Don't change the way you do anything! I'm 70 yrs young with joint disabilities. I love camping and being in nature. Since I can't do some of the things I used to do I can at least feel like I'm out there with you camping. I love the tent you're using! I'd love to afford one. I believe I could set it up myself after seeing you do it. I set up down by the pond out at my kids farm and stay for days at a time. My 10 yr old granddaughter stays with me. We've got 40 acres to stay on with a beautiful 2 acre pond full of great fish. You can take the Grandma out of the country but you will never take the country out of me!

It was great hearing about the biscuits and gravy. It was my grandmas favorite meal. She lived to be 100 1/2. When you asked her how she lived so long she would always say biscuits and gravy. It was even that last meal she had. Thanks for reminding me of a great memory. She was an amazing woman.

As a Canadian, poutine (poo-tin), is nothing like your biscuits and gravy. Poutine is French fries (crispy) with cheese curds on top and then smothered in a brown gravy! A Canadian favourite!!! One day I will attempt to make biscuits and gravy! I enjoy your channel very much! Keep it up!

Hi Luke. Y’all’s temps are great. We are in the high 80s and 70s at night. But we have been out of the tornado weather. 1 tornado a year is plenty for anyone. My heart goes out to all who have been affected. I am a weather person and watch it closely. I like the tent but I would use it for 2. Our tent is for 6 but we are the only ones besides the dogs that stay in it. Looking forward to this trip. Enjoy you Luke. Thanks for all your positive thoughts.

I’m the old guy who can take the spice, the hotter the better. A hot chicken restaurant in Nashville called Party Fowl has a menu item right up my ally. It’s a half chicken called poultrygiest and it burns before the first bite. Thirty minutes after finishing I think I learned what a hot flash was. Literally head to toe burn and sweating, so fun!

Watching the Korean Ladies Camping videos is the way I would like to camp if I wanted to camp. They have super large comfortable tents (or homes). They cook real food versus freeze dried crap. Everything is comfortable looking. They even watch movies. As a veteran from the 60's who avoided the ham and eggs which usually had the same color of the C-ration can, camping the Korean women way looks like the way to go.

I once went camping in the Peak District, by myself, with a very small tent that my kids had used for Duke of Edinburgh expeditions. I had been camping with my family for years in family sized tents. Discovered I was claustrophobic. I had to sleep in my car and buy a new tent the next day. My husband couldn't believe I had purchased another tent.

As a 53 year old American who grew up in the southeast - like, the bbq southeast - I’ve learned recently that apparently biscuits and gravy is a “thing” here. Funny story: once some friends and I stopped at Cracker Barrel very late. One of my friends, to the surprise of the rest of us, ordered biscuits and gravy. No idea they even had it. But the funny part is the waitress came out to check on us my friend said the biscuits and gravy were amazing. She said well we’re about to close so if he wanted more he could have it for free; if not they’re just going to throw it away. He said well if you’re saying it’s basically garbage, then yes!

Best car camping tent i've ever had (and still have) is the Alps Mountaineering Meramac 6. Not sure how long i've had it but it's outlasted all the others. Only 2 poles for the tent and 1 for the rainfly. Super easy to setup since the tent just clips to the poles. It fits a queen mattress with plenty of room to spare without it being too big of a package. Never had a drop of rain inside but last year I sprayed the tent anyway.

The sound of rain on a tent or tarp is so soothing. It's the most exposed that one can be to nature without getting wet. Drying out wet gear is no fun, though, especially on a long term hike. I have been doing long hikes for years, and was so glad when DCF (formerly Cuben Fiber) became available, and I bought a hammock tarp made from it. It hardly holds any water (just whatever sticks by surface tension), doesn't stretch, and dries super quick. That's quite a tent!

I love this tent! I've always bought the big tents, because I've always had kids camping with me. Now that they are all adults and have their own tents, I still have an 8 man tent lol...I finally have all that space to myself! I haven't been camping yet tho. It has been CRAZY here with severe weather...Minden, IA half hour west of me, took a direct tornado hit in April...and then Greenfield, IA half hour Southeast, had a tornado rip through town just last week. 🥺 We all decided to wait a little longer before getting the tents out. I miss my campfire coffee 😏

Love this tent. Yet. I dnt own it,but it's in my crosshairs for me and grandson, and an x that I consider a fun camper to accommodate to.

I used an 8 person 12 foot by 12 foot Outback lodge tent with one main center pole that was 9 feet high. Perfect tent for two people with or without cots. It held up great in strong winds and heavy rain. Glad you got to test a large tent for the extra comfort it offers. They can be a lot of fun if you have a campsite large enough to set it up.

Luke, Poutine is absolutely delicious. What it consists of is hand cut fries, white cheese curds sprinkled on top and then covered in brown gravy. I was introduced to it when I went to Canada. You must try it. It's very high in calories but ohhh so good. By the way I love your channel. sending Much love your way.

Being from WV, I can't even imagine life without biscuits and gravy! I am looking forward to your review on that fire pit thingy. I want one, but will wait for your opinion on it. That is one big tent! A person could have a dance party in it.

When I get to my cabin which is off grid this weekend I’m gonna stay for a week or two I’m gonna be working on putting bigger longer lasting batteries and putting another bigger solar panel on the roof adding to the three that are already installed and I gotta clean those lol and I’ve got a updated and more powerful charge controller and it has usb ports and I gotta cut the grass too lmao !!

Great video Luke! If you can though, make sure more of the video has the rain in the background! It was unfortunately only at the end in this video. I understand that just came down to the forecast, not your fault or anything. The ASMR aspect is just so nice having the rain continue throughout the video. The one where you tested the gear was amazing, pretty much the whole video had rain. I think it was either last video or the one before that. Either way, they're always great videos regardless, keep up the great work!

Luke, I watch you over and over set up your tent and gear and still am amazed at how easily you get it all set up. I laugh when I hear the clicks of the chair frame going together. What a humongous tent this 8 man was -- almost big enough for the truck. Keep up the good work-- bring Susie back...

I'm impressed on how quick that tent went up. And don't feel bad, I'm not a fan of spicy foods! Lol. I enjoy watching these videos. I don't tent camp anymore as I require a cpap machine and it's too much of a pain. It's been in the 80s and humid in north central Vermont lately. Very unusual for us! Cheers! And Darn Tough socks are made within walking distance from me!

Luke here’s a tip, when your cutting wood a few seconds of the noise is ok but anything after 30 seconds of that sawing noise is totally irritating

Hi Luke. I’ve watched quite a few of your vids and find them very interesting. I’ve watched others also and I’ve wondered about one thing. When tents have awnings and poles are attached to put them up why is it that the end where the poles are is always higher than where the awning is attached to the tent? When it rains does the water not run down towards the tent instead of draining away from the tent?

Looks like a variation of the Bushnell 9 person Insta Tent. Rain fly and front door differ some but it’s the same tent. Wife loves it since I can comfortably bring a full size air mattress, couple chairs, and a small table with room for dogs out lay comfortably. Occasionally have to seam seal some spots.

Bonding loaded fries; you absolutely need to try them. They are French fries fried in Duck fat, with cheese curds dropped over them while fresh out of the fryer, then smothered with gravey. Ohhh, they are good! But be forewarned they can be addictive. You have been warned.
