I enjoyed this comparison video. And its perfect when you said pick whichever parrot suits you and your home because they are both Excellent species and totally enriching in their own ways. 😊

I agree with you in the sense that tiels love to talk. Some words or series of words are pretty clear and some aren't. U have to know ur bird.

Very true!

From what I have gathered, there is a significant difference between female and male cockatiels when it comes to loudness. Both sexes can of course do their flock calls (and quite loudly for that matter!) but with the added singing/whistling tunes for males, I would say they are more "constant" in their loudness 🎵 Hope I made any sense 😆 My female cockatiels are quiet 95% of their time awake 🦜🦜

While it’s true to an extent I have known some very noisy female tiels! Especially during hormone season!

@@TheParrotTeacher Oh yes 😆 Mine have been "flirting" non-stop today with "squeaky toy" sounds and bending their butt upwards and their crests all the way down, trying to look cute. One of them is actually VERY loud while doing this 😅

Jo man nice video's i learn alot from you i have 2 lovebirds and 1 conure the conure is alone in the Cage do you recommend buying a cocktail and putting them in the same Cage thx man 👍

Definitely not worth putting a cockatiel in with a conure in a cage! The conure will likely hurt it!

Hi, my cockatiel has been doing really well socializing and training but he has suddenly started to regress. He's refusing to come out, being more aggressive and it seems like he's unlearned what he's been taught. Any advice?
@TheParrotTeacher Жыл бұрын
My advice would be to identify why? If you got him very recently it could just be he’s settled now and his real personality and feelings are coming out. If it’s a longer period I’d look into causes such as stress, treat motivation, diet, lack of sleep, environmental factors etc

Could you tell me where you got the small ball your conure was playing with with the holes?
@TheParrotTeacher11 ай бұрын
That was just from amazon it’s a cat ball toy! Be careful when using them though. Some conures can get very overstimulated by the noise!

I just got a Lutino female Cockatiel, it's been a week but she is still terrified and wants to bite me. I am going slow with her and feeding her Spray millet with my hands, she is coming along but not there yet. She is 3-4 months old according to the breeder. How long would it take her to be friendly and unafraid?
@TheParrotTeacher6 ай бұрын
That depends on the individual! The fact you’re going slow and using a high value treat is really good to start with though! I have some cockatiel bonding videos that may be worth watching!

I have a cockatiel and want to raise a conure and I'm afraid they won't be able to live together What is the solution
@TheParrotTeacher3 ай бұрын
So they will definitely need separate cages and spaces, but there are many conures who get on with cockatiels. You’ll have to do some training and bonding work potentially though

My conures act like monkeys, so even King Kong would work as well.
