I love auto disaster, it adds an element of unpredictability to a very predictable game. Also, if a disaster hits the city, you get the pleasure of rebuilding it with more cool buildings and areas.

there's an option in the zoning section that lets you manually place buildings, and they're functional. (:

You use the Manual Building tool, They still work as Residential or Commerical buildings, thats how I make Factories & Apartment complexes with a specific theme, or gas station stops
