People tend to forget that we will have a back 2 back season with almost no break between tournament and start of new season. With the Club World Cup next Summer many players wont have a propper break. Its like 3 weeks from the end of Club World Cup to start of season 25/26. Without a "big squad" you cant deal with that many games within 2 years. The option would be to run players into the ground. We have some players who needs their minutes managed carefuly. Neto, Nkunku,, W.Fofane, Reece are just a few examples with a "serious" injury background.

Goykores is 26 and turns 27 next June. I won’t buy into the PR because these owners are not serious. Duran will probably be the one we end up signing in my opinion. Goykores next season will be 27 with a 70-90m transfer fee, I doubt these owners will put him on a 7 year contract.

We are now a crèche for kids, the blue peter club, so Gyokeres is probably just the carrot that’s being dangled on the end of an expertly long fishing rod. We will buy Jhon Duran close to deadline day in January lol. Gyokeres can’t be put on one of those long contracts like the others and I don’t see us signing him for 80 million for 3 years. Although he fits the wage structure nicely, the payments need to be spread out so we aren’t screwed by FFP.

If GYOKERES is so great why did no PREM team get him from Coventry lol ? Looks like another £100m continental flop waiting for someone gullible enough to pay the bill. We never learn it seems. PREM defenders and midfielders will muscle him off the ball and he’ll be no better than JACKSON. I would rather develop NKUNKU and FELIX into strikers, at least they are forwards with high skills and good in the central area. If we must buy, get someone cheaper to compete with Jackson.
