@@aaditkhan728 He most certainly did not destroy their characters, anyone that's truly read the comics over the years would know that. In fact, he's the first one to do a great job of showing the 'man' side of Superman. While Christopher Reeve was phenomenal as Superman, and his movie does give that 'Superman' feel that people expect when they think of him, almost every one of his 'flaws' shown in those movies are ones he created to blend in with humans (like his clumsiness and awkwardness). I would argue that Cavill did a better job at portraying him as very 'human' because of the way he was raised, and he slowly grows into the Superman that everyone knows about. You can tell he comes into his own and really feels like the hope that Superman is meant to be by the end of JL: Snyder's Cut. But hey that's just my opinion... (Also as far as Batman, literally *every* movie version of Batman kills, at least *this* one has a reason, he's older and broken.)

It was always super weird to me this film was like half a Cyborg origin story. There's a reason the First Avengers movie didn't handle Caps origin while spinning all of those other plates. Why not give Cyborg his own origin film and then do a JL that doesn't need to waste an hour of it's massive runtime with that stuff? Same with Barry saving Iris. That scene straight up belongs in the Flash movie, not this movie.
@MSgt_0699
@MSgt_0699 Жыл бұрын
@@MattAlbie Because WB wrecked the plan. Nolan's plan was to do MoS 2 after MoS, in accordance to their realistic Superman growth idea. In post production of MoS, WB decided to shove their shared universe reboot (Green Lantern failed) onto Snyder and insisted that he do a Batman versus Superman movie next, which WB had been trying to do since 2005. They also insisted that it be under two hours long, set up a Justice League movie, then do that Justice League movie next (also under two hours long). Superman's development story from MoS was somewhat sacrificed in BvS because there just wasn't enough space in BvS to fully explore. WB went on to butcher both BvS (theatrical cut) and then Justice League. This is why Snyder's Justice League is four hours long and includes a heavy dose of Cyborg origin and Flash development. He knew that he needed time to develop these characters towards a team mentality, but WB refused to give him that. It came down to WB slapping a title on a poster and expecting a billion dollars per movie to simply appear.

So here's the deal. It wasn't 100 percent Zack. This narrative just isn't exactly true. This is Zack after BvS very publicly bombed and he was forced to be put on a leash and deliver a pretty standard modern day Justice League story. You heard all about it when he was filming JL, they were making changes and selling fans on those changes as a positive thing. A bit more levity, etc. So no, this isn't 100 percent Zack. If you want 100 percent Zack, to see what he TRULY wanted to do without a leash or a studio very carefully breathing down his neck and "correcting" his vision... Look at the last 20 minutes or so of this movie and see the goofy apocalypse stuff.

First just the way you lied and babbled about BvS publicly bombing tells me you are another undercover Zack Snyder hater or maybe your Joss Weeden using a fake account to post your bulllshit. BvS didn’t bomb and continues to make money today by continually selling out their copies of physical media. There was no leash, you had individuals within the WB who were making things hard for Zack during the making of this film. Whatever narrative you were hoping to make was obvious and easily exposed so get back to hating on Zack Snyder and better luck next time.

just wanted to say guys (as a film student) an executive producer doesn’t have much say on what a film’s story goes on to become- and they may just be there to oversee some small things or have their small ideas implemented into the film - meaning Chris Nolan did not have much say in the movie but helping fund and promote the film in whatever capacity he was asked to (and they’re good mates) , so maybe give Zack some credit on his vision? (this would have been his main film in 2017 and had two more focusing on the Knightmare visions of Batman and the last movie would have been on Lois and Clark’s child becoming Batman following his death to save Lois - cause she would have died in the second movie which is why Batman sent Flash to warn him to save Lois in BvS)! The studio were greedy to get profits in 2017 when Zack’s daughter died so instead of holding the film to let him grieve properly for his daughter Autumn, and come back to finish, they messed the movies up by bringing in Joss Whedon and yh, that didn’t end well Also, JK Simmons is Jonah Jameson from the Spiderman movies! (Tobey’s and Tom’s and most films) Loved this reaction guysssss

For the characters y'all weren't certain on: the "green guy" during the original Age of Heroes battle with Darkseid (where Zeus and Ares showed up) was a member of the Green Lantern Corp, basically a super-powered police force that keeps the peace throughout the galaxy, their powers stem from their rings, which will basically create anything they can imagine if their will is strong enough; the Martian Manhunter, or J'onn J'onzz as he's otherwise known, is a Green Martian, he's one of the last few of his race, and he's basically a refugee hiding on Earth after his people were wiped out (the reason he didn't want to step up and join the fight), his powers include telepathy, shapeshifting, flight, enhanced strength and durability, he's not quite on Superman's level but definitely a heavy-hitter; the final one was indeed Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke, one of the most lethal mercenaries in the DC universe, he kinda fluctuates between villain and anti-hero, tends to get into fights with Green Arrow and Batman on a pretty regular basis, no powers but a very skilled fighter (sort of like Batman, except without the financial means). The reason the boxes didn't call out to Darkseid during the years before Superman's arrival was the presence of a Green Lantern. The Green Lanterns each have a sector of the galaxy they protect, and the sector Earth is in had a Lantern watching over it for most of that time. The Green Lanterns are one of the few out there that can go toe-to-toe with Darkseid's forces, especially if several of them show up, so the boxes didn't call out...in this time period, the Lantern who's supposed to be watching over Earth is likely dead and hasn't been replaced yet (something that was planned for the part 2 of this movie which sadly never happened)...Steppenwolf mentions that during his first little talk with Desaad (the hooded guy that was acting as Darkseid's secretary), "this world has no guardians. No Kryptonians, no Lanterns here to protect it. I will find the boxes and conquer this world in his name." The Anti-Life Equation, the thing Darkseid wants so badly, is essentially the Infinity Stones of the DC Universe. With it, Darkseid would have absolute control over the entirety of the multiverse. And because I probably put it into your head with that analogy, yes the character of Thanos was heavily inspired by Darkseid according to Jim Starlin (the creator of Thanos); from interviews with Starlin, originally Thanos was going to be much smaller and skinnier, but Starlin was told by his editor Roy Thomas "If you're gonna steal from Jack Kirby's New Gods series, at least rip off Darkseid, the really cool-looking one!" As for Nolan's involvement, he helped push the studio into releasing Snyder's vision, and he helped secure some of the funding, but that's it...writing, camera work, directing, everything like that is 100% Snyder. The last part, with Earth defeated and Superman gone evil, wasn't supposed to be part of this movie originally, but Snyder decided to throw it in since he loves the Injustice storyline (which is what that Superman gone evil plot is from) and knew he wouldn't have another chance to do it in its own movie. Snyder originally wanted to make a second part to Justice League, where we'd actually get the invasion of Darkseid's armada and the fight to stop him, which would've introduced several more heroes, including members of the Green Lanterns (likely Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner, Jon Stewart, and maaaybe Kyle Rayner) and the Martian Manhunter...but Snyder's daughter Autumn committed suicide, he stepped back from work to grieve, and WB, being the pushy asshats they are, tried to short-cut their way into making their own "vision" of a movie by bringing in Joss Whedon to cut and reshoot like 90% of the movie, which turned out to be a raging dumpster fire. The studio also wrecked David Ayer's Suicide Squad movie (where that version of the Joker was first introduced); sadly the "Release the Ayer Cut" movement never gained the traction that the "Release the Snyder Cut" movement had. We were also supposed to get an Affleck-directed Batman movie that would've pitted Batman vs Deathstroke. Sadly, none of that ever happened. The Snyder Cut is basically the ultimate example to studios of why they need to learn to sit down, shut up, and just let the comic nerds make the movie. Glad y'all watched it (and especially glad you didn't watch the theatrical Whedon version...).

That doomsday future needs to be more elaborated on because it is kinda like the story of Injustice which is a great game. I need to know why Martian Man Hunter was put into play. I want to see the reboot of the Green Lanterns with John Stewart leading them. I gotta see the Robin deaths that had Batman and Joker going back and forth. There is too much potential that will never be used now that James Gunn is taking over and getting rid of the main cast. Great reaction again. Glad you guys watched. So Zack Snyder had originally planned 5 movies - Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, Justice League, Justice League 2, and Justice League 3. Other filmmakers were going to make the solo movies for the other heroes between the main JL films. Unfortunately, WB has repeatedly refused to bring Zack back to complete the final 2 films. You can find the original storyboards and outlines for those last 2 films online if you'd like to know what was supposed to happen next. I guess this is a spoiler warning for films we may never see lol.... But essentially, JL 2 was going to be sort of the fall of the JL. Darkseid comes to Earth. WW and Aquaman are killed. Batman fails to protect Lois from Darkseid. Superman's grief makes him susceptible to anti-life and he succumbs to Darkseid's control, placing the world in the "Knightmare" timeline that Bruce keeps having visions of and is the scene at the end of ZSJL with Joker. What's left of the league attempts to steal a motherbox and send Flash back in time to warn Bruce. The final movie would have been correcting the timeline and all out war against Darkseid to save Earth. There's a whole lot more and it's definitely worth looking into. Still hoping we'll get to see them one day.

Funny you mention Cyborg and Terminator but both characters are very different with Cyborg predating Terminator by four years first appearing in DC Comics Presents #26 from 1980. There's actually a Star Wars character called Beilert Valance who is a Cyborg and heavily looks like the Terminator making his first appearance in Star Wars 16: The Hunter from 1978 predating the Terminator film by six years. These comics were under Marvel as well so that's kind of funny on the topic of DC. But yeah if you look up Beilert Valance online you'll be born away by how much he looks like the Terminator. He was brought back into Star Wars canon a few years ago and looks even more like a T-800 Terminator now.

Also, this movie did the one thing that no superman movie has ever really done and shown how powerful Superman is... Not in the sense of raw power (Superman is so unbelievably overpowered that Steppenwolf was exactly a toy to him) but how much goodness there is in Superman, and how much restraint he shows in the world where everything and everyone is basically made of tissue paper to him and he isn't out there just flicking people into paste if they look at him wrong. They show how Superman is truly good. See Nice Kansas upbringing is good for the soul ;)

I'm glad you chose to watch the Snyder Cut. Besides the fact that it was infinitely better compared to the theatrical version it's also a testament showing not to mess with a director's vision. To give a little more context about the situation Snyder's daughter Autumn commited suicide while Zack was working on this movie. He tried to keep working and bury his grief but that didn't last. So a while after the death of his daughter he stepped aside and WB hired Joss Whedon ( who made Avengers 1&2 ) to finish his work. Instead of actually completing Zack's vision Whedon rewrote the majority of the movie adding around 80 pages of new script. Coupled with the fact that he had problems with the actors on set made the remaining production an issue. This is why the Theatrical version was a major disappointment. After that fans of Snyder campaigned heavily to see his version finished. Some people countered that it didn't even exist until Snyder himself clarified that the movie did exist but wasn't finished. Ultimately massive fan response resulted in Snyder being given a budget to finish his version of the movie. Some actors returned to shoot additonal scenes and we got to enjoy the full uncut 4 hours of the movie. While the movie wasn't perfect I do feel like watching the movie really made it seem like a comicbook coming to life. Even more so compared to Avengers: Infinity War or Endgame. The way Zack's version was told was like reading chapters of a comicbook.

Christopher Nolan wrote and produced Man of Steel, brought in Zack Snyder to direct and that's why he has an exec producer credit in this. Other than that the story and the script was written by Zack Snyder and Chris Terrio who wrote Batman v Superman as well. Zack Snyder was the architect of DCEU (the first Wonder Woman was written and produced by him as well) but that crumbled away after this film and you'll see the change in direction if you continue to watch other movies in this universe. _Zack Snyder’s Justice League, often referred to as the “Snyder Cut,” stands out as a cinematic masterpiece for several reasons. Firstly, the extended runtime allowed Snyder to delve deeper into character development, providing a richer narrative that explored the complexities of each superhero. The R rating allowed for a more mature and nuanced storytelling approach, tackling darker themes and giving the characters a depth that was previously unexplored in the original theatrical release._ _Secondly, the film’s cinematography and visual style are breathtaking. Snyder’s signature visual flair, coupled with a darker and grittier tone, creates a visually stunning and cohesive aesthetic throughout the movie. The enhanced color palette and intricate details contribute to a more immersive and cinematic experience, elevating the film beyond traditional superhero fare._ _Moreover, the R rating enabled Snyder to present a more realistic and visceral portrayal of the intense battles between the Justice League and their formidable adversaries. The stakes are higher, the action is more brutal, and the consequences feel more significant, adding a layer of authenticity that resonates with a mature audience._ _Lastly, the Snyder Cut showcases the director’s original vision and artistic integrity. The R rating allowed Snyder to break free from the constraints of a more family-friendly approach, resulting in a film that stays true to his creative vision. This authenticity and commitment to storytelling make Zack Snyder’s Justice League a triumph, offering audiences a profound and emotionally resonant superhero epic._

If we got a 3 hour version of this in 2017 DC would’ve been better then Marvel by now. Well I don`t know about all that. But I do know that Zack Snyder`s Justice League to me was on the same level as Avengers: Infinity War & End Game......A masterpiece. The Joss Wheddon Justice League was straight trash. I remember when Kevin Feige heard Warner Bros was working on Batman V Superman movie, that`s when Marvel decided to do Captain America: Civil War. And Warner Bros wanted to release BVS on the same day as Captain AmericaCW. Then they ended up changing their date to release BVS. And CACW became the better movie and made more money to become a billion dollar movie. I didn`t like BVS, but I loved Zack Snyder`s JL...................A masterpiece. PS..........Warner Bros should`ve kept Zack Snyder in control of the DC universe. I have a bad feeling about James Gunn in full control. And I hated how Warner Bros did Henry Cavill. The Martian Manhunter is part of the Justice League too. It was a surprise to me when they revealed that on this movie. The last scene, Zack wanted the Green Lantern to be the one to show up in front the Batman and have that conversation, but the studio for some reason didn´t want that, so he decided not to fight for that so he replaced the Green Lantern for the Martial Manhunter in that scene. The guy from the yacht, talking with Lex is Deathstroke, another villain of Batman. The anti-equation is a formula that can brainwash people, so apparently that´s what Darkseid does to Superman in that apocalyptic scenario, and Superman blames Batman for not taking care of Louis. So basically, Superman goes mad and evil. By the way, Louis dies in the Batcave. They went back in time (cyborg and the flash helped whit this) and they save Louis but Batman was the one who took the bullet in this part of the story. Superman has his baby, without power and Zack wanted to show another epilogue telling that Superman´s son will become the new Batman. That was Zack´s idea, idea that´s not gonna happen because WB doesn´t want to go that way. We were gonna hear that story of how the Joker killed Robin, pushing Batman to the dark place he was in BvS. The riddle was going to be there too apparently. He didn´t talk about the Green Lantern though. Zack told his vision to Frazier Tharpe in a interview for GQ Magazine. Now after the Flash movie, the DCU is going to be reboot. Great reaction guys, I agreed with that word: Masterpiece!!! Stay Safe.

The "green guy" is a Green Lantern. We only get to see a Green Lantern from the past. If you want to learn more about what a Green Lantern is, you can watch the Green Lantern movie starring Ryan Reynolds. No connection to the Snyderverse, but there was supposed to be a Green Lantern in this movie to team with the Justice League, but the studio still put their foot down. So, Zack had to replace that idea with Martain Man-Hunter. Martain Man-Hunter is also in the DC comics and joins the Justice League. -OG

Fun fan theory the dark timeline we see in this film where Superman has turned evil caused by the death of Lois Lane by Darkside could actually be the future of the Joss Whedon Justice League (2017) film making both canon. In Joss Whedon's version the Justice League act far less united and prefer to work alone so in theory this could explain why there were wiped out leading to Lois being killed leading to Superman losing control. Then these future scenes take place (all the "dream" scenes) which leads to Barry Allen the Flash going backwards in time to warn Bruce Wayne that Lois is the Key the same scene we saw in Batman Vs Superman. This then leads into Zack Snyder's Justice League where Bruce makes sure the Justice league is much more stable and working as a team while also knowing that Lois Lane is somehow important. A more united Jusitce League would have a better chance at defending Darkside while also having insight on Lois being important. It's like a timeline loop similar to the first Terminator film. In Joss Whedon Justice League's version Bruce never got that message from the future Flash so it all goes wrong with this Justice League not prepared for Darkside's invasion. Then post invasion Flash goes back in time warning Bruce about the coming future this being the Zack timeline we've been following this whole time leading to a new outcome of events that we most likely will never see unless they bring back Zack for an Elseworld's sequel to his Justice League. Two chances with Zack Snyder's Justice League coming out on top. Overall fun film but I'm still not vibing with some of the renditions of these characters but that's fine, each to their own and if you love Snyder's universe then more power to you. I personally never cared for his take on these characters so even if Justice League was a good film I would still be a little meh on it as I just don't really care for these versions of the characters. *Joss Whedon:* Man of Steel (2013) Batman vs Superman - No Warning from Flash (2016) Justice League (2017) Justice League Wiped Out Lois Murdered by Darkside, Superman Turns Evil Darkside Future - Future Vision Flash Travels Back in Time to BVS, Arrives too soon but Bruce gets the message. *Zack Snyder:* Man of Steel (2013) Batman vs Superman - Bruce Warned By Future Flash (2016) Zack Snyder's Justice League - More United Team (2021)

People compare this with Infinity war, instead of the first Avengers, which is kinda wrong since that marvel worked for years to achieve what they did in IW and Endgame. But this just proves how awesome and strong this film is. Glad you enjoyed this movie! Currently WB does not have any plans to make a sequel to this Justice League continuity - which is extremely frustrating and disappointing. However, Snyder knew WB wouldn’t make his sequels, so he publicly released his original storyboards for JL2 and JL3 that he made in 2015 while he was writing ZSJL. You can find the storyboards for JL2 and JL3 easily online. I won’t spoil it for you, but it explains Luthor’s plans against the League, how Darkseid arrives to earth, how Lois dies, how Superman turns evil, and also what Batman has to do in order to change the timeline and prevent Superman from turning evil, culminating in a glorious victory over Darkseid in a spectacular way. Oh and also about Lois’ baby 👀 although Zack will likely change those original ideas from the storyboards to align with the conservative take of keeping Clark as the father of Lois’ child, as opposed to the “other guy” Zack initially had in mind 😳 lol so feel free to look up those storyboards whenever you’d like. Meanwhile, Snyder is thriving with his original brand of Rebel Moon on Netflix, which arguably exceeds the ambition Zack had with ZSJL (hard to believe, I know 😂) thanks and enjoy! ✌️
