Life is indeed very short. I’m a cancer survivor of 11 years. Cancer killed my father and my mother spent the last 3 years of her life in misery. That’s why I retired as soon as I could. You just never know what is ahead. Starship Troopers- they needed better weapons 😊

30 years old and a cancer survivor of 1 year now! It is definitely a scary, life altering event and he is correct. Do what you love with the people you love while you can. Not everyone gets so lucky and I am now working with my wife on our life’s dream. We finally got our first camp in since the diagnosis and it was surreal. Even the small moments in the woods have helped a lot.

Life turns on a dime. Because of an accident I'll never camp again - lucky to be alive, but never take for granted simple things like walking around! Get that air and sun whenever you can, you don't know when you may not get the chance again. Thanks to streamers like Luke, people like me get to live vicariously - it brings back great memories (camping was a family thing that i carried into adulthood) and sometimes i swear i can smell the pine!

Hey, I'm sure you've considered it already and stuff, but here in California the majority of state campgrounds have at least one or two wheelchair accessible sites, and Im sure that's the case elsewhere too. I'm not sure if this would even help whatever your particular situation is, or if you've already tried it and couldn't do that, but just thought I'd let you know to check out campgrounds for accessible sites!

That thunderstorm sounds awesome in the mountains 😍 we love sitting on the porch when it storms. I've taken the beef jerky and freeze dried bbq and put it in a cup of boiling water to simmer. Life is short, I e been given a second third and fourth chance. I now live every day as if it's my last. I've survived cancer, a brain tumor and two heart attacks, in 15 months.

I noticed this year bears in our area (Idaho mountains) acting "out of character". We had a non existent huckleberry season for some strange reason so their feeding habits were weird. Our camp lost a 50lb bag of elk meat hung really, really high up. The camp across from us lost half of their deer that was also hung really high! They had no fear also of us....

Wow, your video recording and production is fantastic, Luke! These videos are quickly heading towards movie-quality, and you are capturing the atmosphere, sounds and feel perfectly. Really enjoy your content, and you can turn a bad weather day into something pretty special better than anyone. Your comments about health ring true. When we are fit and healthy we really take things for granted. When your health goes bad and you can't do the things you love (or even everyday tasks) it hits hard. Make the most of life whilst you can, great advice... Brilliant stuff mate, keep them coming!

Canadian rations. They are called IMPs not MREs. In fact, IMPs came first (circa 1980). With that in mind, perhaps MREs should be referred to as 'American IMPs'. 😁 The first bag you opened was the LMC which is not a meal. It is additional calories/snacks to augment the daily diet in more challenging circumstances such as the arctic or long-range patrolling. The little snack packets can be used in lieu of full rats for certain tactical situations. As soon as the IMPs are issued they get stripped down to the basics and all the unnecessary crap removed. These usually get tossed back in the bag and put in the ruck. Saves weight and space. It's not 'plain' hamburger. It's 'pain' - French for bread. All labels have to be bilingual.

My most heart felt sympathies to those that have moved on to the next great adventure. The last time I saw my Dr. (Last week) they have given me 2 months. I have kidney failure. Haven't done dialysis for a little over 2.5 years!!!!! To anyone that is having kidney problems, and you still have, some, functionality, get a near infrared belt and lay on it. It WILL help allot. Look for LEDs in the 660nm AND 880nm wave lengths. THOSE are the best frequencies. Lay on the belt for 3 hrs a day till you feel better. Pay attention to what your body is telling you. Luke as always, I love your storm videos!!! Like being right there next to you. I was in my tent this summer, in my backyard, and a HUGE storm rolled thru. I had 3" of water running everywhere. But my Snugpak Cave stayed bone dry. Love this tent. Till next video Luke!!!

Luke, Ive heard those Canadian MREs are really good and more healthy than our US MREs, (meals refusing to exit.) But they don't last as long in real world conditions. I had a friend in the oilpatch back in the late 70's who had a pet BEAR cub. The guy took him around on the job with him, but had to leave him in his welding truck. . . that bear cub ate the steering wheel and most of the seats one day😂😂🇺🇸

Your videos have really become works art. The multi camera panning, perspectives, sound details, all of it comes together to make a fantastic little movie. One of my favorite parts about your videos that set them apart from the rest is you know when the best way to convey a message is to say nothing at all. Brilliant intro! I loved how the intro music's ending coincided with your dropping the ruck against a tree, haha! It seemed quite professional. Little things like that make it great. I always love these stormy, miitary gear reviews the best, anyways. That rigging of the gas tank was a pretty neat and expedient trick. One thing I was thinking about when you mentioned having to often re-tighten tarps and stuff after stretching a bit is a nifty little piece of kit called Cam-Jams. They work wonders for just such a thing and will keep you a lot more dry because depending on how you utilize them, you are either able to manipulate them from under cover or spend much less time out from unde cover adjusting... Thanks for another great vid!

Love watching the mist moving through the trees, and the sound of rain is one of the most relaxing things I know. Still waiting for the rainy season to start here. If it's on time it will be another ten days or so.

A first class video. Great, thought provoking words about life. And appreciation you showed to your viewers. I'm 68 , still working most days that end in a 'Y' (have too 🙄😊) Hate the lifestyle but I'm out in the fresh air ,all seasons and I have a pulse, can see, smell and feel. So no real complaints . Puts life into perspective. Thanks and appreciation from the UK 👍

What beautiful colors!! I love how green everything gets after the rain. Around minute 21, the colors just pop!! Or maybe that's your fancy camera's doing. 😁 I then thought that the music you started playing around 21:25 was some weird noise... like a tsunami alarm or UFO. 🤣🤣 Major Stranger Things vibes. I love the storms, so your last like 10 videos have been awesome!!

Yeah that one picture taken just after the storm broke looked surreal. Hard to believe those were the natural colors!

Came to comments looking for the music info. Big fan of ambient/drone music. It fit the tone of the scenery quite well.

Love your videos Luke, beautifully done. Really enjoy putting gear to the test. Not much rain here in Ohio , but I will definitely be out in the tent. Testing my new Lanshan 2p tent. Great so far I really like the quality for such a reasonable price.

Hey Luke, I wanted to say I probably speak for a lot of people when I say I think you need to make more camping shows. We really don’t like the reviews or at least I don’t. But luv watching the camping shows, you are so real and not a lot of people are nowadays, so keep keeping it real and consider my request,…Please!!!!

Luke👍👍 Once again we get to see you endure(enjoy)a rain camp overnighter, you seem to never tire of these. This time a nice tent was utilized with the tarp to make the night cozy and restful. Bears will be bears..totally unpredictable. The military pack looked good, the military meals not so much... Great filming given the circumstances, always done well, thanks for the work. I can see now we're in for another rainy, muddy camp coming up, no worries as we're used to them by now😉 See ya next time. Enjoy!

Luke, keep up the good work and enjoy the time you have camping. Spend as much time with your family. As I've said before my wife was just diagnosed with liver disease and we both used to love camping and traveling and that has now all changed.

You’re getting better and better with your videos Luke due the the right music at the right moment that’s being played in each segment. Like the real movies!

I have had a young black bear around my cottage (northeast Georgia). That fool would try to chew anything. He’s older and wiser now. Recently I had a young possum chew through my car engine wiring harness. The joys of the woods. I love your videos. Keep them coming. I’m from the C ration era. Trading and creative were important skills. The Marlboros and peanut butter were great trade items.

Luke, I'm a 3 time cancer survivor. This last time with stage 4 I have to take a treatment every other week but I stay in remission. I am planning to do some camping this coming spring and summer and fall. But I'm going to be doing mostly car /tent camping and I see a lot of gear I can use here from your channel. Enjoy your videos, stay safe and may god bless you and your family.

Cancer stuff got me too. Diagnosed at 33. I'm 35 now and cancer free. The treatment really takes a permanent toll, but I guess it's better than the alternative. Did it for my kids.

Yay the music is back. Luke I thought this was the hurricane video. I usually watch at night but dove right in and from the opening scene I was nervous as heck...lol. Your set up was fantastic, it looked so cozy and you sir looked well rested from beginning to end. You are a real McGuyver having fixed that lawn mower with bubble wrap. My condolences to the family of those who have passed on.
