I had two Pakistani friends growing up in India as a kid in the early 80s - the family I think were close to the Bhuttos & were given some sort of asylum in India once Zia came in...... I won't give more details, but they went back once Zia died & Benazir came back. We had great fun, they were 2 brothers - one my age, one a year younger.

@@AbhayPeshin u might be different from them but because i understand English I am frequently getting suggestions of indian English news channels like first post, Hindustan times or wion who are looking for the slightest opportunity to demonize pakistan. For eg palki Sharma frequently does reports about Pakistan on the verge of collapse but I know that's not true because I live in Pakistan. we are not a failed state like Afghanistan. But unfortunately when the whole world sees these reports they tend to believe that we are going to dismember soon. Indeed there may be rational voices in India I don't deny it but those voice are mostly overwhelmed by the indian populist right. For eg I really liked how Javed Akhtar despite being an atheist defended Pakistani poet faiz Ahmed faiz against the indian media onslaught but we were caught off guard when he took a 180 degree turn when he came to Pakistan and started bashing Pakistan and joined u're far right bandwagon to please u're establishment.

Have you heard of the term "soft bigotry of low expectations?" If not, Google it. it was coined by Senior Bush in his term. We, in India, know that this was practiced on Muslims during the so-called secular rule by Congress and others. The problem with secularism, is that minorities can be used as a vote bank. The low expectations from Muslims in India, crippled their community for decades. In short, secularism can be used a soft weapon that gives thousand small cuts to the nation, which realizes the bleeding much later. Before 2014 in India, secularism was used as a thrift for vote banks. Now it is used in a very sensible way, despite how it is portrayed by some section of the media.

Pakistan is a good example of how much space a country can afford to its army. An army's job is to only protect the country's borders and secure national interest. Anything else is beyond its ambit. When that limit is crossed, the army should be cut to its size.

British wanted a Buffer state So Jinnah created Pakistan for elites, generals & Bureaucrats who wanted to save their asses from Socialism and they are living their best life in Pakistan today So Jinnah Two Nation Theory project is successful. One affluent nation for elites & generals and another for Common Pakistanis.

Add that he used terrorism as political instrument. The direct action was call to riot. They used similar tactics throughout their political career. Zia-ul-Haq played a massive role in destroying Pakistan, but people very conveniently forget Bhutto's role in bringing Pakistan to where it is today. His nationalisation brought the economy to its knees, his fear of religious clergy played a vital role in dividing the populace further, his role in bureaucratic failure of today also goes unnoticed, his role in fall of Dhaka doesn't raise many eyebrows. In my reckoning, Bhutto was the wrecker in Chief of Pakistan, closely followed by Zia, who picked on Bhutto's policy of giving into relugious clerics and took it to another level of religious exploitation. Zia, after Bhutto was a lethal combo for Pakistan n Pakistan never really recovered from Nationalisation, politicisation of religion, division of people on sectarian, ethno religious & lingusitic divide.

Amir ul munafiqeen Zia was like Aurangzeb alamgir in all the wrong ways His support of afghan bandits is his WORST CRIME Is irreversibly damaged both Pakistan and Afghanistan It’s credit to junejo that he signed the Geneva accords with USSR otherwise war would have dragged on even more. But genie was out of the bottle His trained terrorists later committed atrocities on US soil and killed so many innocent US marines

@@ThePakistanExperience I remember when the news of his plane crash was announced. Even though I was a teenager, I remember feeling a sense of joy that he was finally dead. My family used to refer to him as "Kaana Dajjal" which means "The one-eyed evil devil-man".

Sir you have a great nara "Kashmir banega Pakistan". The question should be asked to your millitary and also your people. Have you that ability to take that by force or by sending some mujahid. What is your opinion also ❤ from India. As a Indian we don't hate Pakistani people. We know your millitary and your Rulers fooled Pakistani people for their own gain and are also fooling in era of Internet social media. You and some people are doing fantastic job for your country.I salute you.I pray lot more viewership from Pakistan. Pakistan must think critically to come out their illusion that they are superior over the world.❤❤

Pakistan's miltary and Politicians are definately corrupt but India is definately our enemy as well. If we did not have nuclear bomb, India would have done the same to Pakistan as what id did to kashmir and Kashmiris. So we have to be vigilant of India as well. Islamists have harmed Pakistan, i agree, but they have kept India as bay as well. Otherwise Pakistan would have been long gone at the hands of India. We experienced this in 1971. 1971 was a big lesson for us. The Islamization of Pakistan started after that and did not give india a chance to repeat 1971 again

You cannot have secularism with Islamist as your neighbours coz Islam is not a normal religion. A disproportionately rising population when in majority compels other religions to leave. They're fighting with every other religious/ethnic groups. Europe especially France, Sweden, UK, Afghanistan, India, Nigeria, Sudan... are suffering. Fear of it is real.

I dont think you were even born to make such comments about the ex President. Ive lived in that era, the economy was quite strong, we were filling our cars with petrol at Rs 6 per litre in 1988 and diesel at Rs 2 per litre. I dont know where u got this "bad economy" accusation from. To comment on such issues, u need to first move past your own small minded bigotries and biases, thats how mature journalists produce good work
