How wide was the dress? How much elastic did you use?

The dress was 1/4 yard of fabric. The elastic half of that.

Just measure her upper body, then you will double that number. If you want the bottom of the dress full you may add 1/4 yard more. The length will be your choice. Measure from her shoulder down to her knees to figure out the length you can go down to her ankle if you like a maxi dress.

SEW ALDO : aw thank you for a prompt reply.. one more advice from you plz.. can I do the the shirring Technics for her bodice measurement and the cut her neck and shoulder and arm hole from that.. like a normal bodice cutting ( as she is growing big and I want a full covering dress .. her neck both front and back) Will that still look pretty?
