his coaching was declining, not sure why but he really struggled with the basics this year.....didn't have a grip on decisions for some reason. also had that deer in the headlights look....reminded me of Frank Reich. Now, don't get me wrong, no one is worse than Frank Reich, Vrabel is on a different level...he's just had a bad stretch

@@JoshuaClayton-oi2tm The Titans are our rival, but what I can say is the Titans performed well with him at HC while having no stars outside of a physical WR who left and a freight train RB who is the only remaining threat offensively. Yes and no. I thought the same at the time. TEN played such a brutal game on both sides of the ball. But the NFL hasn't just made it impossible for defense hard hits and hard nosed play, they are also making it illegal for offense to play with hard hits/hard nose.

He is like a little mini Belichick with a quarter of the talent and twice the annoying answers in press conference. "Coach better, play better" was a meme in TN becuase thats his only response when he gets his ass kicked. Even the two years out of 6 the Titans were okay under him and won a game or two in the playoffs almost every game that year was a one score game and we got insanely lucky in alot of them. I worked in the athletic department at Alabama, and it was always a treat to watch Vrabel coach drills on pro day. He’d walk into the indoor facility looking like he was walking on the field getting ready to play a game.. locked in. Imagine all 31 other coaches standing around socializing.. Vrabel walks right through the crowd, turns visor around backwards, grabs a pad/dummy and starts going head to head with the players while coaching drills. I’m not talking about normal coaching with a dummy.. Vrabes went hard 😂 it seemed personal to him. Sometimes it was like he’d forget he was coaching and would have to catch himself from getting too aggressive. Dude’s a beast

He inherited a playoff team. Tannehill at his best was a top 10-15 qb. Henry has been the best back for years and had a 2000 yard season under Vrabel. After Deen Pees and Arthur Smith left, its been all downhill. The roster has fallen apart and him and ex-GM did a terrible time drafting, getting free agents and getting good coaches. Vrabel is a good coach but it was time for the Titans to move on.

We would have never gotten anywhere with Vrabel. He’s a great coach but he doesn’t fit in with a Super Bowl contending team. We got close with Vrabel but we lost. The “hard nose, run first then play action” ideology doesn’t beat the Chiefs, Ravens, Bills, Bengals when it comes to the playoffs. And it also doesn’t develop a young QB (Levis) with a revolving door of OCs. Plain and simple, it sucks but it was the right decision if this team wants a chance to actually contend for championships.

I believe this is one of the classic stories of the people responsible for the roster rebuild being on hot seats, blaming the head coach to buy themselves some time. Did the Titans struggle the last two years? Yes. But look at how their roster compares to the league. Especially the last two years. And look at the Titans before him. I really believe this is astory of a franchise shooting itself in the foot, and Vrabel kept holding them up. It could get way worse.

They traded away the best player on the team to the eagles for basically a ham sandwich. When people heard his anger at upper management over it you knew then that the team was going down the tubes. He never got to have a franchise QB and still made the playoffs. Very impressive but there was a disconnect between him and the upper management so I knew this day would come. I feel like they intentionally sabotaged the player quality and that put Vrabel as the fall guy. He will go to another team and if they can identify good talent from bad you will see Vrabel in the playoffs soon.

Titans will come to regret this, anytime a coach is fired, and the sentiment most people have is, "Where is he coaching next?" And not "glad to see him go" or "makes sense it's about time" you probably fired someone you shouldn't have.

He must’ve butted heads with the new GM. I’m a Bengals fan, so holding on to bad coaches is pretty much a legacy around here, so I was pretty shocked they got rid of Vrabel. Had the Bengals lost they’d be 8-9 and many in Cincy would be calling for Zac’s head.

Lifelong Titans fan here. The people that are saying this is a terrible move are people that haven't watched us every week the past two seasons. Vrab was loyal to a fault to some TERRIBLE coordinators. That's HIS fault. He opted for a field goal in week one this year with the titans down FOUR POINTS with like 2 minutes left. That's vrabel football. The Texans and Colts drafted second and fourth, respectively, in this year's draft. And they both swept us this year. Vrabel has been highly overrated for years. It's not a move I love, but it had to happen.

Titans havent scored over 30 points in over 2 years. Titans fans know this man is ass. The AFC championship season when we were the 1 seed we were like less the 10 plays/BS penalties during the season away from being 5-11. If you love run run pass punt coaches he is your man.

guys, two bad seasons with absolutely zero weapons besides a worn down, occasionally injured Henry is not on the coach when you don't score 30 points. As a colts fan, you guys just fired the best head coach in our division in the last decade. I hope you guys hire Reich and eat your words. I always feared Vrabel, can't wait to walk all over the Titans again next year.

Bros had Tannehil for most of his tenure and still competed 😂 I’m a Niners fan and I have a soft spot for the Titans since they’re an unpopular team that’s had some fun teams and great players. This was a bone headed mistake… I see a grim next couple of years, decades of struggling .

Vrabel is a great game manager. But his coordinator hiring and desire to take too much control of the organization make him a liability. We l9ve Vrabel and may succeed somewhere else, but this is the right move for our team as we look for an offensive head coach.
