I tried the 23-liter Ruckas and returned it because it was too large for my frame. I purchased the 14L Ruckas instead and am very happy with it.

Good stuff! The sling looks to be a "big boy" version of the accessory pouch I picked up, and the semi-clamshell makes a lot of sense here due to the carry style (and larger size.) Quirky about the pocket depths -- a concession to prevent bulk towards the bottom of the bag, perhaps? Backpack looks amazing, though. I'll absolutely be watching for a sale on that thing!

I love the pockets that aren’t all same size and depth. It keeps things from all just settling to the bottom of the bag and creating one section of bulk. I need this bag! I currently use a molle military admin pouch because it allows me to put my AirPods in one part of the surface area, my phone in another, my wallet in another, and I also carry several other EDC items of similar size and bulk. But even using the molle pouch it’s kind of a pain because I have to put each thing into it’s assigned elastic band. I think the ruckus solves that. I’m gonna go order one now

On the sling: I think the logic behind the shallow pockets is that it would be hard dig out small stuff that falls to the bottom. (Similar to the slash pocket on Gr1s)

That’s true, but this pocket would be only about 6 inches deep, where those were about 12”

Couldn't help it... right after commenting about these the day they dropped, I tossed the Ruckas accessory pouch in on a long overdue order for a Mini Kadet. Was really curious about the material on these, and the cream + goldenrod colorway is just outstanding. Pretty pleased with it overall. That said, it would have benefitted immensely from being full clamshell, as accessing some of the organization options is somewhat difficult.

@@user-oe9wb4dm7v Loved the colorway and material of the Ruckas, and I might have used it more if I got the sling version. Ended up preferring the Mini Kadet, which I used for a few months before later buying the full-size Kadet which has been my go-to ever since.

Love the review! As a 5’4” woman I’m always on the lookout for edc slings that can fit a good amount. How easy is it to clean the bag? It seems like stains might become a problem on white.

So - I haven’t used it long enough to answer that fully - but My guess is that this bag actually will be a little hard to keep clean. The material isn’t as “wipable” as some other materials, and I think it may develop a bit of a patina over time.

Love the color of the backpack but how easily does it mark up and how easy is it to clean?

I’d say it does show use, but not dramatically - it’s ‘off white’ or cream colored rather than a bright white. I haven’t tried cleaning yet - haven’t needed to with light/normal use

Your videos are great and really appreciated, but the point about the iPad on the sling... oof. I hate that. Honestly hoping you collab with a bag maker one day to come up with a good sling because I'm a big sling guy but generally want something on the smaller end (though still big enough for a ~11in. tablet), and the options aren't great. I've been using a size XS Timbuk2 Classic Messenger and I do like it a lot, I'd just probably prefer a vertical option like this sling.

Gonna put you on the spot bro. Which do you think is the better backpack this Ruckas 23L or the Senda 21L you reviewed a few months ago?

I like the Senda better. I would prefer buying from Kargo Gear and I think the color options are better. The Senda feels more custom and the Ruckas (while very cool) feels more ‘mass produced’. I’d go with Kargo between those two.
