I agree 💯 Might is right is the way of whole society in Pakistan. For anyone in doubt about this you can just walk into any housing society in Karachi specially the ones where middle class is also living like on the outskirts of DHA Karachi. You just ask the middle/lower class residents how they are treated by the administration there and then compare it to the upper class in the same society . You will have your answer that the apple is rotten to the core.

Health care and education is free there yes which sounds great but its managed terribly in Canada and even the US, I'm not saying we're perfect but the pakistani system of going about with patients is way better than Canadian or American system which has alot of insurance involved and usually you have to wait a very long time for approvals of documents and insurance to actually get major surgeries done, which at times can worsen the patients condition and this is coming from someone who has faced this issue. Even within the UK its notorious that patients have to wait weeks to actually get appointments from general physicians. I'm sure the treatment itself is better however alot goes on behind the scenes for a simple surgery or appointment to be made.

The current situation in Canada is challenging, especially for new migrants. It takes about 7 to 10 years for newcomers to properly settle and find decent salaried work. Most recent migrants are students who don't have family support and live in terrible conditions. They don't really have free healthcare either, as they aren't Canadian citizens yet, so they must buy health insurance, which can cost $100 to $200 a month. If you move to Canada from a lower-middle-class background, you might find it a lot better than Pakistan, but if you're from an upper-middle-class background, you'll likely have second thoughts about why you even moved. The first four years here will be filled with stress, anxiety, and depression.

Don't be too harsh on yourself. You are a very young country and will take few more decades to find correct path, if not more. Even your history is no older then 77yrs, as before that, it was someone else's history, which you don't own.
@shadowknight004 ай бұрын
77 years granted may not be long enough when it comes to a country,but it still is a long amount of time. We wouldn't be this negative if we had any hopes of betterment. Living here is like being stuck in the past. Nothing gets improved, empty promises by the politicians, hate crimes, street crimes are rampant. Inflation is booming, jobs are scarce and the ones which are available offer pathetic salaries which don't even cover the commute from home to workplace and vice versa. Broken roads, no gas, high petrol prices, extremely high electricity bills along with load shedding,Water issues and so on. As an 18 year old, who hasn't seen any improvement in these 2 decades, I am hopeless of this nation and it's people. It's like we don't deserve happiness. So yeah, it's easy to say that don't lose hope, but it's harder to believe in it.

Couple of things…. I am a she… not he..and i am from India. The only reason that’s keeping me in Canada is that as a woman i am more secure, independent and safe in canada. I don’t like living here at all. If someone wants to leave any South Asian country, they really should. But just an advice, don’t come to Canada. Choose another country. People of Canada are moving away from Canada because of economy and all of the things Adeel noticed. Everyone deserves to live in a country where they are treated with equal respect and opportunities, regardless of their gender, religion, race and caste. Canada is that place but that doesn’t mean it’s a heaven and all is shiny and happy here. Just saying, if someone wishes to start their life in a different country, choose something with better economic situation and where you can afford a home. Because now in Canada, good luck buying a home👍. You can’t afford it, unless you have been living here for 15 years. But i hope things get better. Government is trying to make it right. And i know people who have moved back to India merely because of health care. I had to go to India for medical reasons. It sucks that the country you live in can’t provide you healthcare care when you need it. It is a big problem. Mainly because they don’t have enough healthcare workers.
@shamankaur-m5t4 ай бұрын
@Werchmant people have right to criticize the country they live in and government that is serving them. I had a terrible experience with healthcare here. As a resident, i have every right to criticize and ask questions about things i pay for with my Tax. What do you expect? Ask no questions? Say nothing Just because i immigrated here for better opportunities and living standards? Should I be grateful for it? Sure! I am. But not critique it’s bad things? Nah! I am living here. Paying tax. I will criticize. And then give chance to government to fix it. That’s how any country excels and maintain their living standards.

I respectfully disagree with Adeel on the topic where he argues that life in Pakistan is better than abroad. As an international student living in Australia, I cannot fully comment on life in Canada, but I want to point out that the quality of life is significantly better abroad than in Pakistan. Especially as a resident of Karachi, I felt that my life had no value, anyone could shoot you for a wallet or a phone. As a woman, there was always the looming threat of becoming another rape statistic. I am a graduate of a well-known business school in Karachi, yet I was stuck in a toxic corporate culture where my DGM would tell me it was time for me to get married or comment on the color of my lipstick. I felt unsafe ALL THE TIME. I am not suggesting that there are no crimes or issues here, but I can support myself by working part time at a fuel station overnight, and I do not feel unsafe. I walked 40 minutes home at 11 p.m., and I wasn't scared of walking on the streets at night. I'm more afraid of ghosts at night than of humans here. People do not need to be graduates of a specific university to be respected. You can be a high school dropout working as a server and still financially support yourself without anyone looking down on you for just being a waiter. Racism and healthcare issues exist, every country has its problems, but that does not take away from the fact that one is treated as a human being here in first world countries.

Just stick to what you’re good at like poetry and screenplay writing.

Independence is something we must continuously fight for, not just celebrate. We won our freedom from the British, so why are we still shackled by feudal lords and corrupt elites? What good is independence if the same oppressive systems remain intact? Remember the Bengal famine-who decided the fate of millions? It was Churchill, who didn’t care about the suffering. Today, even though we’re independent, we still face wars and conflicts that don’t serve our interests. If we were still under British rule, we’d be fighting their wars-whether in Afghanistan, Africa, or Ukraine. Our independence means we’re no longer puppets of foreign powers, yet the injustice continues, just from different hands. To those so-called intellectuals who romanticize the colonial era: you are part of the problem. Your defeatist attitudes waste resources and perpetuate a cycle of negativity. Stop glorifying the past and start fighting for true independence-for a nation free from both foreign and domestic oppression.

Agar hamaray mulk mai women ko education or marriage ki azadi nahi hai to kia hum azad hai? Agar hamari minorities ko jaha un ka dil karay rehnai ki azadi nahi to kia hum azad hai? Hamaray mulk mai ap kia sochtai ho us ki azadi nahi to kia hum azad hai? Yeh qoum jo apnai bacho ko sawal poochnai say rok daiti hai to wo qoum kia apni hakomat say sawal karay gi? The problem isn't the elites or the establishment. it's the people. As a qoum hamara mindset hi azad nahi to kia hum khod khak azad hai.

I have no idea what adeel is talking about. I am a Canadian for more than 20 years and we are way ahead in terms of being a socialist society. You get shelter, free healthcare, free education. You have to live here to assimilate and understand this society instead of always complaining about back home being better. You are just home sick.
@Werchmant4 ай бұрын
Actually the thing is about which part of society u r when u immigrated. If u r from the lower middle class then it feels better in Canada. If u r from the upper middle class then it feels like shit going to Canada cuz u have to work your way from the bottom while knowing u were much better in Pakistan.
@Sid-fi1mc4 ай бұрын
@@Werchmant i come from a pretty afluent class. The thing is if you have been lazy all your life and expect others to take care of you, then you would hate Canada. If you actually enjoy doing any hard work you would love to reap the benefits here. You would also hate it if you don't believe in equality for humans, and think that there should be a entitlement and a class difference. I feel like a lot of people hate Canada because they are just not able to abuse the Canadian system as much as they did back in Pakistan.
@Werchmant4 ай бұрын
@@Sid-fi1mc yes true but then don't forget when u go to Canada the locals there don't see u as there own. The locals there hate that we 3rd world immigrants r coming there and leeching off of there legal aid. So there is still a bit of class difference and the locals there will quite often remind u that u r not one of there's. There will always be a class difference wherever you go. That's why Indian there have built a strong community and have a monopoly. Pakistani on the other hand r selfish and divided therefore once u land there u r pretty much on your own and it's a hard struggle from the bottom and if u were from the upper middle class u will really face alot of struggle when comparing to your life in Pakistan. But yes overall u can't compare Pakistan and Canada they r miles apart in development.
