Retrofiting on any existing structure is difficult just cause when they were originally built there was a certain order for each element. The materials, techniques, tools, timing and availability are always constantly changing. A 10 year old building can prove to be as difficult or more than 100 year old building cause what went into the newer one can be harder to remove/ replace cause there are elements that more interconnected and don't need removing/ replacing and are more costly and time consuming to do so.

Spanish as a 2nd language here. Born & raised in Southern California. Studied Spanish from age 10 through high school & university. Just for the love of the language, people, many cultures Wasn't a Spanish major in university, but I think the only time I wasn't in a Spanish literature class was the last part of senior year of university. I'd worked at least 2 jobs, plus scholarships & grants, & I was tired by then! That was many decades ago. And I still have 1 friend (not from back then) who speaks only Spanish. Had I not been supporting myself since age 17, Portuguese would have been next. Then Italian! I very much enjoy hearing other languages spoken! 1 daughter-in-law is originally from Bulgaria. When she talks to her immediate family, they switch to Bulgarian.

The stained glass in Yanis's bar is beautiful. An idea to utilize it in the convent would be to place the stained glass doors horizontally high on the interior hallway wall upstairs where you plan to create bedroom suites. The stained glass would be a clerestory window, bringing colorful light into the rooms from the windows along the newly created hallway.

I think the problem with the sound recorder is equalizing. It will pick up a sound and dial the volume up or down, depending on the level of noise. So a jet engine will be tuned down, a squeaking mouse will be tuned up. And they both sound alike in the recordings... Maybe what we've heard so far were very quiet sounds just tuned to the max.
