*LYRICS - Fields of Gold* ------------ You'll remember me when the west wind blows Among the fields of barley And you'll forget the sun in his jealous sky When we walked in fields of gold So she took her love for to gaze awhile Among the fields of barley In his arms she fell as her hair came down Among the fields of gold Will you stay with me, will you be my love Among the fields of barley? And we'll forget the sun in his jealous sky As we walk in fields of gold I've never made promises lightly And there have been some that I've broken But I swear in the days still left We'll walk in fields of gold We'll walk in fields of gold I've never made promises lightly And there have been some that I've broken But I swear in the days still left We'll walk in fields of gold We'll walk in fields of gold Many years have passed since those summer days Among the fields of barley See the children run as the sun goes down As we lie in fields of gold As we lie in fields of gold You'll remember me when the west wind blows Among the fields of barley And you'll forget the sun in his jealous sky When we walked in fields of gold When we walked in fields of gold When we walked in fields of gold Albums: Live Sessions, vol. 02 and Shenandoah

I've heard this song about 30 times in one day and can't get enough of the love that radiates from this video all over the world. The way the two sisters look at their "little one" so proudly and lovingly is heartwarming. But I don't want to forget the two gentlemen, the brother holds each song together very easily and unnoticed with a great musicality and Emmet is just a fantastic dobro player. And how Mama hits the bass, a blast.

I'm not sure everyone really realizes just how much work goes into this. It's a freaking ton of practice and hard work. Timing, intonation, instruments and vocals, not to mention the nuances that make this and their other songs so great. Listen for instance at 2:28 second, "as the sun goes down" how the vowel is closed by all three singers at precisely the same second. They are masters at hard work and masters of vowel matching. Great work Petersens and tons of respect from me. The engineering is also fantastic. Not to mention Momma holding it together on Bass. Coming from the UK and as a lover of America......and The Petersens .....I so hope this is the future for that wonderful Country. This is all that is good right before your eyes.

It might just be me, and only me, but the first time I heard that voice, it just killed me. This is not flattery, but a statement of fact. And since then, every time I hear it, whether it is a new tune, or not, it stills gets to me. I have a very good ear and miss little. This voice is the only voice in my life that hits me in this way. It is powerful. There is something special about it. I would not seek to change it in anyway.

KZbin brought The Petersens music when I was in sad, depressed mood. Their music and smiles lifted my spirits and soon I started smiling. I subscribed and listened to real music that spoke joy.

Ellen's confidence and smile in every single song they sing is so delightful. I just smile watching Ellen play that banjo and how she enjoys the entire song. And that is some of the most gorgeous blonde hair I think I've seen in a long time.

By far the most talented family I think I have ever seen. Amazing job. Julianne has a voice of an angel!
