I was a reformed Protestant who thought that reformed theology knew it all, but now I'm in OCIA and it blows my mind how true, beautiful, and biblical the Catholic church is.

I too knew something was missing in my "sola scriptura" years of protesting. Through the Catholic church, slowly, I began to understand that my relationship with Christ was supposed to be tangible. He means to touch His Bride for REAL. One Body. Well explained dear one.

Yes CCC 787-789. The body of Christ is the Catholic Church. He is in the Sacraments, He is in us and we are in Him. Gospel of John Chap. 6, 15... Pretty much every where in NT.

Hello, Candice. I am writing to you from the north of Argentina. I am a cradle Catholic, like most of those who live here. I found your channel by chance. I am currently in charge of Catechesis for Adults in my Chapel, San José Obrero, and I must thank you for the many and very good ideas that you give me to expose the mysteries of the Faith. I am a Professor of Philosophy and currently studying a Bachelor's Degree in Theology. God bless you and your family.

It's amazing to me as a cradle traditional Catholic to see converts talking about theosis. Another great subject is the prophecy of Malachiah 1, 11, its fulfillment in the Mass, and ancient Christian writers who followed this interpretation.

May I share the following inspiration that came to me and which I wrote on the front inside sleeve of my Bible on 28th April 2021: The Eucharist "The spiritual fusion of mind, body and soul with Christ's body, blood, soul and divinity, without which we are spiritually malnourished" Thank you, Lord. There is a very good Catholic book on Theosis by Fr Matthias Scheeben called "The Glories of Divine Grace". If you're familiar with Dr Scott Hahn he regards Fr Scheeben as one of his favorite Catholic theologians and he wrote a foreword to a reprint of this work. It's such a great book I thought I had to mention it here.

One more comment: I experience the Eucharist as the place in time where mysticism becomes accessible to everyone and everyday. Thursday (when I sent this to my friends) it was like this: Normal evening mass - in the Christmas octave at least, and on the feast of the apostle and evangelist John, who was also a real mystic... Maybe that was the reason... But today the horizontal and vertical lines of history and life came together again. Friends had written to me from the evening mass on the island of Sylt five minutes before our mass began. As the bread was broken, a wind blew inside me... and I saw that exactly this had already been done in the desert of Israel, in the hills and forests of the West and at the same time in thousands of places throughout the ages... So incredible . You are in a German town (my parents hometown) in some church. Yet all times and places are connected in the One who is at the center - inconspicuous - but universal in the inconspicuousness...

Another key text for the doctrine of deification/theosis (we can also say Christification) is 2 Peter 1:4 (also quoted by the Catechism of the Catholic Church) that we become "parttakers of divine nature." If one believes that this happens not only in heaven but already here on earth, it necessitates an understanding what the Catholic Church (and the Orthodox) have and it also necessitates the idea of a process since everying here on earth is incomplete and thus must "grow" toward heaven which is the final fulfillment. Not only that, but the grace we must receive for this monumental and ontological change to occur, requires extraordinary and specifically ordained means through which God effects in us this transformation, i.e., not by a simple act of faith at any time, place, words, etc., of our choosing. Hence the pivotal role of the Church's Sacraments instituted by Christ that are only able to effect this kind of ontological change, that is, for us to become human/divine.

All ancient churches with Apostolic tradition, such as the Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Coptic Orthodox, Armenian Orthodox, Syro-Malabar Orthodox, Assyrian Church of the East, etc, hold the Holy Eucharist not as a mere symbol, but as the true Body and Blood of Christ, a living reality that nourishes and transforms the faithful.

I liked all your videos intro.. Beautifully summarised with great animation/editing..... Love from India 🇮🇳. Fellow Catholic. Can you make more shorts regarding the faith as most ignorant people will at least watch shorts, so we as catholics can share them. Keep creating more videos, so even us can know more about the Catholic faith. Don't let the negative (mostly protestants) comments bring your spirit down. Viva Cristo Rey 🇻🇦

Wonderful - really another great video. And the production is getting better and better. The intro for example is really excellent. Thank you. But most importantly the whole greatness and beauty of the Christian faith through the whole Catholic tradition is getting more and more opened to you. That is great to see. It is simply an enchanted life, much richer than what other people can imagine... Not without difficulties, pains and suffering. But richer than anything else... God bless you. Merry Christmas!

@@richardcastro1276 Being Confessional means accepting and holding to the doctrines laid out in the Book of Concord, which is a collection of the following documents: the Apostles', Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds, the Augsburg Confession, the Apology to (Defense of) the Augsburg Confession, the Smalcald Articles, the Treatise on the Power and Primacy of the Pope, the Small Catechism, the Large Catechism, and the Formula of Concord (both Epitome and Solid Declaration). Being "Confessional" is therefore a doctrinal term, referring to what the pastor, congregation, or church body believes, teaches, and confesses.

Wonderful! BTW, have you read "Crossing The Tiber" by Stephen K. Ray? I'm halfway through it and it might be one of the BEST Evangelical-to-Catholic apologetics books ever written (and I think many, many people are unaware of it). Might be something to review one day on your channel.

Great Job. Awesome video. Grace by definition "is unmerited divine assistance given to Humans for their regeneration or sanctification. To sanctify means to 'free from sin'. Sanctification by definition means action, and is a process. The problem that occurs is "what process does one take to obtain this grace?" Studying the bible, as an example is good. But how does studying what actually swallowed Jonah sanctify me? In fact, prior to John 6, in John 5 Jesus says "You search the scriptures, because you think you have eternal life through them but you do not want to come to me to have life". Ironically, this preceded immediately the bread of life discourse. Does reading the bible "sanctify us"? Not primarily, not according to Jesus, and nothing in scripture tells us that studying the bible sanctifies us. If reading the bible "sanctifies us", then everything we read should help us turn away from our sins. In fact, so many reading the bible, become angered or disillusioned, and they attack others for their beliefs. The Imitation of Christ highlights this wonderfully.

After listening to James White debate Bart Ehrman, right after I attended mass, I was left with even less doubt that when Jesus said "eat my flesh, and drink my blood" he really meant it. Bart, an atheist, has a platform where he discusses the unreliability of the gospels. JW of course cannot answer that properly because he refuses catholic teachings. Jesus came to give us eternal life. Eternal, by definition, means "having infinite duration, continued without intermission, perpetually endless, and valid or existing at all times". This in no way, shape or form, could be the written word. The gospels are relatively new, were written by unknown authors, have different nuances, were written in a language not remotely close to ours, and translated using words unknown at that time. "Whale" in Jonah and the whale, or even the word "Jehovah", are man made through poor translation, which thus makes the bible "adulterated", and unless you own an authentic Catholic bible, the bible non Catholics use, has been corrupted. The only thing that we know of in the bible that remains uncontaminated, was Jesus and Mary. Thus the only thing that fits the definition of eternal is Jesus himself, but more importantly, his body itself, that was never contaminated by man, never needed editing, never needed translation, nor could ever be misinterpreted. I should thank both Bart and James for showing me how even more true the catholic church is.
