@ProjectGrandMarauder
@ProjectGrandMarauder Жыл бұрын
@@jacob4920 No, Disney fucked up starting with Captain Marvel and Endgame. People give Endgame WAY TO MUCH credit. The movie actually sucks. Not because it isn't beautifully done up. It sucks because of plot holes and what they did to certain characters for comedic value and then with their decision to kill off or neuter the Big 3.
@jacob4920
@jacob4920 Жыл бұрын
@@ProjectGrandMarauder "Endgame," whatever you think of it, is where it all should have ended. Mostly because, yes, they did shuffle off "The Big 3" to other pastures. It really would have been a perfect ending to a decade-long story. But Disney kept going with it. And that's the problem. Because, regardless of what you think of "Endgame," everything that has come SINCE "Endgame" is pretty universally crap. It's like writing a sh***y epilogue to an otherwise great story. Kind of sucks the goodness out of what came before.

I have never and will never experience anything like this cinematic experience (and I'm 50 years old, seen many masterpieces in the cinema). Everything about this ending was perfect. The more you watch it, the more you see how it ties up everything that went before it. Right down to Cap finally getting his dance with Peggy. Which is the perfect final shot. Masterpiece.

I love how most people who watched Endgame felt sorry for almost everyone, from Hawkeye to Captain America to Iron Man, except Thor. Thor got the shortest end of the stick of this entire situation and it's not even close. He lost his friends, his mother, his sister tried to kill him and also died, he lost his hammer (his most beloved possession and proof that he is a worthy person), lost his father, his girlfriend abandoned him and then died, his homeworld exploded, then he lost half of what remains of his people, got beaten up to a pulp by Thanos and then he lost his brother, the only remaining family he had. Oh yeah, and afterward, he thought that the entire Infinity War end was his fault, because he didn't "go for the head". There's not a single character in the entire MCU mainline that have had it worse than Thor. And he still have to cover that burden up, and act like nothing happened. There was so much pain in his voice earlier on in Endgame when he cut off Thanos's head and said "I've gone for the head". And no one in the audience bat an eye, and most never understood what those words mean. That was so much guilt on that scene and throughout the "silly fat Thor" and no once cares. It's so weird to me.

Most people forget he also lost his warrior friends Volstagg, Fandral, and Hogun who were all killed off so unceremoniously. His girlfriend Jane didn't die until after Endgame, but yeah Thor has definitely suffered the most losses out of any other Avenger. Watching his mother's funeral hits way harder now knowing that she would be merely the first of many losses to come for Thor.

If we analyse the Thor storyline and ask ourselves why he recieves less sympathy than the others, its because those deaths and losses he incurred were not written for us the audience to care for, but for Thor's character development. His friends were secondary characters who we felt not affiliation for (lets be honest, do you even remember their names?). His girlfriend Jane, who the audience honestly felt was a miss-matched (and miss-casting) realistic love interest. His homeworld was never really explored much that we the audience ever felt like it was a fully fleshed-out place. Every scene was in and about the castle, never did we once venture into the neighbouring towns or cities. The few losses he endured that we felt were emotionally impactful, were the deaths of his brother Loki, because he was a well written, fleshed-out character. And his mother, because we revisited her in Endgame and was told that it was the day she would die. This scene in Endgame gave Thor the motivation he needed to transform his emotional downward spiral to that of the spirit of the rightful King he always was.... Write better storylines the characters and the audience will care. At the end of the day, weak story telling is why its not as weird as you think.

Theres so many small details in this movie its crazy. Some of my favorites are: 1) Peter gave Tony the idea for the reverse mobius strip after seeing the picture of Peter holding his diploma upside down 2) When Tony told Pepper he said he should walk away from the idea and go to bed, but she asked him could he rest. When he was dying Pepper told him "you can rest now" calling back to the fact Tony cant walk away from doing the right thing and he was successful even in death but the world is no longer his burden to bear cuz hes given enough. 3) Tony hugging Peter is a callback to SM: Homecoming when Tony opened the car door for Peter who thought it was a hug, but Tony said "we're not there yet, I'm just getting the door for you" 4) When Happy is Talking to Morgan about what she wants to eat, she says cheeseburgers. This is a callback to the first ironman movie when Tony escaped from the cave and back the first thing he wanted was a cheesburger while Happy was escorting him, hence why he said it was Morgans dads favorite. 5) Steve told Bucky he wasnt coming back after returning the stones. Its why he was the only one not panicked when Steve didnt return on time. Its also why he said the callback line to the first Captain America movie: "how can i when youre taking all the stupid with you?"

I know it's been talked about to the point of damn near becoming a cliche by other KZbinrs, but I truly love what they did with the character of Thor. He's lost more in these movies than ANYONE. It's super realistic that he would become a reclusive alcoholic struggling with depression and PTSD. I love that they made him husky, I love that the chubbyness didn't magically evaporate away once he got his groove somewhat back. Also speaking of someone who was a massive mammas boy who buried my mother a little over 3 years ago, the scene where he gets to talk to his mom one last time, and she's the one to put him back on the right path, brings me to tears more than anything else in this movie. "I'm still worthy" with happy tears in his eyes. Showing that someone going through depression and grief is still worthy of the life they had or wanted. Absolutely love. 10/10. More than the callbacks, more than the unblipping, portal, avengers assemble scene, even more than Tony's sacrifice and funeral scene altho thats a close second. I love that we got an accurate portrayal of escapism, depression, and PTSD in a super hero movie. This elevated Thor to my 2nd favorite marvel character behind only Spider-Man. Great reaction btw. Rant over.

Something you probably didn't know about regarding Jarvis. It's not included when people talk about the MCU, is Margaret "Peggy" Carter had her own TV for 2 seasons called "Agent Carter". Jarvis was a regular on that show and is played by the same actor who plays Jarvis in this film. It also includes the same actor who played Howard Stark in the 1st Captain America movie.

54:31 That cheeseburgers line… hit me like a brick wall in the theater. During the funeral and the subsequent scenes before it, I felt as if my heart was being carpet bombed with emotions. “I am Iron Man” “You can rest now” “I love you 3000”. The entire time I can feel that emotion pushing me to the breaking point, but some how I’m still holding it in. And then as the camera zooms out during the funeral I’m thinking about the first Iron Man movie. When we first saw Stark. When he got back home and asked for only two things: a conference and cheeseburgers. Then Happy asks Morgan if she wants anything. In my head I was thinking: “Don’t you say it…”. When she said: “cheeseburgers”. All those emotion bombs finally hit. It broke me… I’m not ashamed to say I cried.

Here we go!!! This is one that I've been really looking forward to you two getting to. This movie is easily in my top 5 favorite MCU movies so far. The emotions start off right away in this movie. And is an emotional roller-coaster throughout. Fun Fact #1: Karen Gillan, who plays Nebula, said in an interview that she and Robert Downey Jr. improvised the scene in the beginning when Nebula and Tony were playing paper football. Fun Fact #2: The "I love you 3,000" came from Robert Downey Jr. He had mentioned that his kids would always tell him that they love him 3,000. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo loved it, and added that line in the movie for little Morgan to say that to Tony. Fun, but Sad Fact: This is Stan Lee's final cameo appearance. 😞 Fun Fact #3: In case neither of you recognized him, the boy that was standing behind Wanda, Sam, and Bucky at Tony's funeral was Harley Keener, the kid from "Iron Man 3". The 3 MVP's of this movie: The rat, for freeing Scott Lang so he could give the Avengers the idea of time travel by using the Quantum Realm. And most importantly Natasha and Tony, for making the ultimate sacrifices. One more movie left in Phase 3 with "Spider-Man: Far From Home". And then onto Phase 4. Looking forward to the next reaction. 😊

“Avengers: Endgame” is an epic finale🔥. I really enjoyed watching it with you guys. The way the Russo brothers and Kevin Feige brought all those 10 years of the MCU movies into one finale was just done with such love, dedication, passion and heart👏👏. There were such beautiful/emotional moments in this film such as when Tony met his Dad ‘Howard Stark’, Thor meeting his mother ‘Friga’, Steve seeing Peggy again, Scott seeing his daughter again as he’s all grown up, Clint reuniting with his family etc🥹😁. The nostalgia that this film gave us from all the other MCU movies was so refreshing and emotional🥹😆. The growth in all the characters was so well shown, especially Tony who was this overconfident playboy but then the way he progressed into this proper man with a family and then later made the sacrifice with three magical words “I AM IRONMAN”🤩. Loved your reaction/analysis, take care and have a good one❤️

Epic...sure, I'll give ya that one. It's huge in scale and scope, and jam-packed with characters and events. Masterpiece? No...just, no. You either don't know what that word means, or your bar is so low that nearly everything qualifies, whether it objectively does, or not. Saying you love the movie, is an opinion, and you're wholly entitled to have whatever opinion you want. I enjoyed the movie too. Saying it's explicitly good, or great, or a masterpiece, is an explicit intrinsic value statement. You could be correct, or incorrect, and you're not entitled to have anyone agree with you, or even accept your claim. It's an ok movie. Maybe bordering on good. I myself enjoyed it plenty. It is absolutely no masterpiece, though. Pleasing does not equal good. Cocaine is pleasing, but it's sure as fuck not good.

My mates and I went to the midnight release for Endgame. The cinema was incredibly busy and almost every screen room was playing Endgame, so thankfully I had the idea to pre-book tickets and good seats long in advance. It was an amazing event as they also played Infinity War which ended a little before midnight for the release. I still remember the silence, cheers, emotions, laughs, tears from myself, friends, and many others in the screen room throughout the whole movie. The whole room uproared in cheers when the reveal of Capt using Mjolnir. Al things considered, I enjoy Endgame. I've seen a handful of people's criticism towards the movie, some I agree with and some I don't, but all in all Endgame provided a satisfying conclusion to everyone's story.

Its actually been established that there was one Marvel hero who made it through the snap with all their loved ones also surviving, and that's Ms. Marvel. Khamela Khan and her entire family survived Thanos's snap. In addition, none of her close friends were snapped away, either. The Marvel producers said they set that up because they wanted to have one character who bucked the odds. While everyone else lost someone, she got incredibly lucky.

That is how random works. When they have humans pretend to give a randomly generated series of dice rolls, humans have a tendency to avoid repeats of certain numbers/patterns because they don't seem "random" enough to them. But true randomness allows for the number 7 to get 9 times in a row. Edit: though in this case, definitely set up by writers with their own narrative goals.

@@Putrefax Strange said that out of all futures he explored, they won in one ; that's not at all the same as one chance among 14 million of winning. Those futures he explored were only dependent on choices he personally made. Since Strange couldn't possibly change it, the rat stepping on the right button happened in every one of those 14 million futures. Also, the chances of some rat stepping on a button in 5 years are not low. No, actually there were other means and ways to kill thanos and win... Strange saw the other outcomes and in all of those were Tony lives he would have 1.- created a suit of armor around the world... Making him more paranoid about powerful enemies coming, therefore he would have used the time machine to start interacting with powerful tech from the future and possibly making contact with other ironmans from different universes, remember... What happened in Loki Season 1 at the end took place outside time allowing multiverse travel since the beginning of time...
