Thank you, dear Shahzad Gias, for inviting me. I spoke openly, sharing my heart and mind without holding back. I tried to answer as many questions as I could. Shahzad himself is a remarkable, thoughtful voice, and he created an environment where I felt more comfortable than ever to speak freely. It’s probably the most open and honest space I’ve experienced in my life. Much respect to Shahzad ✊🏽

As a British Sindhi this podcast and esteemed guest has reaffirmed my faith in humanity and Sindh remains the last bastion against the scourge of intolerance. Look at Saeen saif’s soft spoken and wisdom for one so relatively young, it’s the essence of being a good human, he reminded me of a quote There is line from one of my favourite movies ‘“Remember. Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.” Jiya Sindh

I am truly touched by this podcast. Thanks to Saif and Shehzad. As a British Indian Gujarati, I feel that the narrative around Pakistani identity (and even Indian identity to a certain extent) is driven by Urdu and Punjabi speakers - in terms of politucs, art, music, culture, language, dress, cuisine, etc. nothing against our Punjabi brothers and sisters from both sides, but it is very important to preserve with pride our indigenous culture, and pass it on our next generation. I always knew how deeply connected Sindhi culture and language is with Gujarati, Rajasthani and Kutchi culture and language. But listening to Saif strengthened my view the the core Indian+Pakistani culture goes beyond the Punjabi pop songs and dance (again, no offense meant). The sweetness of Sindhi language, how he described Rawadari, how he mentioned that Ashram and Bhagat are not just Hinduism related words is amazing. We need more of this. Bravo Saif bhai.

@ThePakistanExperience the ideology you are depicting about Sindh is 180 degrees from what pakistani news media channels are portraying from day one for 24/7/365. Overseas non Sindhis have only one-way info about the land of Shahzads and Saifs, and i.e., coming from 60+ channels. Unfortunately, it's making them Sindh haters.

I don't feel good that they don't know about my City Here in Islamabad I mostly meet with people from Punjab side and I guess even we people from Sindh know about thr city names at least but they don't. 59:11 Don't you think the same thing is happening to the people of Karachi now? People make fun of us, saying things like "Karanchi walay" or associating all Karachiites with Gutka. Maybe this is karma. Thanks to independent media, we can now learn more about other people and their experiences. For the first time in my life, I truly feel connected to my Sindhi identity. Although I was born into an Urdu-speaking Pakhtoon family, I now believe I am just as Sindhi as anyone else, having been born in Sindh. Sadly, we were only introduced to the Sindhi language in the 3rd grade, which I feel may have been part of the government's political agenda-to ensure we learned just enough to pass exams rather than truly connect with the language and culture. P.S. I’d like to apologize to all Pakistanis if I have ever participated in ignorant or racist jokes. Jokes can be fine, but not when they are used to suppress or diminish entire communities. I’m sorry-I can no longer be part of that mindset. Peace ❤

You have wonderfully pointed out your concern. I am a karahiite sindhi and I have witnessed hatred coming both ways. One piece of advice is, always remember there are not any sindhi, punjabi, urdu or pathan, who are responsible for a behaviour. it is always an individual, who stands accountable for his/her act. We are all humans at the end of the day. Try avoiding generational trauma to transfer through our generations. People like you are a hop for our nation. #peace.

Right from the "Namaste", thru out the discussion I heard stuff that I had no inkling about. 2Hrs+ of absolutely spell-binding stuff. Congratulations & Thank you. Lesson for us Indians: Watch Pakistan. I am afraid we are tending to go down the same road. If we do not watch out, we will, given our size and diversity, land up in a worse spot.

Thank you Shehzad for bringing Saif Samejo on your podcast. Dair aye Durust aye scenes. Saif has undersold himself and his Lahooti Melo, I have been attending it for past 3-4 years. All the new Sindhi singers, rappers that you see on media, including recent Ayi Ayi artists, were first introduced by Lahooti Melo. And were later picked up by mainstream. But I have never seen Saif taking the credit of their success, which shows how humble he is. If you ever happen to attend Lahooti Melo, you will see a stage that is open for all the new artists to showcase there talent. Many underground bands also perform in Lahooti, irrespective of what language they choose to sing in. Great conversation. Thanks a lot.

I'm from Rajasthan, india. My school principle was a sindhi. His parents cane to india as a refugee in partition. They left all their wealth in Pakistan and started in rajasthan from scratch. Invaders tried their best to destroy sindhu(hindu) culture. They stole somnath temple not for once or twice but THRICE. Only few south indians are still saved temples because they were far away from north. So many invader couldn't reach. them

Could you tell us about how many Hindu rulers also destroyed temples of their defeated enemies as a show of force? Why Muslim invaders did not destroy temples in Malaysia, Indonesia, Africa, Central Asia? Because it was not an acceptable act in those regions and cultures. In India, temple destruction as a result of losing a war was considered normal, hence why the Invaders thought they could get away with it. Many invader kings also built temples, commissioned the construction of Hindu temples and paid for it through the Mughal treasury. History is not black and white, enough with the constant sob story. Please stop the insecure nationalism.

Also great to know that Shehzad you are Sindhi no wonder that your Sindhi is "Kachi" so me in same boat so what I did with my children I never speak Urdu with them but Sindhi . Believe you me , 4 and 7 years kids have fluency in Sindhi ,English and Chinese but they are unable to speak Urdu. Our generation was pressurized to speak urdu but I did "ulta" with my kids and gave them awareness of their ethnicity- made them sure to be vocal about our Indus civilization (identity).

🙏 Also recognizes the divinity of the human soul and the person greeting acknowledges the divinity in the one being greeted. We were lured into hate by the very conspicuous method of divide and rule. Brought to life in the subcontinent by the British and kept functioning by their loyalists in Pakistan. I am a descendant of those who left their own homeland and came to Sind. May the hate disappear may the love of Bhitai, Bulle Shah and the much hijacked Iqbal be resurrected.
