20:49 Correct, from the ginger root! :) And tying back into what Jessi said, before pills were developed medicines were dissolved in drinks, but they were of course very very bitter, so old drug stores would craft these powerfully spiced and sweet drinks to cover the bitter medicine for customers. The drinks became so good that people wanted them even without the medicine. Thus modern pop was born. Fun fact, the oldest surviving brands (Vernors and Faygo) were born in Detroit.

This was hilarious!!🤣 I loved so many of these as a kid, but now as an adult not as fond of a lot of these candy/snacks. But funny thing is I hated Dr. Pepper as a kid, but then my friends served it at gatherings a lot when I was in college, then I loved it. Still love root beer. But I feel like they’ve added even more sugar these days to soda, doesn’t taste as good as they used to😢

Underrated how funny this guy is. The humor is not only in what he says, but in the body language. He is not just a typical Italian guy, you would be just wrong, he is genuinely funny. @the pasinis. I watch your videos from beginning to end, but i have to say it is tough. Do some basic preps for example the tomato sauce thing: get the cups and order ready, before shooting the video. I think if you smoothen things out…. You can be big on youtube!!! For inspiration look at some of the food games of good mithical morning and make it your own! Best of luck in this journey and i will keep following!

Aww, I love A&W root beer and DrPepper! Pop Rocks are so fun to eat- a friend and I once brought a few bags of them to church and sat in the back giggling as we ate the noisy candy. Funyuns were a fave snack as a teen. Once right before class started, I passed out the strong smelling snack to every student in our choir, to which our choir teacher was not thrilled about during vocal warmups 😂 Corn Nuts are the Best! Try the BBQ ones sometime! 👍 Rice Krispies treats are definitely much better tasting if you make them yourself. 👏

I know personally many kids who have major issues (saw the reactions myself) when they eat red 40 and I know many other parents who’s kids don’t have a major reaction yet the parents won’t let them consume it. It still is not well looked upon by most parents that look into what their kids eat.

He did say "twitch", rather prophetic! Dr. Pepper reminds me of Root Beer a bit in flavor, it has notes of sarsaparilla, anise, cardamom, ginger, birch, blackberry, molasses etc. They are spices common in herbal medicines, they do create a tingling sensation (I'm sure there's a name for it) which may be what makes you want more, even if it's not initial a pleasant taste. Most Europeans I've met do NOT like root beer, either....lol...he just got to the root beer. It's the synthetic sarsaparilla flavor in root beer. The real sarsaparilla root is actually carcinogen, so it's not used anymore.
