I have been saying that for awhile. Republicans have made it so that the wealthy basically can buy as many residential housing units as they like, and get them for free. They get to depreciate them every year to reduce their tax liability, they get to deduct every repair and maintenance, they crank up the rents yearly above the rate of inflation. In 8 to 10 years, the housing is literally FREE and clear for them. You, as a person who works for a living, cannot depreciate a house if after years you are able to scrimp and save for a down payment. You, as someone who works for a living cannot deduct any repairs or maintenance. Republicans did this!
