I know he’s frustrated, but the NFL is an entertainment product and the Giants, one of the biggest sports markets in the world, have not been entertaining. If Evan Neal is too much of a spineless jellyfish to handle some fans booing when he isn’t doing the job he’s being paid to do, then he needs to find another job. Athletes today are paid an exuberant amount of money to play a game, they’re really not doing anything spectacular that warrants them being paid what they are paid. It’s INSANE how well our defenses always seem to be. BUT… when it comes to offense. He’s beyond lost. While he was focusing on the defense. Brady and Josh/ BOB were left to figure out how to put a stellar offense together with a very elite but often injured Gronk, a huge overachiever in Edelman, James White at RB who was basically just another short slot WR and other teams castaways that Bill got for Penny’s on the dollar. Granted we did win SB’s with teams that weren’t elite skills position wise and lost SB’s with elite offensive players. ( cries softly about 07) but Bill had absolutely NOTHING to do with the offense scoring points. I can’t even remember the last time Bill drafted an offensive skill player who was a pro bowler… I think it might actually be Gronk. He made a few decent moves. Josh Gordon was a solid snag until the league kicked him out AGAIN for smoking pot, which is beyond stupid IMO. But rules are rules I guess. 🙄AB was a solid signing at the time and he and Brady played well together and that’s one that had he not been kicked off the team for being an idiot. Brady might have stayed with us. Because he could have seen a way to stay there and compete for championships. obviously the Randy Moss trade. But we got an “ old “ Randy and no one knew if he still had it or not and OMG, did he have it!!! Brandin Cooks was a good trade. Danny was a solid FA acquisition. Not the best stats wise in the regular season but that man was so freaking clutch in the post season. Chris Hogan was an ANIMAL. Always open and seemed to catch EVERYTHING sent his way. But then you have the second round pick sent over for Sanu which didn’t work out too well. And then we sent Jimmy G away for only a 2nd rounder. Malcolm Mitchell was a great draft steal. Really wish he could have stayed healthy. Because he was about to become a superstar and you could tell how much Brady and the team loved and believed in him by how much love and praise he got during that SB season. Unfortunately Harry never turned into a superstar like he was supposed to be. But I actually blame that on them never giving him a real chance to develop. But when we got him, we didn’t have a great offense. So Losing yards and plays trying to let him develop didn’t happen happen. He showed he was a GREAT outside blocking WR. LeGarrette Blount was a great steal and really turned our rushing around. We had Jonas Grey go off in a game and because of whatever he did that no one really pushed hard enough to find the truth about. Was let go before our next game ( I think 🤔 ). Same thing with Butler. Don’t know what he did to get benched but that most likely lost us a SB. Especially since we lost cooks early in that game. I know I just rattled off several names that performed well and only a few that didn’t but those are the ones that are standing out for me at the moment without googling. But most of those were trades/ FA signings. Because his draft record on offense is just abysmal. I didn’t always like the whole “ get rid of a guy a year early and not a year late “. Especially when it came time to let Dola and Hogan leave. I firmly believe had we kept Dola and Hogan. Paired up with Gronk, Jules, James White and kept that core group that helped lead us to the next half of the dynasty. Especially with the addition of Cooks, rather than reading him away. We could have won at least one more SB and held out hope that the rookies drafted could watch and learn by watching those core guys. Showing everyone what the “ patriot way “ is. To let them slowly acclimate to the Patriot way. Because it’s hard for rookies to come in fresh off the college field, just being drafting, feeling like they’re on top of the world and then perform under Bill and his tough love, no love for the media or stupid questions approach. Then, there are soooooo many offensive players he unusually moved up in the draft to take who did nothing. Meanwhile guys that were available went to other teams and performed extremely well. Not drafting DK, not drafting Nick Chubb, not drafting Lamar Jackson. This list really could go on forever. Because more times than I can even remember. Bill would trade back for picks, draft a guard/ tackle from a small school no one every heard of and in the next pick/ handful of picks. An elite player has been chosen. Bill wasn’t as bad his first 10 seasons but seems like after the Gronk year. We have missed WAAAY more than we have hit. Again, this man KNOWS Defense and how to draft/ develop talent on that side of the ball. But without Brady there to mask over his poor drafting and recent poor acquisitions and make chicken soup out of chicken 💩 is wild. Especially now that we have Mac, I like the kid and I think he has IT and could be a very good/ great player for us. But bill has done nothing for him in the passing game. We don’t even have short, white slot WR’s who can dominate like the days of old. Mac had a great rookie year and things looked good ahead of 22 and then bill and his Ego thought we could win with that crap combo for an OC. Now we’re in year three. Which should be viewed as year two. Simply because of how extremely awful the team as a whole became. Bill is still drafting as if we still have Brady and we just don’t. No matter how much I like Mac. He’s not Tom, will never be Tom but is still a player who could dominate if given time and weapons to throw to. But bill is drafting like it 03 not 23. Where defense, run game and good clock management with a game manager at QB is a winning combination that could lead to the SB victory. But it’s far from that. Now days You need a super stud WR1 / TE Combination at the very least. a great duo at WR, solid TE and good run game with a solid QB. Basically you NEED multiple super stars at those positions to hang with the rest of the league. Because while it’s great that we can get good field position, drain the clock and score 3-7 after 5-7 minutes on the field. We’re up against the top teams being able to do that in 30 seconds and three plays. Crazy part is We let a guy go who knew our system and had been there three years go to the raiders and signed JUJU. And i actually love the players we have but they’re not good enough to push us over the hill. With an offense/ defense straight from the mid 90’s early 2000’s. The game has completely passed over Bill and he’s like a lost puppy when it comes to that side of the ball. Bill is a blessing and a curse. blessing because he is who he is and no one can scout or teach the defense better than him. But because of his stout defensive we’ll always be too good for a shot at a top tier QB but not good enough to make it to the playoffs. We’re looking at a 7-10 win season right now from what I’m seeing and I don’t really see that changing. Although I’m hoping for an out of nowhere phenomenal season on both sides of the balll. I really think we’re going to be in the Kirk Cousins sweepstakes next year and I would love to have Kirk. He’s definitely got the swag and discipline to be a GREAT and perfect fit in NE. But even an upgrade like that at QB wouldn’t tip the scale too much. Without some aggressive trades and/or focusing on the offense during the draft. Because Henry is a solid TE and our WR’s are solid but our best option in the passing game would be a #3… #2 at best on just about any other good team in the league. Mahomes, burrow, Herbert, Hurts etc wouldn’t be able to take this team to a SB victory, much less a deep playoff run. At this point I think bill has bought enough good will to stay and chase after the all time win record. But if we don’t start playing better fast, I’m not sure RKK let’s him stay and chase the record only winning 5-10 wins a season. Because he’s already said he’s tired of losing. So I guess we’ll see.
