ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) training for paramedics is a comprehensive program designed to enhance their skills in managing critical cardiovascular emergencies.
During ACLS training, paramedic students learn advanced life support techniques in airway management, effective chest compressions, and the use of medications to treat cardiac arrhythmias.
A strong knowledge of ECG interpretation and pharmacology is required to pass the course. This video will give you a leg up if you watch this video prior to your scheduled ACLS course. Medical doctors, PA's, NP's nursing and paramedic students will all end up becoming ACLS certified as part of their education programs.
The course also covers the interpretation of electrocardiograms (ECGs), the administration of electrical therapies such as defibrillation and cardioversion, and the importance of team dynamics and communication during resuscitation efforts.

Finally a video. Just graduated medic school and on my 2nd shift of field training. So far i have not had a cardiac arrest, even on internship. So I been preparing for it by studying and videos

Okay great video but how do you determine the difference of fine course vfib and asystole? This doesn’t have to be per guidelines just curious

The consensus that I’ve heard to differentiate between fine vfib and asystole is that that you have to use your ecg and get a print out rather then just going off the pads and looking at the monitor. Apparently the pads don’t offer the best resolution and the ecg can pick up fine vfib much better. Generally fine vfib doesn’t respond as well to defibrillation so it’s better to continue good cpr and regular epi then to waste time looking at a print out trying to look for fine vfib. Plus you can get a fine vfib into course fib with good cpr which will be more apparent on ur monitor. If you have enough people and someone can look at the rhythm briefly to determine vfib do it but don’t waste time.
