What I would say is that Bird, Magic, Jordan, and Chuck all made basketball so entertaining that it is still fun to watch all of them - even in interviews. I noticed that Bird and Magic are still trying to save basketball in every interview. They put the new guys up. They give the old audience permission to like the new players. They humble themselves in comparison.

He’s soooo right. Magic bird and MJ are the most important players. Bc the nba was literally the wnba in the 70s. No revenue and all drugs. But magic and birds rivalry brought the league back. Their lakers and Celtics teams were shown most. Ppl came back. Then Jordan catapulted it all. For the league and for the players income as well. Those 3 built the league back and exploded it. If I'm not mistaken, Jordan was earning more from endorsements than what he made in NBA salary for a couple of years. Just looked it up. He made more from per year on his first Nike contract that he did on his whole first NBA deal.

I agree with Charles about the eclipse. I went outside and watched it because I happened to live in the path of it. And it was cool for what it was. But I wouldn't have driven out of my way to go view it, it only lasted for abour 4 minutes. The Dream Team inspired 7' tall people to take the only job in the world where 7' tall get paid millions.
