Tradewinds is the predominant color in our 1922 4-square. I've grown to like it after first thinking it was gray. I guess it's the light in our house. Still, it doesn't seem appropriate for many historic houses. I did suggest my daughter pair it with the creamy beige you featured here, but I couldn't convince her. She does have a blue kitchen island similar to Naval, though.

Thanks for this. I'm doing a nursery that I want to have soft white walls with one light blue accent wall to look like the sky with subtle clouds on it. The theme of the nursery is hot air balloons and clouds. Any chance you could do Copen Blue? I find it to be a very unique shade and there aren't any youtube videos on it yet. I believe it was Sherwin Williams color of the month in December of 2021.

I really prefer painting rooms different colors, using colors in the adjoining rooms that work together for a cohesive look. The reality is that rooms differ in terms of sun exposure, so why not leverage that --- like a lovely pale yellow which positively glows in south-facing space, or in this case, using a cooler blue to take the edge off the afternoon sunshine...

Just stumbled across this and it's so helpful! Would I be crazy to use Tradewind on my kitchen cabinets? The picture of it on the fireplace on the SW website makes it look a little more obnoxiously bright, but other videos and photos I've seen make it look very calming. I don't want to overpower the room with it... Thoughts?

I did my livingroom this color and it's very toned down. That was the main thing i was looking for is toned down color and it's perfect. I love how it changes in different lighting as well. Another color i did in another room that's similar is sw lullaby you might want to check out. I'd get a sample of either or both and stick it on your cabinets to see how it does with your lighting throughout the day
