My daughter and I sell soap, and we were at a craft show over the weekend where I had decided to add a few of my journals to see if they would sell. A sweet lady walked into our booth and immediately eyed my journals. She exclaimed that she was just starting to make journals and loved watching Pam at the Paper Outpost! Well, we became best friends on the spot! Incidentally, I sold one journal, which thrilled me more than all the soap we sold. Lol!

Pam, don't throw away those dried up ink pens. You can extract more ink by dicing up the ink tube inside the pen and adding the pieces in alcohol to make alcohol inks. (Felt tip pens are the best to use.)

I knew about using permanent markers to make ink but never thought about dry ink pens !!! Thank you !!!!

I have done a whole set of alcohol inks with markers, but never knew or thought of doing it with pens. Thank you :) I will have to add dried up pens to my list of things to save now lol ☺♥

You were my first you tube junk journal video I watched. I learned from you. I still refer back to yours when I’m stumped. You’re the best ,. Omg I almost spit out my coffee when you spilled your water. And then later today, I had a clumsy session at my art desk. I laughed then too thinking of you. I’ll share.,., I was working with tiny magnets . Couldn’t find them. Tore apart my desk, stuff flying on floor, bent down to pick stuff up, banged my head. Found my magnets stuck to my stapler. Just laugh and move on 🤣🤣

I loved Sunny's reaction to the horse treats. It had me cracking up. And you're correct horses love carrots, sugar cubes, peppermint rounds, apples, there's also a premade treat called Nicker Makers , alfalfa cubes, they even love bread but that's not a good for them. I live on a small farm 35 miles north of Tampa and I have had horses and cows and goats , chickens you name it, all my life here in Florida, so I love your farm animal digi kits. And I love your imagination. you have made a journal Holick out of me ,but I'm not that good . I've got a little over a dozen under my belt. They are addicting. Thank you And God bless you. Wonderful as usual Pam. So nice to know we aren't the only ones who can't find just what we need when we need it. My daughter had a couple instances where she spilled her drink while working. We decided the best thing was for her to use one of her drink cups with a screw on lid, not one that just slips in or on since it can pop off, but the cup with the screw on lid will only maybe leak a bit through the straw. Helps. We had quite a time once drying out her papers. Laying them out all over the sofa etc. Thank goodness yours was only water. Now your mat is all clean. 🤪 I love that cover. I must have missed that video 😫.

Good morning Pam! 💕 I always seem to stress out marking and punching the holes but enjoy it, too. Go figure. 🙄😂 Knocked my coffee over😅, anointing a new mostly white/pastel fabric cover. (I hate working with white. 😆) Had an Alabama hissy fit, took a break, made more coffee, ended up spraying the cover lightly in spots with my coffee/ink spray I keep in fridge. I didn’t like all that white anyway. 😂😂 Another episode of Real Life of a Journal Maker. It happens to all of us. I like seeing you keeping it real. 👍 Have a great day Pam and Outpost gang!💕

I'm loving this new journal, Pam. It will make a great writing journal for someone, but could also be an art journal. A blank journal can be fun because you can write about an event or adventure, and then add a pocket or tuck and save things related to that experience. And, because you're filling it as you go along, the allotted space for your writing and ephemera is always just right.

Thanks for this video - I like the way you make the holes,for binding. I made a cardboard template but I’m always off a little on the binding and it’s never even. I’ll try this technique when I make the next journal!💖

I keep an unlit votive candle on my desk when using a needle. When I am adjusting or going to another step, I stick my needle into the candle. Mine are soft because I use soy to make them so the needle goes in very easily. That way I can always find my needle. I just got soooo frustrated when it took me forever to find my needle sooo many times !!
