Thank you for sharing. I am fairly new to PS, but I believe I followed along enough to replicate your process. Now I just need to find a subject to practice with. Thanks for sharing and while long, you provided a lot and did not leave anything out - so well worth the few extra minutes. Please continue this series a few more times.

Thanks for the great and detailed video! However, I find the cool tone of the lighting on the meadow in front of the chapel a bit distracting. It primarily stems from the layers of light painting done with a cool LED headlight and the subsequent WB adjustments starting around 12:15 in the video. If I had the skills to manage all of that :-) I might opt for a slightly warmer and perhaps more saturated look. But it's a matter of opinion; as it is, it can evoke the feel of moonlight. :-)
@ThePhlogPhotography9 күн бұрын
Hey, thanks for your feedback! I agree the light is rather cold, I think its fitting for the seen. But if you want to make it warmer you could use the light painting raw files and increase white balance temperature on them which gives you warmer light in the end :-)

Thanks, this was great. I'm in Colorado. I guess our humidity's always low - I've never iced up like that. Come to Colorado. My Sony A7Rii used to change things. Maddening! My Nikon's don't ever do this.

I've been to Colorado many years ago, visited Maroon Bells (?) near Aspen, it was such a beautiful landscape, but we have been super scared running into bears haha. I hope to visit Colorado again in the future sometime

@@ThePhlogPhotography Our bears are nice. It's the grizzlies up north who would freeze my blood on sight if I was unprotected. I've got one great shot from 5m - a youngster who came to us. It's the moose you have to worry about around here.

Hi, thank you for the video. I see a problem with the light, where does it come from, it couldn't be far away because the shadow over the door in the second example is so harsh.

what is the best software to merge raws and do the hdr in your opinion? (to do the stacking i mean)
@ThePhlogPhotography9 күн бұрын
To create images like this one Photoshop is the best by far. If you want to create basic HDR photos, there are many great tool out there! I prefer Lightroom, however :-)

@@ThePhlogPhotography do you think the result is the same? or there are important differences?
@carlbaer30410 күн бұрын
Your photoshop skills far exceed my own, but I am wondering why you don't use File-Scripts-Load Files into Stack to place all open files into the layers instead of the copy paste process.
@ThePhlogPhotography9 күн бұрын
Thank you so much! I guess I'm just too used to the copy paste method, I need to force myself to try the script-way next time :D

I have had exactly the same 'switched to jpg' on my Canon R5, on the night of a huge aurora in the UK. I started the night shooting raw, and when I got home I found a lot of the later shots were jpg. The only thing I could think was I switched to video during the evening, to take some aurora video, then back to stills mode. The camera appears to have then gone to jpg. However, trying to recreate this scenario again at home, it stayed in RAW after shooting video. I asked the question on a Canon R5 Facebook group, and the concensus there was I was an idiot, and it was user error - so I left the group 😂 I'm still no further forwards in knowing why it switched to jpg.
@ADR1ANBUTT0N10 күн бұрын
That’s the problem with Facebook groups it’s always the users error, even if it was a genuine I hit the wrong button by mistake, everyone learns, but there was no need to be called an idiot etc. did you google it by any chance?
@combatwombat7110 күн бұрын
@@ADR1ANBUTT0N I have had a Google search, and I have found the odd post here and there about cameras defaulting back to jpg, but no conclusive reason why. I now make it part of my shooting workflow to check I am in RAW, or at least CRAW on my Canon R5.
@ThePhlogPhotography9 күн бұрын
Oh god I've read the same response regarding the problem in different sony groups haha. It is certainly not a user error! :-( I have the samee feeling it has to do something with the video settings because it always happens in combination with it in my case. I also tried recreating it, but s ofar no success :/

@ThePhlogPhotography9 күн бұрын
@margaretannhalleck132611 күн бұрын
My Sony camera has also randomly switched from raw to jpeg. Don’t recall if it was the a7iv, the a7 r5 or both. Don’t know why. If you figure it out, please share with your followers.
@ThePhlogPhotography9 күн бұрын
Someone pointed out it might have something to do with the MC11 adapter, do you use it by any chance? Did it happen after you recorder video? Because I think in my case it has something to do with video at least :/
@margaretannhalleck13269 күн бұрын
@@ThePhlogPhotography ….i guess that’s a possibility, but i never use these cameras for video. Maybe I inadvertently pressed the record button. Thanks for the suggestion
