your life out and choose who you want to become. god bless all.
