It’s a great rig. Jeeps are very underrated and I can attest to their reliability having owned 2 in 8 years. Never fails to impress and never had an issue on some of the most demanding tracks. You’ll love the JLUR with its much improved interior and improvements. Steve🇦🇺

Agreed, loving the a Australian jeep theme as well as the Australian exploration. We are very lucky, we have such a vast and amazing continent to explore😁 also, very keen to upgrade my 2 door with a 4 door wrangler - waiting for the 4xe!!!😁

Hi Chris, I agree on most of your points. I went for a Diesel Sahara, mainly because of range . With my Rubicon, I struggled to get over 400km on a tank. I always had to take 2 jerry cans with. Now , with the diesel, I get over 650km on a tank. That gives me a lot of extra water or food. There is also sway bar disconnect on my Sahara, It takes me 5 minutes to disconnect them. I also have a rear diff lock, it is called the handbrake😉. Second reason I did not buy a Rubicon again, It makes off road driving too easy. I must say, I miss the sound of the V6! Luckily the Jeep has a good sound system, so that I can not hear the tractor engine . I love your photography. Please, some time exposures and night-time time lapse shots!

Great video. Jeeps are capable to do overlanding trips. There always will be haters out there, especially those with patrols and cruisers. Most haters never owned, driven or even sat in a jeep. We've had several different Landcruisers and patrols. The most capable and fun vehicle I've had so far is my TJ wrangler. The 100 series land cruiser we've got atm will soon be replaced by a new Jeep gladiator. The gladiator is due to arrive in Perth this month. It'll be build up for traveling. Keep up the good work.

Hey Chris very good video which makes some very good points, particularly when it comes to servicing it in the bush, that I hadn’t considered before. The modifications and the simplicity that you mention that has enabled you to do them at a reasonable cost is a big plus. Would the fact that your jeep is petrol vs diesel be your biggest limitation, as I see you running close to empty at times?
@TheOutFit4 жыл бұрын
My big limitations are coming in a vid this Sunday 👍 But yes, in Aus, diesel is better I think

Hi Chris just seeing if you need an engineering cert for the 37s in nsw
@gardnep4 жыл бұрын
I was wondering about the 4 inch lift? Queensland might be interesting but it is registered in WA so maybe you could claim mutual recognition act. If it meets standards in WA it should meet standards in other states but you would need the money to test the case.

Why not 33’s or 35’s? The 37’s are way to big and puts to much wear on axles and bearings. I have seen people run 31’s and do some of the hardest tracks.
@jannesetsebeth49162 жыл бұрын
Can’t go wrong with 33s, way better for your engine and fuel too 🙌🏻

i so love this Jeep iT`s sexy as are you guys !!! and your whit and humor, content and the filming from the places you visit is Just a winning combo, great stuff guys !!!! I love that your working on the the Jeep yourself, and what you have done to it , its some of the reasons i watch your channel because Aussies drive Toyota s and your jeep is smashing that perception,and it rocks the Australian conditions no mistake , thanks heaps guys ,
@stever10534 жыл бұрын
Fail to see why you can't service a diesel by the side of the road, diesels are easier anyway, no plugs and diesel is more readly available in remote areas of Kimberly and Pilbara.

Excellent commentary. I love Jeep’s! However, the bronco is screaming in my ear. I’d love to hear if you have any thoughts on what you have seen on the New Bronco and overlanding it?
@JK_Joyride4 жыл бұрын
The Bronco is nice and has addressed many of the Jeep's shortcomings regarding interior and some exterior features however, the biggest difference is Independent front suspension of the Bronco and solid front axle of the Jeep. To me, the IFS is a deal breaker. I prefer the solid axle for tougher tracks. But I guess it depends on what kind of terrain you're planning to drive on.

Great video Chris - nice editing too 👍 I recently picked up my JL Rubicon and she's a beast - currently planning a lap so I'm enjoying and watching the channel closely for all the great locations you guys have been to. Quick question - have you had any issues getting petrol as I'm hearing diesel is much more common out that way? Cheers 👍

What about the reliability, you have had 2 reasonably catastrophic fails that held you up for quite sometime. Great cars agreed but I don't think Toyota or Mitsubishi would let down like that in remote areas.
@TheOutFit4 жыл бұрын
The oil cooler was a reliability issue in my opinion. The wheel bearing wasn't. With 37"s it was only a matter of time. I strongly believe any 4x4 from 2015 would have had breakages with what we put our vehicle through. Anyone who says otherwise has either been very lucky or hasn't toured full-time.

@benrichterjork42644 жыл бұрын
You really need to be medicated if you a Jeep, especially here in Shitsville. Reliability is crap, Jeep customer service is crap, repair cost is in line with Australias budget deficite. For the money buy a Toyota or Mitsubishi.
@spudboy13284 жыл бұрын
Nice paint colour? Nice interior? These are not things to worry about on a long distance tourer! How about reliability? You've had at least 2 serious breakdowns which have stuffed up your travel plans. Jeep may be a possibility in the USA but in Australia they are way down the list with little/poor dealer support and a terrible reputation for warranty issues. Great car - I like them a lot - but wouldn't be choosing one for long distance remote travel here in Australia.
