Wood Turning Juniper Almost Done "THEN" Almost A Disaster

This piece of Juniper had a large bark inclusion that I did not trust. So I filled it with epoxy. I normally do not use epoxy but I was thinking it could have been a disaster. Later on I just about created my own disaster. I found I did not like how it looked but was able to change it with out any loss.
I am very happy with how it looks and it actually could be used either way. I call it a multi use turning.
Finished with:
Zinsser Seal Coat
Zinsser Shellac
Tools used:
Bowl gouge
Negative rake scraper
Carbide hollowing tool

Good morning, Gary. Your choice to use epoxy allowed this great piece to go forward. Even then, I worried as you removed wood and increased speed, that the piece may come apart. I agree with reversing the bowl for a better design. A tense, for me video, but very rewarding conclusion. 🏆

Thank you Ray, I was concerned with the piece being end grain and figured the safe thing to do was to fill the natural inclusion. After seeing the optional way of how to turn it I felt I avoided a near disaster. So the intro music was prepare you for what I ALMOST DID! but thankfully was able to go the other way. Thanks for watching my friend, Gary
